The controller can provide some suitable sinusoidal signals to com- pensate the feedback unbalance response signals synchronous with the rotary frequency, then reduce the fluctua- tion of the control currents and weaken the active control of AMB system. The variable step-size proportional to the rotational frequency is deduced by analyzing the principle of normal LMS algorithm and its deficiency in the application of real-time filtering of AMB system. Experimental results show that the new method can implement real-time unbalance force compensation in a wide frequency band, reduce the effect of unbalance stimulant force on the housing of AMB system, and provide convenience to improve rotational speed.展开更多

Data for adverse outcomes were collected, and included severe liver diseases(defined as liver failure and/or acute liver decompensation) and liver-related mortality. Logistic regression modeling was performed to determine the risk factors for adverse outcomes.RESULTS The symptoms caused by superimposed acute hepatitis E(AHE) were much more severe in cirrhotic patients(n = 94) than in non-cirrhotic patients(n = 134), as evidenced by significantly higher liver complications(77.7% vs 28.4%, P < 0.001) and mortality rate(21.3% vs 7.5%, P = 0.002). Most of the cirrhotic patients(n = 85, 90.4%) had no prior decompensation. Among the non-cirrhotic patients, superimposed AHE caused progressively more severe diseases that corresponded with the CHB disease stages, from immune tolerant to immune reactivation phases. Few risk factors were identified in the cirrhotic patients, but risk factors for non-cirrhotic patients were found to be intermediate HBV DNA levels(OR: 5.1, P = 0.012), alcohol consumption(OR: 6.4, P = 0.020), and underlying diabetes(OR: 7.5, P = 0.003) and kidney diseases(OR: 12.7, P = 0.005). Only 28.7% of the cirrhotic patients and 9.0% of the non-cirrhotic patients had received anti-HBV therapy previously and, in all cases, the efficacy had been suboptimal. CONCLUSION CHB-related cirrhosis and intermediate HBV DNA level were associated with severe disease in superinfected patients, and successful antiviral treatment might counter this outcome.展开更多

By utilizing property of Golay sequence, the signal and its conjugate interference(image interference)in preamble are separated by correlation and used to estimate I/Q imbalance parameters. After that, a Least Square(LS) estimation of compensation filter is obtained and adopted in the compensation structure. Two applications of the presented algorithm are discussed: we could either estimate the channel along with I/Q imbalance or estimate the imbalance parameter only to maintain a lower cost. Both applications are testified by simulation. The results show that the image interference is significantly suppressed even in poor SNR condition, and the computation cost of the algorithms is low.展开更多

A mathematical model of diffusion-oxidation was developed considering the mass transfer resistance of a gas-liquid boundary, the resistance of the boundary layer from the emulsifier membrane, and the autocatalytic-type autoxidation reaction of PUFA. The dynamic mass transfer coefficient of the emulsifier membrane, k0, was introduced. The model was verified by comparing the predictions of the model with the experi- mental data. The results indicated that the model was in good agreement with the oxygen diffusion and linoleic acid oxidation in the emulsion, and showed good applicability in the prediction of the effect of the emulsifier type on the oxidation of PUFA in the emulsion. It indicated that the oxidation of PUFA in emulsions, with stirring and limited oxygen compensation from the atmosphere, was controlled mostly by mass transfer resistance from the emulsifier membrane.展开更多

Due to the unbalanced back electro-motive force (EMF) and impedance produced, unbalanced current is generated. The cireulatin8 current, which is caused by a decrease in the thrust, is generated by the unbalanced current. The optimal design of auxiliary-teeth at the end of the mover was carried out to solve the unbalance of phase by using design of experiment (DOE), and compared with the basic model through finite element analysis (FEA). As a result, the auxiliary-teeth model compensates for the decrease of thrust caused by the unbalanced phase. Also, this model is proven to reduce the detent force by the vibration and noise of the PMLSM and copper loss caused by the circulating current.展开更多

We report the first case of a man with a secondary aorto-duodenal fistula presenting with a history of persistent occlusive syndrome. A 59-year old man who underwent an aortic-bi-femoral bypass 5 years ago, presented with dyspepsia and biliary vomiting. Computed tomography scan showed in the third duodenal segment the presence of inflammatory tissue with air bubbles between the duodenum and prosthesis, adherent to the duodenum. The patient was submitted to surgery, during which the prosthesis was detached from the duodenum, the intestine failed to close and a gastro-jejunal anastomosis was performed. The post-operative course was simple, secondary ADF was a complication (0.3%-2%) of aortic surgery. Mechanical erosion of the prosthetic material into the bowel was due to the lack of interposed retroperitoneal tissue or the excessive pulsation of redundantly placed grafts or septic procedures. The third or fourth duodenal segment was most frequently involved. Diagnosis of ADF was difficult. Surgical treatment is always recommended by explorative laparotomy. ADF must be suspected whenever a patient with aortic prosthesis has digestive bleeding or unexplained obstructive syndrome. Rarely the clinical picture of ADF is subtle presenting as an obstructive syndrome and in these cases the principal goal is to effectively relieve the mechanical bowel obstruction.展开更多

The customer must return the negative effects of its consumers (taking reactive power, harmonic generation, phase unbalance) down to the prescribed limits. This primarily refers to the presence of non-linear consumers, leading to distortion of the basic parameters of voltage and current, in steady or transient conditions, and therefore the deformation of waveform. One way to reduce the negative feedback effects, especially with inductive loads, is the reactive energy compensation. The communication limitations include signal transmission delay, the out-of-sequence measurements and data packet dropout, which appear typically in a network environment. The kernel of filter design is equally to formularize the traditional Kalman filter as one linear weighted summation which is composed of the initial state estimate and all sequential sampled measurements. For it can adapt aforementioned information limitations, the linear weighted summation is then decomposed into two stages. One is a predict-estimator composed by all reached measurements, another is one compensator constructed by those time-delayed data. In the network environment, there are obvious differences between the new hybrid filter and those existing delayed Kalman filters. For example, the novel filter can be optimal in the sense of linear minimum mean square error as soon as all measurements available and has the lowest running time than these existing delayed filters. One simulation, including two cases, is utilized to illustrate the design procedures proposed in this paper.展开更多

FA is the most subtle of the three types of asymmetry, and differs from the patterns of the others in that paired structures tend to be symmetric in size. The analysis of FA allows to estimate the influence of stress factors on animal development and enables evaluation of resistance to stress. The aim of this work was to estimate the symmetry of skulls of a contemporary pure goat breed, as there is currently no study of FA as an estimate of individual quality for domestic goats. For this purpose, 11 landmarks were digitized in two dimensions from the crania of 24 adult goats (12 males and 12 females) belonging to the "White Rasquera" breed. The skulls showed nearly perfect bilateral symmetry. The low detected values of FA in skulls revealed a weak influence of developmental stress on this goat contemporary population and its strong ability to compensate stress.展开更多
