This VCO is de...A monolithic voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) based on negative resistance principle is presented uti-lizing commercially available InGaP/GaAs hetero-junction bipolar transistor (HBT) technology. This VCO is de-signed for 5GHz-band wireless applications. Except for bypass and decoupled capacitors,no external component is needed for real application. Its measured output frequency range is from 4.17 to 4.56GHz,which is very close to the simulation one. And the phase noise at an offset frequency of 1MHz is -112dBc/Hz. The VCO core dissipates 15.5mW from a 3.3V supply,and the output power ranges from 0 to 2dBm. To compare with other oscillators,the figure of merit is calculated,which is about -173.2dBc/Hz. Meanwhile, the principle and design method of nega-tive resistance oscillator are also discussed.展开更多

The 'double T-DNA' binary vector pDLBRBbarm whi...We have developed a 'double T-DNA' binary vector system for generating selectable marker-free transgenic plants by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. The 'double T-DNA' binary vector pDLBRBbarm which carried two independent T-DNAs, one containing a selectable marker neomycin phosphotransferase (nptII) gene and the other a bargene, was constructed. Transgenic tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) plants were then produced by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation with this vector. Frequency of the primary transformants co-integrated with npt II gene and bar gene was 59.2%. Segregation of two T-DNA regions was found in 3 out of 4 T-1 lines from co-transformed T-0 plants with nptII and bar PPT-resistant and kanamycin-sensitive plants were in approximate 19.5% of the T-1 plants. The result indicated that this 'double T-DNA' vector system could be a workable approach to generate transgenic plants free from selectable marker genes. Co-transformation of nptII gene and bar gene to plants with mixtures of Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains containing single T-DNA vectors was also tested. Frequency of co-transformed plants was 20.0%-47.7% and relatively low as compared with that of 'double T-DNA' vector system.展开更多

We first analyze the multiple noises in the full duplex radio system and model such noises as an α - stable distribution. Then we formulate a novel non-Gaussian SI problem. Under the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC), a robust digital non-linear self-interference cancellation algorithm is proposed for the SI channel estimation. A gradient descent based algorithm is derived to search the optimal solution. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve a smaller estimation error and a higher pseudo signal to interference plus noise ratio (PSINR) than the well-known least mean square (LMS) algorithm and least square (LS) algorithm.展开更多

In each round,secondary uses( SUs) first submit the energy values and instantaneous detection signal-to-noise ratios( SNRs) to the fusion center( FC). According to detection SNRs,the FC conducts normalization calculations on the energy values. Then,the FC makes a sort operation for these normalized energy values and traverses all the possible mid-points between these sorted normalized energy values to maximize the classification accuracy of each SU. Finally,by introducing the recognition probability and misclassification probability,the distributions of the normalized energy values are analyzed and the bilateral threshold of classification accuracy is obtained via a target misclassification probability. Hence,the blacklist of malicious secondary users( MSUs) is obtained. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the current mainstream schemes in correct sensing probability,false alarm probability and detection probability.展开更多
VFT (variable frequency transformer) has been recently used as art alternative to HVDC (high voltage direct current) to control power flow between asynchronous networks. VFT consumes less reactive power than a bac...VFT (variable frequency transformer) has been recently used as art alternative to HVDC (high voltage direct current) to control power flow between asynchronous networks. VFT consumes less reactive power than a back-to-back HVDC system, provides faster initial transient recovery, and has better natural damping capability. VFT is simply a DFIM (doubly-fed induction machine) where the machine torque controls the power flow from stator to rotor and vice versa. The main disadvantage of this VFT is the slip rings and brushes required for the rotor circuit, especially in bulk power transmission. The BDFM (brushless doubly-fed machine) with nested cage rotor machine is proved to be a comparable alternative to conventional DFIM in many applications with the advantage that all windings being in the stator frame with fixed output terminals. In this paper, the BDFM is used as a BVFT (brushless variable frequency transformer). A prototype machine is designed and simulated to verify the system validity.展开更多

The system makes use of the same setup as has been used in previous studies of SCFD, but unlike these previous systems, the new system uses water-filling to maximize the spectral efficiency of the uplink channel. The concept of a free window is introduced to the duplex model for measuring, intuitively, the effective bandwidth of the bi-directional communication. The capacity gain is calculated and numerical results show the advantage of the proposed system over that of conventional TDD.展开更多

We present a novel approach using dual-wavelength lights to suppress the nonlinear intermodulation distortion in intensity-modulated RoF link both theoretically and experimentally. The system we proposed rminly consists of two Laser Diodes (LDs) at different wavelengths, a commercial available Mach-Zehnder Modulator (MZM) and a Photo Detector (PD). More than 25 dB suppression of the Third-order Interrnodulation Distortion (IMD3) is achieved by adjusting the wavelength and opti- cal power of the laser. Besides, the output of the MZM is then sent to the photodetector via a single fiber, which simplifies the system complexity for distrbution of RF signals over long distances.展开更多
A novel melting-assisted solvent-free route using solid oxalic acid was proposed for the post-treatment of SAPO-11 zeolite,followed by loading with 0.5 wt%Pt by the incipient wetness impregnation method.Subsequently,t...A novel melting-assisted solvent-free route using solid oxalic acid was proposed for the post-treatment of SAPO-11 zeolite,followed by loading with 0.5 wt%Pt by the incipient wetness impregnation method.Subsequently,the performance of the obtained bifunctional catalysts toward the hydroisomerization of n-dodecane was examined.The prepared samples were characterized by XRD,SEM,BET,XRF,Py-IR,and solid-state NMR.From the results,it was found that the high crystallinity and uniform morphology were retained after the post-treatment and that more(002)crystal faces were exposed,which was beneficial since more acid sites were provided.More importantly,the total Bronsted acid sites and the ratio(Ra)of the micropore area to the total surface area were optimized by this method.Thus,the catalytic performance was enhanced significantly,and the prepared Pt-SAPO-11-10%catalyst had the highest i-dodecane yield of 80.1%compared to 55.3%of Pt-SAPO-11.Expectedly,this facile and cost-effective method is promising for the hydroisomerization of normal paraffin in the production of lubricant base oils.展开更多
