中国科学院上海生命科学研究院生物化学与细胞生物学研究所

中国科学院上海生命科学研究院生物化学与细胞生物学研究所(简称生化与细胞所)成立于2000年5月，由原中国科学院上海生物化学研究所和原中国科学院上海细胞生物学研究所整合而成，系中国科学院上海生命科学研究院的成员单位之一。现由常务副所长李林研究员主持工作。

CAS Biologists in Shanghai Step up Cooperation with Their West European Peers

The Shanghai Institutes for Biological sciences (SIBS), a CAS research arm mbiology, consists of the Institute Biochemistry and Cell Biology, the Institute of Neuroscience, theInstitute of Materia Medica, the Institute of Physiology and Ecology, and the Institute forNutritional Sciences. In response to the current trends of S&T globalization and theinterdisciplinary development of the life sciences, it deems international cooperation a majorcomponent of its effort to uplift the overall capacity of knowledge creation at SIBS. Focusing ontheir positions in the overall developmental strategy and in key frontier research areas, theresearch teams, labs and scientific centers under SIBS are mobilized to act as vehicles for thiseffort and to initiate various substantial research and development (R&D) projects. In this way, anew system of international S&T cooperation featuring high quality and rewarding benefits has beendeveloped so that the effort becomes a powerful booster for the buildup of first-class researchinstitutions in the world.

Sino-Swiss center for cassava technology launched in Shanghai

Under the joint sponsorship of the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences （SIBS） and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology （ETH Zurich）, the Shanghai Center for Cassava Biotechnology （SCCB） has been established at the Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology （SIPE）, SIBS. Then CAS Vice President CHEN Zhu and State Secretary for Education and Research of the Swiss Confederation Charles Kleiber were present at its nameplate-unveiling ceremony held on 25 April.

华东地区病毒生化基础实验讲习班在合肥举行

华东地区病毒生化基础实验讲习班于6月11日至22日在合肥举行。这期讲习班是由中国生物化学会主办的。中国科学院上海生物化学研究所六室分子病毒学研究组孙玉昆副教授和巫爱珍、戴仁鸣、沈学仁等四同志承担了这期讲习班的全部教学工作。他们先后讲解了关于分子病毒学研究进展、蛋白体外翻译、互补DNA的合成以及分子杂交等五个专题,又带领学员做了关于病毒的纯化、核酸碱基分析。
