In the past 30 years,signed directed graph(SDG) ,one of the qualitative simulation technologies,has been widely applied for chemical fault diagnosis.However,SDG based fault diagnosis,as any other qualitative method,has poor diagnostic resolution.In this paper,a new method that combines SDG with qualitative trend analysis(QTA) is presented to improve the resolution.In the method,a bidirectional inference algorithm based on assumption and verification is used to find all the possible fault causes and their corresponding consistent paths in the SDG model.Then an improved QTA algorithm is used to extract and analyze the trends of nodes on the consis-tent paths found in the previous step.New consistency rules based on qualitative trends are used to find the real causes from the candidate causes.The resolution can be improved.This method combines the completeness feature of SDG with the good diagnostic resolution feature of QTA.The implementation of SDG-QTA based fault diagno-sis is done using the integrated SDG modeling,inference and post-processing software platform.Its application is illustrated on an atmospheric distillation tower unit of a simulation platform.The result shows its good applicability and efficiency. 展开更多

Fault degradation prognostic, which estimates the time before a failure occurs and process breakdowns, has been recognized as a key component in maintenance strategies nowadays. Fault degradation processes are, in general,slowly varying and can be modeled by autoregressive models. However, industrial processes always show typical nonstationary nature, which may bring two challenges: how to capture fault degradation information and how to model nonstationary processes. To address the critical issues, a novel fault degradation modeling and online fault prognostic strategy is developed in this paper. First, a fault degradation-oriented slow feature analysis(FDSFA) algorithm is proposed to extract fault degradation directions along which candidate fault degradation features are extracted. The trend ability assessment is then applied to select major fault degradation features. Second, a key fault degradation factor(KFDF) is calculated to characterize the fault degradation tendency by combining major fault degradation features and their stability weighting factors. After that, a time-varying regression model with temporal smoothness regularization is established considering nonstationary characteristics. On the basis of updating strategy, an online fault prognostic model is further developed by analyzing and modeling the prediction errors. The performance of the proposed method is illustrated with a real industrial process. 展开更多

A statistical signal processing technique was proposed and verified as independent component analysis(ICA) for fault detection and diagnosis of industrial systems without exact and detailed model.Actually,the aim is to utilize system as a black box.The system studied is condenser system of one of MAPNA's power plants.At first,principal component analysis(PCA) approach was applied to reduce the dimensionality of the real acquired data set and to identify the essential and useful ones.Then,the fault sources were diagnosed by ICA technique.The results show that ICA approach is valid and effective for faults detection and diagnosis even in noisy states,and it can distinguish main factors of abnormality among many diverse parts of a power plant's condenser system.This selectivity problem is left unsolved in many plants,because the main factors often become unnoticed by fault expansion through other parts of the plants. 展开更多

The paper presents a comparative analysis of the "Youth Guarantee Plan" implemented by two Italian regions: Emilia Romagna and Sicily. Within the tradition of the sociology of public action, the study proposes a deepening of the institutional and cognitive analysis of public policies. From the comparison, two distinct models of public action emerge: The first model that implemented by the Emilia Romagna Region, appears more procedural and more founded on the involvement of institutions present in the territory (employment centres, universities, chambers of commerce, professional bodies), whilst the second model, implemented by the Sicily Region, seems founded mainly on the emphasis placed on the economistic definition of the policy. From the study, most of all, the processes through which the distinct regional public actions succeed in interpreting the innovative potential of the Youth Guarantee Plan and the relations existing between the effectiveness of the policies and the collective meanings that institutions and individuals assign to them, emerge. 展开更多

The Macedonian economy gets out relatively little hurt by the global economic crisis not facing with financial crisis, the recession was short-lived, and social crisis emerged in modest sizes. However, the global crisis revealed the major weaknesses of the economic model which was implemented. It turned out that the Macedonian economy is very dependent on the performance of only a few sectors and movements on the prices of its most important export and import products, and that the scope of supply and demand for domestic goods and services is small. These lectures from the economic crisis posed by the need to create a new model for country economic development in the future. The application of historical, statistical, analytical and comparative method shows that Macedonia should exercise other holistic approach in the remodeling of their economy. This means that, besides keeping macroeconomic and financial policy in the future the Macedonian government should act more vigorously in the direction of creating new jobs and provide greater social security. The economic model that we propose in this paper recommends it be done by encouraging small and medium enterprises, diversification of production, encouraging domestic investments, developing human capital, improving infrastructure, encouraging exports and harmonization the macroeconomic instruments. The application of this model will result in increasing investments, industrial production and exports, increasing the competitiveness of domestic products, reducing the trade deficit and maintaining the macroeconomic stability. The general conclusion of the paper is that application of the proposed economic model should lead to realization of two most important goals: achieving lasting, sustainable and significantly higher rates of economic growth and reducing the high rate of unemployment in the country. 展开更多

As an example of application of this tool ,a realtime expert system for fault monitoring and diagnosis on DC mine hoist is developed. Experiments show that this tool possesses better supporting environment, strong knowledge acquisition ability, and convenience for use. Fault diagnosis plays an important role in complicated industrial process.It is a challenging task to detect,identify and locate faults quickly and accurately for large-scale process system.To solve the problem,a novel Multi Boost-based integrated ENN(extension neural network) fault diagnosis method is proposed.Fault data of complicated chemical process have some difficult-to-handle characteristics,such as high-dimension,non-linear and non-Gaussian distribution,so we use margin discriminant projection(MDP) algorithm to reduce dimensions and extract main features.Then,the affinity propagation(AP) clustering method is used to select core data and boundary data as training samples to reduce memory consumption and shorten learning time.Afterwards,an integrated ENN classifier based on Multi Boost strategy is constructed to identify fault types.The artificial data sets are tested to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method and make a detailed sensitivity analysis for the key parameters.Finally,a real industrial system—Tennessee Eastman(TE) process is employed to evaluate the performance of the proposed method.And the results show that the proposed method is efficient and capable to diagnose various types of faults in complicated chemical process. 展开更多

Agents perceive, behave "reasonably", communicate with other agents. Agents can represent equipment and operations in batch processes as recommended by the ISA $88. Jadex system is based on Java language and on FIPA org. recommendations. The description of ripening tank T406 and recipe for yogurt production in the holding of MADETA Corp. in the Czech Rep. It is described modeling and displaying of"normal" and error, fault unit state of the ripening tank. Agents are within the Jadex system and describing the behavior of ripening tank T406 with state diagrams-automata and assist in diagnosing of fault states. To meet the demand of raw material, i.e., wood, from the available sources always remained a big challenge for paper industries since the last two decades. For a sustainable supply of raw material in future, major plantation activities were undertaken by paper industries, like West Coast Paper Mills Limited (WCPM), by constituting a society, i.e., Society for Afforestation, Research and Allied Works (SARA), Dandeli in 2001. The main aim was to promote afforestation programme through major plantations activities on the degraded lands (under rainfed condition) and to generate employments and capacity building. The WCPM is a leading paper manufacturing industry of the country (under the flagship of Bangur group) located at the bank of Kali River in Dandeli of Uttar Kannada district in State Karnataka. To date, company through SARA has raised captive plantations on more than 50,000 acres of degraded land by farmers in different districts of Maharashtm, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu States under Captive Plantation Project through Contract for Farming (CFF) since 2006 under a simple agreement period of only five years. After five years, society arranged to harvest the first rotation crop of the farmer of 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 plantations and paid the amount of the crop directly to farmers. SARA has a mutual contract with WCPM for purchasing pulpwood. With this, farmers are getting full amount of their crop harvested after five years without any hurdle through SARA. SARA did all the expenditures, i.e., from land development, plantation and harvesting. Under its agroforestry plantation programme, superior planting material of various pulpwood species suited to particular area, i.e., Eucalyptus, Subabul, Casuarina and Acacia were planted on farmer's land. Farmers were also encouraged for intercropping, like maize, peanut (groundnut), chilly, tomato and ginger with plantations. Apart from this, SARA is also providing free fodder to the livestock of farmers. Various types of fodder species such as Stylosanthes scabra, S. hamata are grown with plantation. SARA has also set up its own hi-tech clonal nursery developing around 5-6 millions of clonal ramets every year through clonal propagation technology. Till date, SARA has received 0.15 million ton (MT) of pulpwood from the plantations on farmer's land with a yield of 25-30 MT/acre. This type of activities will prove a boon for farmers as well as for industry, when raw material is going to be short in India. It will also conserve our natural resources, high conservative valued forests (HCVF) and will reduce the pressure on forest for wood. In addition, this will maintain the balance between environment and nature. To meet the requirement of pulpwood for industry, this type of plantation activities will open new ways for industry to secure raw material for future use. Also, this would be helpful to enhance productivity and generate employments for rural communities to improve their living standard and capacity building. 展开更多

In real life situation, electrical machines usually share voltage and current from common terminals and would easily influence each other. This will result in considerable amount of interferences among motors and doubt in identity of fault signals. Therefore, estimating the mutual influence of motors will help identifying the original signal from the environmental noise. This research aims at modelling the propagation of signals that are caused by faults of induction motors in power networks. Estimating the propagation pattern of fault signal leads to a method to discriminate and identify the original source of major events in industrial networks. Simulation results show that source of fault could be identified using this approach with a higher certainty than anticipated output coming of any individual diagnosis. 展开更多
