The results showed that the juvenile phase could be shortened by more than two years when 2-year seedlings were grafted on the dwarf stocks. The effects of P22 and SH3 were significantly different. Grafted on P22, the flowering node was less, the first flowing site was lower, and the juvenile phase was shorter than SH3. With the two stocks, the average first flowering site was more than 200 cm, the average flowering node was more than 100, and the lateral branch top bud was more than 50% in all first flowing seedlings.展开更多

Methods: From March 1986 to October 2006, the clinical data of 63 children who underwent renal transplantation in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Results: The 1-, 3-, 5-, 10-year graft survival rates were 98.4%, 90.5%, 88.9% and 68.3%, respectively. And the corresponding patient survival rates were 100%, 95.2%, 92.1%, 71.4%. The body weight increased 4 to 12 kg and the body height grew up 2 to 6 cm during the first year post-transplantation. The main complications in the first year post-transplantation were hypertension (26/63, 41.3%), crinosity (14/63, 22.2%), drug-induced hepatic injury(11/63, 17.5%), gingival hyperplasia (10/63, 15.8%), pulmonary infection(9/63, 14.3%), bone marrow suppression(5/63, 7.9%), herpes (4/63, 6.3%) and diabetes (3/63, 4.8%). Conclusion: Renal transplantation is a preferred method for the treatment of children in end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Good tissue matching, proper operative time and pattern, peri-operactive care were essential to success, as well as appropriate immuno-suppressant strategy and good compliance.展开更多

Data for this analysis were from the 2010 Mongolia Global School-Based Health Survey (GSHS). The GSHS administered a self-report questionnaire to a nationally representative sample (N = 5,328) of 7th-llth grade school children. Chi-square analyses and multivariate logistic regressions were performed to determine the prevalence and to predict the fruit and vegetable intake from associated factors. Only 7.0% of students met WHO's recommendation of eating fruits and vegetables S or more times per day. There was a significant association between gender and fruit and vegetable intake (P = .016). There was a significant relationship between living condition and fruit and vegetable intake (P =.029). Students who lived in apartment were more likely to have adequate fruit and vegetable intake than those who lived in ger in the khashaa. To be effective, educational interventions should be implemented as early as possible.展开更多

In the development context of pre-primary schools it will not only hinder enhance children' s thinking ability, but also devoid of the child' s talent and mettle, for children to learn and live very unfavorable late. Preschool Primary School, out of the office park on the right track, is serious impediment to the normal development of preschool children and grow. This paper describes the dangers of pre-school, pre-primary schools and the causes are analyzed and we proposed the removal of the primary effective strategy, in order to fully mobilize the child' s lively and good mobility and lay its future development a solid foundation.展开更多

This longitudinal study conducted at the Center of Excellence in Lubumbashi from 2nd semester, 2011 to the 2nd semester, 2012, examined the records of children who had been receiving antiretroviral therapy for 48 weeks. A count of CD4 + T lymphocytes was performed at the beginning, 24 weeks, and 48 weeks of treatment. The immunological status was defined by the 1996 CDC (centers for disease control) immunological categories. All the children were on zidovudine, lamivudine/nevirapine or Efavirens. At initiation of treatment, severe immunosuppression was found in 56%, moderative in 28% and lacked in 16% of cases. Furthermore, after 48 weeks of treatment, a change in the immunological status was observed in 42% of cases. In contrast, 58% of cases kept in their original status. In this cohort, the immune status has not undergone significant change.展开更多

Methods: The enrolled patients were randomized into a TCM group (31 cases) treated with Qufeng Zhidong Recipe and a Western medicine group (30 cases) treated with haloperidol and trihexyphenidyl. Two courses of treatment were observed with 12 weeks as one course. The therapeutic effect and adverse reaction were assessed with Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS), Tic Symptom Score Scale (TSSS), TCM Syndrome Score Scale (TCMSSS), Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS) and laboratory examinations. Results: The total effective rate was 100% in the TCM group and 60% in the Western medicine group with statistical significance in difference (P<0.05). All the scores in the TCM group were better than those in the Western medicine group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Qufeng Zhidong Recipe can obviously relieve the symptoms and signs of TD children without toxic side-effects.展开更多

Methods: From June 2005 to March 2008, 40 children with extremity fractures were treated by elastic intramedullary nail, in whom femoral shaft fractures occurred in 26 cases, tibiofibular fractures in 8 cases, radial capitular fractures in 4 cases, ulnoradial fractures in 2 cases. All patients were treated by closed reduction and elastic intramedullary nail fixation. Results: All the fractures gained satisfactory reduction and healing. The average duration needed for fracturehealing was 1-2 months. Postoperative follow-up confirmed a sound functional recovery. Conclusions: The elastic intramedullary nail is a minimally invasive and effective surgical approach for treatment of extremity fractures in children. It allows early functional exercises after operation and secures a satisfactory bone union and functional recovery.展开更多

Methods: 68 child cases of chronic cough were treated by moxibustion. Results: 54 cases were cured, 13 cases improved, and one case failed. The cure rate was 79.2%, with a total effective rate of 98.5%. Conclusion: The moxibustion therapy has definite therapeutic effect for children chronic cough.展开更多
