Independent component regression (ICR) was proposed to model the dam deformation and identify the physical origins of the deformation. Simulation experiment shows that ICR can successfully resolve the problem of ill-condition and produce a reliable deformation model. After that, the method is applied to model the deformation of the Wuqiangxi Dam in Hunan province, China. The result shows that ICR can not only accurately model the deformation of the dam, but also help to identify the physical factors that affect the deformation through the extracted independent components.展开更多

With the consideration of the frictional stress of the sea and land, supposing that parcel velocity in tropical cyclones is in linear variation and that the distribution of surface pressure is circular, a set of equations are derived, which describe the impact of orographic slope error, the central pressure error and position error of tropical cyclones on the wind field in the tropical cyclone. Typhoon Wipha (2007) is selected to verify the above interpretation method. The results show that the orographic slope, the frictional coefficient, the intensity and position of the cyclone are the important factors which have great influence on the interpretation of wind information about tropical cyclones. The dynamic interpretation method gives very good results, especially for the coastal area. It is applicable to improving the forecasts of the wind field in tropical cyclones.展开更多

Using immunological techniques, we investigated the presence of GnRH in horseshoe crab Tachypleus tridentatus. Octopus GnRH-like immunoreactivity, tunicate GnRH-like immunoreactivity, and lamprey GnRH-I-like immunoreactivity were detected in the neurons and fibers of the protocerebrum. However, no mammal GnRH-like immunoreactivity or lamprey GnRH-LII-like immunoreactivity was observed. Our results suggest that a GnRH-like factor, an ancient peptide, existed in the brain of T. tridentatus and may be involved in the reproductive endocrine system.展开更多

The experiment samples were collected from the Haibo Estuary (S1) and the Licun Estuary (S2) of the Jiaozhou Bay in China,which are seriously polluted with mercury. The results show that the mercury in sediment releases rapidly to atmosphere under solar radiation. After 8 hours of solar radiation,mercury concentrations decrease from 5.62 μg/g and 2.92 μg/g to 2.34 μg/g and 1.39 μg/g in S1 and S2 sediments respectively in summer,and decrease from 5.62 μg/g and 2.92 μg/g to 4.58 μg/g and 2.13 μg/g respectively in winter. The mercury species in the sediment change markedly under solar radiation. The concentrations of mercury bound to organic matter decrease significantly from 2.73 μg/g to 0.31 μg/g in S1 and from 2.07 μg/g to 0.31 μg/g in S2,and the released mercury mainly comes from mercury bound to organic matter. Mercury flux shows distinguishing characteristic of diurnal change,and it increases rapidly in the morning with the rising of solar radiation intensity,but decreases in the afternoon. The mercury flux increases with sediment temperature and solar radiation intensity. The rapid release of mercury in intertidal sediment plays an important role in the regional mercury cycle.展开更多

Methods: Sixty-four cases of pati...Objective: The aim of our study was to probe into the effect of fluorouracil controlled release formulation in the local implant treatment of patients with advanced colorectal cancer. Methods: Sixty-four cases of patients advanced colorectal cancer from August 2004 to February 2008 were selected for radical surgery, including 32 cases injected with intraoperative fluorouracil controlled release formulation in local implantation for 600 mg (the treatment group). Patients in another 32 cases received abdominal washing surgery by distilled water (the control group). All patients were followed up for 2 years and observed in aspects of the toxicity, 2-year survival rate, local recurrence rate and distant metastasis rate. Results: The 2-year survival rate and local recurrence rate in the treatment group was better than those in the control group (P < 0.05); as for toxicity and distant metastasis rate, no significant difference was observed. Conclusion: The effect of fluorouracil controlled release formulation in local implantation treatment was significant and the patient tolerance was satisfactory. Thus, it is an effective approach in the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer.展开更多

The algorithm adopts both the fixed priority and the dynamic prior...To fulfill the requirements for hybrid real-time system scheduling, a long-release-interval-first (LRIF) real-time scheduling algorithm is proposed. The algorithm adopts both the fixed priority and the dynamic priority to assign priorities for tasks. By assigning higher priorities to the aperiodic soft real-time jobs with longer release intervals, it guarantees the executions for periodic hard real-time tasks and further probabilistically guarantees the executions for aperiodic soft real-time tasks. The schedulability test approach for the LRIF algorithm is presented. The implementation issues of the LRIF algorithm are also discussed. Simulation result shows that LRIF obtains better schedulable performance than the maximum urgency first (MUF) algorithm, the earliest deadline first (EDF) algorithm and EDF for hybrid tasks. LRIF has great capability to schedule both periodic hard real-time and aperiodic soft real-time tasks.展开更多
Samples of five types of coal and oil shale from the Daqing region have been subjected to co-pyrolysis in different blending ratios with thermo-gravimetry (TG), given a heating rate of 30 ℃/min to a final tem- pera...Samples of five types of coal and oil shale from the Daqing region have been subjected to co-pyrolysis in different blending ratios with thermo-gravimetry (TG), given a heating rate of 30 ℃/min to a final tem- perature of 900 ℃. Investigations on pyrolysis of mixing coal and oil shale in different proportions were carried out, indicating that the main scope of weight loss corresponding to hydrocarbon oil and gas release was between 350 and 550 ℃. At higher temperatures, significant weight loss was attributed to coke decomposition. Characteristic pyrolysis parameters of blends from oil shale and the high ranked XZ coal varied with the blending ratio, but oil shale dominated the process. At the same blending propor- tions, highly volatile medium and low ranked coal of low moisture and ash content reacted well during pyrolysis and could easily create synergies with oil shale. Medium and high ranked coal with high mois- ture content played a negative role in co-pyrolysis.展开更多

The essential mechanism governing the time evolution of the magnetic field is diffusion dynamics. The magnetic field is represented by two components. It is clarified that the diffusion of a component causes agene ration of another component that is initially zero and, accordingly, that the magnetic force lines are reconnected. For this reconnection to occur correctly, the initial magnetic field must be directed oppositely in the two regions, e.g., y 〉 0 and y 〈 O; must be concave (convex) for y 〉 0 (y 〈 0); and must be saturated foryfar from the x axis, which would indicate the existence of the current sheet. METHODS:ThirtymaleSprague-Dawleyratswereran- domly allocated to six groups: vehicle group, CMS group, CMS + fluoxetine group and CMS + TTS of low-dosage (0.375 g/kg), medium-dosage (0.75 g/kg) and high-dosage (2.25 g/kg) groups. All rats except the vehicle group singly housed and exposed an unpredicted sequence of mild stressors. The behav- ior of rats was detected by open-field test (OFT) and sucrose preference test (SPT). The concentra- tion of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) and ad- renocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in serum of the rats were detected by radioimmunoassay. The con- centration of cortisol (CORT) in serum was detected by enzyme immunoassay.RESULTS: CMS procedure not only significantly de- creased the scores of crossing, rears and grooming in OFI: and the sucrose preference in SPT (all P〈 0.01), but also markedly increased serum CRH and CORT levels (both P〈0.05). Treatment with TTS (0.75 and 2.25 g/kg) could significantly prevent all of these abnormalities induced by CMS (P〈0.05, P〈 0.01). CONCLUSION: CMS can affect rat behavior and neuroendocrine and cause depression. TTS has the antagonism on CMS and produce antidepressive ef- fects.展开更多
This paper offers an analysis of the approaches employed in the three interpretations of the Basic Law of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (...This paper offers an analysis of the approaches employed in the three interpretations of the Basic Law of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) after the return of Hong Kong to China, including textualism, structural reading and originalism. The paper stresses the application of jurisprudential theory in the skilful employment of these methods in the NPC interpretations. In the case of "the right of abode" in Hong Kong the differences between the interpretations by the Court of Final Appeal of Hong Kong and by the NPC rest mainly in whether a formalist procedural review or a substantivist presumption of intent should be adopted in the process of determining an authoritative text that embodies the original intention of the legislation. That is not just a difference of legal interpretation but also one of jurisprudential theory and political stance. Based on the above considerations, this paper criticizes the common misconception that it is not appropriate for legislators to undertake legal interpretation, and calls for an understanding of the Basic Law in the framework of Chinese constitutional government.展开更多
In 2013, the China Geological Survey and Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey conducted the second Chinese gas hydrate expedition in the northern South China Sea (SCS) and successfully obtained visible gas hydrate sam...In 2013, the China Geological Survey and Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey conducted the second Chinese gas hydrate expedition in the northern South China Sea (SCS) and successfully obtained visible gas hydrate samples. Five of the thirteen drilling sites were cored for further research. In this work, Site GMGS2-08 is selected for the stable isotopic analy- sis of foraminifera present in the boreholes in order to reveal the carbon isotopic characteristics of the foraminifera and their response to methane release in the gas hydrate geological system. Our results show that the methane content at Site GMGS2-08 is extremely high, with headspace methane concentrations up to 39300 μmol L^-1. The hydrocarbon δ^13C values, ranging from -69.4%o to -72.3‰ PDB, distinctly indicate biogenic generation. Based on the δD analytical results (-183‰ to -185‰ SMOW), headspace methane is further discriminated to be microbial gas, derived from CO2 reduction. By isotopic measurement, five light δ^13C events are found in the boreholes from Site GMGS2-08, with foraminiferal δ^13C values being ap- parently lower than the normal variation range found in the glacial-interglacial cycles of the SCS. The δ^13C values of benthic Uvigerina peregrina are extremely depleted (as low as -15.85‰ PDB), while those of planktonic Globigerinoides ruber reach -5.68‰ PDB. Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) studies show that foraminiferal tests have experienced post-depositional alteration, infilled with authigenic carbonate, and the diagenetic mineralization is unlikely to be related to the burial depths. The correlation calculation suggests that the anaerobic oxidation of organic matter has only weak influences on the δ^13C com- position of benthic foraminifera. This means that the anomalous δ^13C depletions are predominantly attributed to the overprint- ing of secondary carbonates derived from the anaerobic oxidation of methane (AOM). Furthermore, the negative δ^13C anoma- lies, coupled with the positive δ^18O anomalies observed at Site GMGS2-08, are most likely the critical pieces of evidence for gas hydrate dissociation in the geological history of the study area.展开更多
Objective: To observe the effect of moxibustion on the protein and mRNA expressions of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) and corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 2 (CRFR1) in hypothalamus of trinitrobenzene...Objective: To observe the effect of moxibustion on the protein and mRNA expressions of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) and corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 2 (CRFR1) in hypothalamus of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced experimental colitis rats, and to explore the central mechanisms of moxibustion in improving visceral pain and the pain-related emotions in experimental colitis rats. Methods: Thirty-six Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into a normal group (NG), a model group (MG), a herb-partitioned moxibustion group (HPMG) and a sham herb-partitioned moxibustion group (SHPMG). Except the NG, rats in the remaining three groups all received TNBS enema to establish experimental colitis models. The HPMG received herb-partitioned moxibustion (HPM) at bilateral Tianshu (ST 25) and Qihai (CV 6) for intervention; for the SHPMG, the herbal cakes and moxa cones were only placed on the acupoints but not ignited; rats in the MG and NG were only fixed in the same way as those in the HPMG but did not receive any treatment. At the end of the intervention, the abdominal withdrawal reflex (AWR) score, the open field test (OFT) score and the elevated plus maze (EPM) score were observed to measure the changes in visceral pain and pain-related emotions of the rats. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to examine the expressions of CRF and CRFR1 proteins in hypothalamus; the fluorescence-based quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to detect the expressions of CRF and CRFR1 mRNAs in hypothalamus. Results: Compared with the NG, the AWR score increased significantly and the OFT and EPM scores dropped significantly in the MG (all P〈0.05), and the expressions of hypothalamic CRF and CRFR1 proteins and mRNAs increased significantly (all P〈0.01). Compared with the MG and SHPMG, the AWR score dropped significantly and the OFT and EPM scores increased significantly in the HPMG (all P〈0.01), and the expressions of hypothalamic CRF and CRFRI proteins and mRNAs decreased significantly (all P〈0.05). There were no significant differences between the MG and the SHPMG (all P〉0.05). Conclusion: HPM can down-regulate the abnormally increased expressions of CRF and CRFR1 proteins and mRNAs in hypothalamus of the TNBS-induced experimental colitis rats, which is plausibly one of its action mechanisms in mitigating visceral pain and the pain-related emotions in the experimental colitis rats.展开更多

文摘This paper offers an analysis of the approaches employed in the three interpretations of the Basic Law of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) after the return of Hong Kong to China, including textualism, structural reading and originalism. The paper stresses the application of jurisprudential theory in the skilful employment of these methods in the NPC interpretations. In the case of "the right of abode" in Hong Kong the differences between the interpretations by the Court of Final Appeal of Hong Kong and by the NPC rest mainly in whether a formalist procedural review or a substantivist presumption of intent should be adopted in the process of determining an authoritative text that embodies the original intention of the legislation. That is not just a difference of legal interpretation but also one of jurisprudential theory and political stance. Based on the above considerations, this paper criticizes the common misconception that it is not appropriate for legislators to undertake legal interpretation, and calls for an understanding of the Basic Law in the framework of Chinese constitutional government.

文摘In 2013, the China Geological Survey and Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey conducted the second Chinese gas hydrate expedition in the northern South China Sea (SCS) and successfully obtained visible gas hydrate samples. Five of the thirteen drilling sites were cored for further research. In this work, Site GMGS2-08 is selected for the stable isotopic analy- sis of foraminifera present in the boreholes in order to reveal the carbon isotopic characteristics of the foraminifera and their response to methane release in the gas hydrate geological system. Our results show that the methane content at Site GMGS2-08 is extremely high, with headspace methane concentrations up to 39300 μmol L^-1. The hydrocarbon δ^13C values, ranging from -69.4%o to -72.3‰ PDB, distinctly indicate biogenic generation. Based on the δD analytical results (-183‰ to -185‰ SMOW), headspace methane is further discriminated to be microbial gas, derived from CO2 reduction. By isotopic measurement, five light δ^13C events are found in the boreholes from Site GMGS2-08, with foraminiferal δ^13C values being ap- parently lower than the normal variation range found in the glacial-interglacial cycles of the SCS. The δ^13C values of benthic Uvigerina peregrina are extremely depleted (as low as -15.85‰ PDB), while those of planktonic Globigerinoides ruber reach -5.68‰ PDB. Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) studies show that foraminiferal tests have experienced post-depositional alteration, infilled with authigenic carbonate, and the diagenetic mineralization is unlikely to be related to the burial depths. The correlation calculation suggests that the anaerobic oxidation of organic matter has only weak influences on the δ^13C com- position of benthic foraminifera. This means that the anomalous δ^13C depletions are predominantly attributed to the overprint- ing of secondary carbonates derived from the anaerobic oxidation of methane (AOM). Furthermore, the negative δ^13C anoma- lies, coupled with the positive δ^18O anomalies observed at Site GMGS2-08, are most likely the critical pieces of evidence for gas hydrate dissociation in the geological history of the study area.
文摘Objective: To observe the effect of moxibustion on the protein and mRNA expressions of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) and corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 2 (CRFR1) in hypothalamus of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced experimental colitis rats, and to explore the central mechanisms of moxibustion in improving visceral pain and the pain-related emotions in experimental colitis rats. Methods: Thirty-six Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into a normal group (NG), a model group (MG), a herb-partitioned moxibustion group (HPMG) and a sham herb-partitioned moxibustion group (SHPMG). Except the NG, rats in the remaining three groups all received TNBS enema to establish experimental colitis models. The HPMG received herb-partitioned moxibustion (HPM) at bilateral Tianshu (ST 25) and Qihai (CV 6) for intervention; for the SHPMG, the herbal cakes and moxa cones were only placed on the acupoints but not ignited; rats in the MG and NG were only fixed in the same way as those in the HPMG but did not receive any treatment. At the end of the intervention, the abdominal withdrawal reflex (AWR) score, the open field test (OFT) score and the elevated plus maze (EPM) score were observed to measure the changes in visceral pain and pain-related emotions of the rats. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to examine the expressions of CRF and CRFR1 proteins in hypothalamus; the fluorescence-based quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to detect the expressions of CRF and CRFR1 mRNAs in hypothalamus. Results: Compared with the NG, the AWR score increased significantly and the OFT and EPM scores dropped significantly in the MG (all P〈0.05), and the expressions of hypothalamic CRF and CRFR1 proteins and mRNAs increased significantly (all P〈0.01). Compared with the MG and SHPMG, the AWR score dropped significantly and the OFT and EPM scores increased significantly in the HPMG (all P〈0.01), and the expressions of hypothalamic CRF and CRFRI proteins and mRNAs decreased significantly (all P〈0.05). There were no significant differences between the MG and the SHPMG (all P〉0.05). Conclusion: HPM can down-regulate the abnormally increased expressions of CRF and CRFR1 proteins and mRNAs in hypothalamus of the TNBS-induced experimental colitis rats, which is plausibly one of its action mechanisms in mitigating visceral pain and the pain-related emotions in the experimental colitis rats.
