SPEEDING-UP RE-SAMPLED ALGORITHM IN RAY CASTING VOLUME RENDERING OF MEDICAL IMAGES

Ray casting algorithm can obtain a better quality image in volume rendering, however, it exists some problems, such as powerful computing capacity and slow rendering speed. How to improve the re-sampled speed is a key to speed up the ray casting algorithm. An algorithm is introduced to reduce matrix computation by matrix transformation characteristics of re-sampling points in a two coordinate system. The projection of 3-D datasets on image plane is adopted to reduce the number of rays. Utilizing boundary box technique avoids the sampling in empty voxel. By extending the Bresenham algorithm to three dimensions, each re-sampling point is calculated. Experimental results show that a two to three-fold improvement in rendering speed using the optimized algorithm, and the similar image quality to traditional algorithm can be achieved. The optimized algorithm can produce the required quality images, thus reducing the total operations and speeding up the volume rendering. 展开更多

On the basis of the study on road elements and th e existing three-dimensional road data models, this paper puts forward the transe ct-based road modeling, resolves the modeling of the simplest road with two roa d transects, and fulfils the visualization of the road. OpenGL is applied as the tool of visualization. The map texture technology, LOD algorithm and dynamic mu lti-differentiating texture technology are of benefit to the construction of 3D road GIS, and improve the speed of roaming and effective visualization. This pa per also disusses the combination of 2D digitall road map and 3D road scene, and the dynamic response between them. Finally, on the basis of the research on the transect-based road model, this paper develops the three-dimensional road geo graphic information system called virtual road ( VRoad ), which not only suppli es road designers with a set of tool which can turn the designed 2D road data in to 3D road and the high road assistant function area in computer, but also suppl ies the road management with a set of tool which can realize the road real time and interactive roaming, high-efficiency management. 展开更多

In this paper, an information fusion based scheme is presented to obtain 3-D information of human head. Structured light technology is employed to measure depth. For the special reflection areas,in which the structured light stripe can not be detected directly, the shape of the structured light stripe can be calculated from the corresponding contour. By fusing the information of structured light and the contours, the problem of reflectance influence is solved, and the whole shape of head,including hair area, can be obtained. Three-dimensional medical image visualization becomes an essential part for medical field, including computer aided diagnosis, surgery planning and simulation, artificial limb surgery, radiotherapy planning, and teaching etc. In this paper, marching cubes algorithm is adopted to reconstruct the 3-D images for the CT image sequence in DICOM format under theVC++6.0 and the visual package VTK platform. The relatively simple interactive operations such as rotation and transfer can be realized on the platform. Moreover, the normal vector and interior point are calculated to form the virtual clipping plane, which is then used to incise the 3-D object. Information of the virtual slice can be obtained, in the mean while the virtual slice images are displayed on the screen. The technique can realize the real time interaction extraction of virtual slice on 3-D CT image. The cuboids structured can be zoomed, moved and eircumrotated by operating mouse to incise the 3-D reconstruction object. Real time interaction can be realized by clipping the reconstruction object. The coordinates can be acquired by the mouse clicking in the 3D space, to realize the point mouse pick-up as well angle and distance interactive measurement. We can get quantitative information about 3-D images through measurement. 展开更多
