Results showed that the dynamic and static MOE of bluestained wood were higher than those of non-bluestained wood. The significant differences in dynamic MOE and static MOE were found between bulestained and non-bluestained wood, of which, the difference in each of three dynamic MOE (Ep. the ultrasonic wave modulus of elasticity, Ems, the stress wave modulus of elasticity and El, the longitudinal wave modulus of elasticity) between bulestained and non-bluestained wood arrived at the 0.01 significance level, whereas that in the static MOE at the 0.05 significance level. The differences in MOE between bulestained and non-bluestained wood were induced by the variation between sapwood and heartwood and the different densities of bulestained and non-bluestained wood. The correlation between dynamic MOE and static MOE was statistically significant at the 0.01 significance level. Although the dynamic MOE values of Ep, Em, Er were significantly different, there exists a close relationship between them (arriving at the 0.01 correlation level). Comparative analysis among the three techniques indicated that the accurateness of FFT was higher than that of Pundit and Metriguard. Effect of tree knots on MOE was also investigated. Result showed that the dynamic and static MOE gradually decreased with the increase of knot number, indicating that knot number had significant effect on MOE value.展开更多

The vrn-1 gene has potent effects on vernalization requirement, growth, and soluble carbohydrate accumulations of the winter-annual Triticeae species. Two hundred and four unmapped AFLP markers and genome-specific DNA markers genetically linked to the vrn-1 gene were used to detect QTL controlling soluble carbohydrate accumulations, anthocyanin coloration and growth characteristics in a segregating population derived from open pollinated Leymus cinereus x L. triticoides hybrids. These perennial Triticeae grasses are distinguished by adaptation and growth habit. As expected, positive trait correlations and pleiotropic gene effects were detected for soluble carbohydrate accumulations and anthocyanin coloration. Likewise, positive trait correlations and pleiotropic gene effects were detected for tillering, leaf development, leaf growth, regrowth and rhizome spread. However, soluble carbohydrate accumulations were not associated with attenuated growth. In fact, several DNA marker alleles, including one near vrn-Ns1, had positive effects on soluble leaf carbohydrate concentrations and low temperature growth. The corresponding DNA marker near vrn-Ns1 had more specific effects on tillering. We speculate that vrn-1 exerts quantitative effects on low-temperature soluble leaf carbohydrate accumulations and growth habit of the perennial Leymus. However, a number of other DNA markers displayed highly significant effects on soluble carbohydrate accumulations and various growth characteristics. Findings indicate that anthocyanin coloration may be a useful phenotypic marker for soluble carbohydrate accumulation. Although variation for soluble carbohydrates was not associated with attenuated growth in this population, this trait was under genetic control.展开更多

G. Don. The investigation involved the cell growth, ajmalicine production and enzyme activity related to indole alkaloid biosynthesis in both cell lines. These results indicated that C_ 20hi cells grew faster than C_ 20D cells, and average ajmalicine content in C_ 20hi cells was 18.4 times more than that in C_ 20D when cultured in the production medium. In the growth medium, average ajmalicine content in C_ 20hi cells was 31.9 times more than that in C_ 20D cells, while the cell growth has no obvious difference. The comparison of enzyme activities in C_ 20hi and C_ 20D cells indicated that tryptophan decarboxylase (TDC), strictosidine synthase (SSS) and geraniol_10_dehydrogenase (G10H) activities have no close relation to ajmalicine accumulation, although the activities of these enzymes were higher when cells were cultured in the production medium than in the growth medium. The C_ 20hi cells are relatively stable in five years of culture.展开更多

A total number of 1155 individuals, ranging from 49 to 249mm in standard length was examined. The age of the fish was determined from sagittal otoliths. One year growth was made up of one translucent and one opaque zone. A maximum likelihood estimation procedure was used to fit the Von Bertalanffy, Logistic and Gompertz growth functions to the length-at-age data. ARSS indicated that there were no significant differences in growth between sexes in the three growth models (P〉0.05), and the Von Bertalanffy growth function Lr=292.8{1 cxp[-0.167(t+1.l16)]} was selected as the most appropriate growth model according to Akaike's information criterion (AIC).展开更多

文摘Effects of light intensity on growth, development and formation on Fagopy- rum cymosum were explored with natural light intensities at 100%(A), 85.2%(B), 75.8%(C) and 59.7%(D). The results showed that the decline of light intensity re- duced nutrient growth period, so that plant growth stage entered in advance and extended, which indicated that the decline of light intensity would lower leaf number and area, the number of twigs from the stem, as well as photosynthate. Further- more, the reduction degree increased upon light intensity decrease degree, and the proper shading improved stem height and leaf area enhanced before growth term.

文摘The growth characteristics of petroleum-degrader BS-8(Bacillus sp.) and the factors influencing its biosurfactant production were tested; the biosurfactant releasing mode of BS-8 was speculated by measuring OD600, surface tension and oil displacement of fermentation broth; and the effects of carbon source, nitrogen source, temperature, p H, and Na Cl concentration on biosurfactant production by BS-8 were observed in this study. The results showed that the biosurfactant releasing mode of BS-8 was growth-correlated, the surface tension of BS-8 fermentation broth declined with the total bacteria increasing, and the oil displacement was positive correlated with biosurfactant content in fermentation broth; and the optimal culture conditions for effective biosurfactant production included: glucose as carbon source, yeast extract as nitrogen source, Na Cl concentration of 2%, p H of 7.0 and temperature at 30 ℃.
文摘Low-temperature soluble carbohydrate accumulations are commonly associated with anthocyanin coloration, attenuated growth and cold adaptation of cool-season grasses. Although variation for soluble carbohydrates was not associated with attenuated growth in this population, this trait was under genetic control.
文摘The effects of different concentrations of NaCI (0, 0.10%, 0.25%, 0.40%, 0.55%, 0.70%) on the growth and physiological characteristics of three new varieties of Lagerstroemia indica were studied by pot experiment in the plastic greenhouses. The results showed that under different NaCI concentrations, the relative height in- crement and the relative diameter increment of L. indica were restrained obviously; the contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, carotenoid and GSH decreased with in- crease of NaCI concentration; and the content of MDA increased with increase of NaCI concentration. Through the determination and comparison of physiological in- dexes, and analysis of correlativity, NaCI tolerance of the three new L. indica vari- eties ranked as L. indica 'Pink Velour'〉L. indica 'Dynamite'〉L. indica 'Red Rock- et'. This is consistent with the results of the morphological characteristics after Na- CI stress.
文摘A full habituated cell line C_ 20hi was screened from 2,4_D dependent line (C_ 20D) of Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. The C_ 20hi cells are relatively stable in five years of culture.

文摘Age and growth characteristics of crimson sea bream Paragyrops edita Tanaka in Beibu Gulf were studied through bottom trawling and gillnet fleets fishing from July 2006 to December 2007. ARSS indicated that there were no significant differences in growth between sexes in the three growth models (P〉0.05), and the Von Bertalanffy growth function Lr=292.8{1 cxp[-0.167(t+1.l16)]} was selected as the most appropriate growth model according to Akaike's information criterion (AIC).
