Yuyao (EX HN 4), Touwei (ST 8), Sibai (ST 2), Quanliao (SI 18), Xiaguan (ST 7) and Jiachengjiang were punctured selectively according to the involvement of different branches of the trigeminal nerve. After treatment, of the 2656 cases, the trigeminal neuralgia disappeared in 1469 (55.31%), 727 (27.37%) had marked improvement, 430 (16.19%) had improvement and 30 (1.13%) had no any significant effect. The three years’ follow up visit in 245 cases showed a relapse in 187 cases (76.3%). We think that the therapeutic effect is closely related to the needling manipulations. Only when an electric shock like needling sensation appeared (i.e. “qi reaching the affected area") after inserting the acupuncture needle into the chief acupoints, a better therapeutic effect would be achieved.展开更多

Methods:49 Wistar rats were randomly divided into ① control group, ② ST 36 Xu group, ③ BL 21 Xu group, ④ ST 36 Chen group, ⑤ BL 21 Chen group, ⑥ ST 36 IT group, and ⑦ BL 21 IT group, with 7 rats in each group. Rat gastric ulcer model was established using intra gastric administration of glacial acetic acid. Gastric mucosal thickness, mucosal muscular defect width, superficial mucosal mucus index (MI),intramucosal MI ,Total MI,plasma 6 keto PGF1α ,serum NO and gastric tissue CGRP concentrations were used as the indexes. The EA treatment was conducted once daily at Xu period (7-9 o’clock in the evening), Chen period (8-10 o’clock in the morning) and irregular time (IT) with 6 days being a therapeutic course, two courses altogether. Results:After EA treatment,①the regenerated mucosal thickness values of the aforementioned 6 EA groups, particularly ST 36 Xu group and BL 21 Xu group, were all apparently higher than that of control group (P<0.05-0.01), while the mucosal muscle layer defect width values of different EA groups, particularly ST 36 Xu group and BL 21 Xu group, were strikingly lower than that of control group (P<0.05-0.01); ②the 3 MI of the 6 EA groups, particularly those of ST 36 Xu group were all significantly higher than those of control group (P<0.05-0.01); ③plasma 6 keto PGF1α contents of the 6 EA groups, particularly those of ST 36 Xu and BL 21 Xu groups, were all significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05-0.01); ④serum NO and gastric tissue CGRP concentrations of the 6 EA groups, particularly those of ST 36 Xu and BL 21 Xu groups and CGRP concentration of ST 36 Chen group, were all significantly higher than those of control group (P<0.05-0.01);and ⑤there were positive correlation between superficial MI or total MI and NO level (r=0.858, 0.987, P<0.05,and 0.01),and between the superficial mucus index and CGRP concentration (r=0.9051, t=4.68, P<0.01), suggesting that the increase of the secretion function of the regenerated mucosal mucus is related to acupuncture induced increase of release of both NO and CGRP.Conclusion:The therapeutic effect of EA of ST 36 and BL 21 in Xu period is better in the treatment of gastric ulcer, and that of EA of ST 36 is the best.展开更多

Methods Eighty-four cases of depression patients were randomly divided into an electroacupuncture observation group(group A), an electroacupuncture control group(group B) and a medication control group(group C), 28 cases in each group. Bǎihuì(百会 GV 20) and Zúsānlǐ(足三里 ST 36) were used in the group A; Tàichōng (太冲 LR 3), Sānyīnjiāo (三阴交 SP 6), Nèiguān (内关 PC 6) and Shénmén (神门 HT 7) were used in the group B; and the group C was treated with oral administration of Fluoxetine. The scores of Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) were tested and the level of serum interleukin 1(IL-1β), interleukin 6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) were measured by Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)before and after treatment. Results Their scores of HAMD were obviously decreased after treatment in three groups(all P0.01). In the group A, 2 cases were cured, 19 cases were markedly effective, 5 cases were effective and 2 cases were failed. In the group B, 16 cases were markedly effective, 12 cases were effective. While in the group C, 1 case was cured, 17 cases were markedly effective, 7 cases were effective and 3 cases were failed. The grade distribution of clinical effect showed that the effect of group A was better (P0.05). The levels of serum IL-1β and IL-6 in the three groups were obviously decreased after treatment (P0.05, P0.01), while there was no significant difference between the level of serum TNF-α before and after treatment. Conclusion The effect of electroacupuncture observation group is superior to those of electroacupuncture control group and medication control group. All of these three methods can clear the inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and IL-6 away and improve the symptoms of depression.展开更多

During his 70 years of clinical practice, he developed the theory that most diseases are caused by qi stagnation, and in order to restore qi circulation one needs to improve the blood circulation first. Based on this theory, in combination with empirical insights from clinical practice, he has developed a unique technique for using three-edged needles. He has also categorized and extended the application of bloodletting therapy with three edged needles to cover over 150 diseases. In addition, Dr. He's bloodletting therapy with three edged needles is an innovation that may inspire other physicians to develope and expand the use of acupuncture-related therapies to treat disease.展开更多

The innovation of needle instrument was micro Sinew-bone needles and big Sinew-bone needles; the Innovation of acupuncture techniques were fascia rotating separation, fascia plucked separation, fascia cutting separation, fascia fan separation, flying flicking therapy, and fascia knocking and pricking. The six myofascial power zones i.e three yang hand meridian, three yin hand meridian, three yang foot meridian, three yin foot meridian, conception vessel and governor vessel were put forward. The meridian-sinew flow and move, connecting at the peks of bones where the bones protrude, the sinews connect, movement and stillness harmoniously shift here. Bones have leaks on the sides, there are blood vessels and nerves. Joints peak and protrude, and three points meet. Fascia and muscles meet in a balanced triangle. Meridiansinew knot and form nodes, when soft tissue is damaged there is pain here. Needling manipulation can loose and break this apart, the sinew connection is the key. Treatment method was invented and the location and treatment points using the three needles were summarized.展开更多

Methods: By adopting a randomized controlled method, 80 eligible patients were randomized into an observation group of 41 cases and a control group of 39 cases. The control group was intervened by Jin's cervical three-needle acupuncture plus acupuncture at the vertigo-pain points and Fengchi (GB 20); the observation group was by Long's chiropractic tuina manipulations in addition to the treatment given to the control. For both groups, the intervention was given once a day, 7 sessions as a treatment course, with a 1-day interval after a course, for 2 courses in total. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated after the first session and the second treatment course, at the 3-month and 6-month follow-ups. Results: After the first session, the recovery plus markedly effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P〈0.01); the rate was markedly higher in the observation group than that in the control group after 2 treatment courses (P〈0.01); at the 3-month follow-up, the relapse rate was 2.5% in the observation group versus 23.5% in the control, and the between-group difference was statistically insignificant (P〉0.05); the 6-month follow-up study showed that the relapse rate was 5.0% in the observation group versus 21.6% in the control group, and the between-group difference was statistically significant (P〈0.05); at the 6-month follow-up, the total relapse rate was 7.5% in the observation group versus 35.1% in the control group, and the inter-group difference was statistically significant (P〈O.01). Conclusion: The two treatment protocols are both effective in treating cervical vertigo. However, due to its more significant efficacy, more efficient action and lower relapse rate compared to acupuncture alone, acupuncture plus tuina can be regarded as a verified protocol for cervical vertigo.展开更多

文摘IntroductionTriple puncture, first appeared in Miraculous Pivot (灵枢), is an ancient method of acupuncture, which has been used to treat relatively small and deep disorders caused by pathogenic wind by puncturing the center of the affected area with one needle and the surrounding areas with two other needles.
文摘Researches in recent years have shown that cellular immune factor plays an important role in the generation and development of cerebral hemorrhage1-3.

文摘Objective To investigate the immunologic mechanism of acupuncture at Bǎihuì(百 会 GV 20) and Zúsānlǐ(足三里 ST 36) for treatment of depression. All of these three methods can clear the inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and IL-6 away and improve the symptoms of depression.
文摘Dr.He's bloodletting therapy utilizing three edged needles is one of his "three adjusting methods of acupuncture". He's bloodletting therapy with three edged needles is an innovation that may inspire other physicians to develope and expand the use of acupuncture-related therapies to treat disease.
文摘Objective To explore the better treatment of post-stroke depression. Methods Sixty cases of post-stroke depression ranged from mild to middle degree were randomly divided into comprehensive therapy group and medication group, 30 cases in each group. In comprehensive therapy group, electroacupuncture at temple-three-needle was mainly applied and Fluoxetine Hydrochloride capsule was taken by oral administration; in medication group, Fluoxetine Hydrochloride capsule was applied by oral administration. Functional Independent Measure (FIM) Scale and WHOQOL-BREF evaluation results before and after treatment were compared after 4 weeks treatment. Results Comparing with the FIM scores before treatment, the differences in the two groups were significant (both P0.01), and the improvement in comprehensive therapy group (74.97±9.52) was superior to that in medication group (66.70±9.23) (P0.01). Signif icant differences were presented statistically in comparison of index scores of WHOQOL-BREF before and after treatment in two groups (P0.05, P0.01), and it in comprehensive therapy group was superior to that in medication group (P0.05, P0.01). Conclusion Activities of daily life and quality of life of post-stroke depression can be significantly improved by electroacupuncture at temple-three-needle and oral administration of Fluoxetine Hydrochloride capsule.
文摘"Sinew-bone three-needle therapy" was introduced in the paper. Treatment method was invented and the location and treatment points using the three needles were summarized.
文摘Objective: To explore the clinical effects of electroacupuncture(EA) at Zusanli(ST 36) and Fenglong(ST 40) in treating senile dementia. Methods: A total of 74 patients were randomly divided into an EA group and a medication group based upon the random digital table, 37 cases in each group. EA at Zusanli(ST 36) and Fenglong(ST 40) was given in the EA group, once every day, for six treatments per week. Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets were given to the medication group, 5 mg per time and once a day in the former four weeks, 10 mg per time and once a day after 4 weeks, oral administration before sleep at night. The courses of the treatment were 12 weeks in both groups. The scores of mini-mental state examination(MMSE) and Barthel index(BI) were observed before and after the treatment, for processing the comparative analysis of the clinical effects after the course of the treatment. Results: The total effective rate was 86.5% in the EA group and 70.3% in the medication group. The therapeutic effect was better in the EA group than that in the medication group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P〈0.05). MMSE and BI scores after the treatment in the two groups were all elevated than those of the same groups before the treatment(P〈0.05, P〈0.01). The improving situation was obviously better in the EA group than that in the medication group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P〈0.05). Conclusion: EA at Zusanli(ST 36) and Fenglong(ST 40) is affirmative in the therapeutic effect for senile dementia and can also improve the cognitive function and enhance the patients' quality of life.
文摘Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and action mechanism of Jin's three-needle acupuncture plus Long's chiropractic tuina manipulations in treating cervical vertigo. However, due to its more significant efficacy, more efficient action and lower relapse rate compared to acupuncture alone, acupuncture plus tuina can be regarded as a verified protocol for cervical vertigo.
