教育研究如何服务于教育实践一直以来备受争议。本研究尝试将这一争议置于社会-历史视域中加以检视,透过《美国学校董事会杂志》这一非正式交流系统追溯教育实践中教育知识来源、结构与扩散的社会机制。教育知识在连续与断裂的扩散中主... 教育研究如何服务于教育实践一直以来备受争议。本研究尝试将这一争议置于社会-历史视域中加以检视,透过《美国学校董事会杂志》这一非正式交流系统追溯教育实践中教育知识来源、结构与扩散的社会机制。教育知识在连续与断裂的扩散中主要以不连续累积增长模式为主。其中,实践领域的舆论领袖通过个人之间的联系促成了教育知识的转化扩散,并为学校教育变革提供了可能性。教育研究者与城市督学早期建立的联盟孕育了教育的活力,伴随进步主义时代公共学校制度向现代化转型,城市督学由教育专家转型为实践领域的技术专家,教育知识的性质由教育性知识向信息性知识转变。早期由实践领域舆论领袖促成的教育知识扩散模式难以为继,教育研究与实践的关系逐渐由互动关系向线性关系转变。 展开更多

This paper first analyzes the benefits offered by the American Black Fraternities to the black college students in terms of improving academic achievement, cultivating leadership abilities, and enhancing social involvement on campus. Based on the successful experience of the American Black Fraternities, this paper further explores solutions to the serious problems existing in the Fellow Townsmen Association in Chinese universities to make it the same valuable asset for the development of the members' personality and comprehensive quality. The Association should be leveled up to an official student society to solve many of its managerial problems, and set a group goal to direct its members to the right track of serious study and completely transform the form and the content of its activities to improve the social skills of its members. 展开更多

The Republic of Armenia, as a world superpower in chess, is engaged in continuous development and implementation of specific strategic programmes which are aimed not only at providing high achievements in chess, but also at: (1) modernizing the educational sphere in the Republic of Armenia; (2) increasing the quality indexes of chess education--as a basic resource in the context of global educational system; (3) considerably deepening education subjects' cognitive interests towards education through the possibilities provided by chess; (4) developing learners' educational-cognitive motivation; and (5) creating conditions for activating learners' mental potential and the abilities to expose them, as well as promoting the awareness of the social value of chess in interpersonal relations. The contextual factors of teaching and learning chess in primary schools of Republic of Armenia have been revealed and presented in this paper. A number of conclusions and recommendations for policy makers are considerably made based on analysis of big research data. 展开更多

The author examines the differentiation of self-identity, school treatment, and academic struggle between two Asian American students in U.S. Midwest urban school environments. Using an interview study, the author focuses on understanding the students' perspectives in relation to the label of model minority. The purpose of the study is to investigate how social, academic, and economic factors affect these students, including different outcomes in terms of school achievement and self-identity formation. The findings aim to help urban educators approach complex factors regarding minority students' educational opportunities. Comprehensive results identified that: (1) The concept of model minority significantly affects Asian American students at all levels of daily life; (2) Urban schools continue reinforcing social reproduction and producing perceptions based on socioeconomic background and intersectional discrimination; (3) The evidence in the study shows that school environments do not aid students in valuing their cultural capital; (4) Students from different social classes present different linguistic and behavioral patterns; and (5) Social stratification significantly influences students' perspectives in response to the Asian stereotype, self-identity, and racial hierarchy in school and society. 展开更多
