The effect of low temperature on membrane lipid fatty acid composition in the leaves of some sympodial bamboo species was studied.The results showed that the two major lipid fatty acids were palmitic acid and linoleni...The effect of low temperature on membrane lipid fatty acid composition in the leaves of some sympodial bamboo species was studied.The results showed that the two major lipid fatty acids were palmitic acid and linolenic acid.The ratio of unsaturated fatty acid and the Index of unsaturated fatty acid(IUFA) of tested sympodial bamboos increased under low temperature treatment,and the ratio of membrane unsaturated fatty acid composition of cold-resistant sympodial bamboos was higher than that of cold-sensitive sympodial bamboos.The results indicated that the content of unsaturated fatty acid of sympodial bamboos had a close relationship with its cold sensitivity after acclimation in winter.Under low temperature stress,the content of membrane unsaturated fatty acid increased significantly to maintain membrane fluidity.展开更多
