Its real-time data handling and management and control tasks are arduous. Based on the advanced techniques of foreign countries, an improved structure of onboard data handling systems feasible for SST, is proposed. The energy-momentum tensor, as formulated by Letelier (1983), has been used to construct massive string cosmological models for which we assume the expansion scalar in the models is proportional to one of the components of shear tensor. The Einstein's field equations have been solved by applying a variation law for generalized Hubble's parameter in Bianchi-I space-time. The variation law for Hubble's parameter generates two types of solutions for the average scale factor, one is of power-law type and other is of the exponential form. Using these two forms, Einstein's field equations are solved separately that correspond to expanding singular and non-singular models of the universe respectively. We have made a comparative study of accelerating and decelerating models in the presence of string scenario. The study reveals that massive strings dominate in the decelerating universe whereas strings dominate in the accelerating universe. The strings eventually disappear from the universe for sufficiently large times, which is in agreement with current astronomical observations. The cosmological constant A is found to be a positive decreasing function of time which is corroborated by results from recent supernovae Ia observations. The physical and geometric properties of the models have been also discussed in detail.展开更多

The downlinkrate using X-band with an L2 halo orbit is estimated to be of only 5.35 GB/d. However, the Next GenerationSpace Telescope (NGST) will produce about 600 GB/d. Clearly the volume of data to downlink must be re-duced by at least a factor of 100. One of the resolutions is to encode the data using very low bit rate image com-pression techniques. An very low bit rate image compression method based on region of interest(ROI) has beenproposed for deep space image. The conventional image compression algorithms which encode the original datawithout any data analysis can maintain very good details and haven' t high compression rate while the modernimage compressions with semantic organization can have high compression rate even to be hundred and can' tmaintain too much details. The algorithms based on region of interest inheriting from the two previews algorithmshave good semantic features and high fidelity, and is therefore suitable for applications at a low bit rate. Theproposed method extracts the region of interest by texture analysis after wavelet transform and gains optimal localquality with bit rate control. The Result shows that our method can maintain more details in ROI than generalimage compression algorithm(SPIHT) under the condition of sacrificing the quality of other uninterested areas.展开更多

To ensure the security and stability of the supporting structure, tension must be monitored for some typical cables. Considering the stringent requirements in accuracy and long- term stability, magnetic flux sensor, vibrating wire strain gauge and fiber bragg grating strain gauge are screened for the cable tension monitoring of the supporting cable-net. Specifically, receivers of radio telescopes have strict restriction on electro magnetic interference (EMI) or radio frequency in- terference (RFI). These three types of sensors are evaluated from the view of EMIfRFI. Firstly, these fundamentals are theoretically analyzed. Secondly, typical sensor signals are collected in the time and analyzed in the frequency domain, which shows the characteristic in the frequency domain. Finally, typical sensors are tested in an anechoic chamber to get the EMI levels. Theoretical analysis shows that Fiber Bragg Grating strain gauge itself will not lead to EMI/RFI. According to GJB151 A, frequency domain analysis and test results show that for the vibrating wire strain gauge and magnetic flux sensor themselves, testable EMIfRF1 levels are typically below the background noise of the ane- choic chamber. FAST finally choses these three sensors as the monitoring sensors of its cable ten- sion. The proposed study is also a reference to the monitoring equipment selection of other radio tele- scopes and large structures.展开更多

The design objectives of the overall system are to automatically find light emitting objects at night within a user specified area, to track a light emitting object for a user specified time given the initial position of the object, and to allow the user access to these functions through a graphical user interface. The embedded system is used to provide a communication link between the graphical user interface and system hardware, to provide angle data processing for a dual axis accelerometer, to provide data processing for an electronic compass, and to provide pulse outputs for the step and direction inputs of three stepper motor drives. This paper will describe the design, implementation, and results of each of these objectives.展开更多

Thus, expatriate and compatriot authorities on the medieval Ethiopian cultural history are called upon to revisit the impacts oftbe Kob~ NSg^gt on the Zagwe period from the other end of the telescope, thereby, to reconstruct the unsung achievements of Ag^w civilization.
文摘Computer simulations were carried out to investigate the limitations imposed by Gaussian and Kolmogorov atmospheric turbulence on observing astronomical objects via ground based optical telescopes. These limitations were studied in terms of the point spread function of a reference star and the autocorrelation function of a binary star. Quantitative comparative assessments demonstrate the superiority of Kolmogorov approach.
文摘This paper presents the design and implementation of the embedded microcontrollers within a telescope control system. This paper will describe the design, implementation, and results of each of these objectives.
