In this paper, we address an approach to automatic prediction of word pronunciation. This approach combines example-based learning and dynamic-programming searching to predict sub-word pronunciation. Word pronunciation is formed by concatenating sub-word pronunciations. We conducted comparative experiments over a large-scale English dictionary. Experimental results show that this approach can achieve accuracy of 70.1%, which outperforms those published results. 展开更多

In this paper, combined with previous teaching experience and the development of a large number of networked multimedia, a preliminary study carried out on the interactive network multimedia education platform design patterns, the overall structure and system solutions. As the study is only a tentative teaching experiment based on the collaborative teaching mode, necessary improvement and modification are needed in other teaching practice. The application of technology in language classrooms has recently become commonplace. However, a very important set of variables, such as the teacher's attitudes toward the effective uses of computers in the classroom and SA (self-assessment)--on the part of the students--have been overlooked in EFL (English as a foreign language) classrooms. The goals of this study are defining teacher beliefs, discussing the relationship between teachers' beliefs about the application of SA and integration of computer technology, reviewing teachers' beliefs and computer knowledge, elaborating teachers' beliefs and computer technology training. To this end, a total number of 68 EFL teachers participated in this study. Participants of the experimental group included the teachers who had already been trained how to use and apply computer in their teaching, and the participants of the experimental group included the teachers who were teaching in traditional learning and teaching environments with the least access to and employ of computer. Comparing the participants in the experimental and control groups' attitude questionnaire showed that Iranian EFL teachers' positive attitudes toward SA will improve if they are engaged in computer supported learning and teaching environments 展开更多

The system uses four layer construction design as wireless information collection layer, the mobile terminal information fusion layer, network data transmission layer, human computer interactive application layer. The original collection of computer-based spoken English translation information is taken based on host computer communication sensing information processing technology, Bus data transmission of English translation accuracy evaluation system is taken based on B/S structure, the test design process and remote scheduling information fusion are constructed based on LabWindows/CVl and B/S structure mining system, information data processing and cross compiler operation of the spoken English translation test evaluation system are completed in application layer, in the embedded kernel and on the wireless mobile terminal, the evaluation system is developed. The test results show that the integrated scheduling ability of spoken English translation test information system designed in this paper is better than traditional method, the cost time is less, and the control quality of the system is high. 展开更多
