On the basis of Miqing Liu’s principle of the beauty of linguistic forms in translation aesthetics, this article explores the linguistic aesthetics of the Chinese translation of The Practice of the Wild from the phonetic, lexical, and syntactic perspectives. Through case studies, this paper argues that in the Chinese version, assonance and onomatopoeia are adopted to convey the rhythm and musicality at the phonetic level;principle of accuracy, beauty, and compactness is applied to maintain the poetic expression at the lexical level;and sentences are reconstructed to preserve the rhetorical beauty at the syntactic level of the source text.展开更多
