A robust sliding mode control algorithm is developed for a class of networked control system with packet dropouts in both sensor-controller channel and controller-actuator channel,and at the same time mismatched parametric uncertainty and external disturbance are also taken into consideration.A two-level Bernoulli process has been used to describe the packet dropouts existing in both channels.A novel integral sliding surface is proposed,based on which the H∞performance of system sliding mode motion is analyzed.Then the sufficient condition for system stability and robustness is derived in the form of linear matrix inequality(LMI).A sliding mode controller is designed which can guarantee a relatively ideal system dynamic performance and has certain robustness against unknown parameter perturbations and external disturbances.The results from numerical simulations are presented to corroborate the validity of the proposed controller. 展开更多

Curvature-driven diffusion (CDD) principles were used to develop a novel gradient based image restora- tion algorithm. The algorithm fills in blocks of missing data in a wireless image after transmission through the network. When images are transmitted over fading channels, especially in the severe circum- stances of a coal mine, blocks of the image may be destroyed by the effects of noise. Instead of using com- mon retransmission query protocols the lost data is reconstructed by using the adaptive curvature-driven diffusion (ACDD) image restoration algorithm in the gradient domain of the destroyed image. Missing blocks are restored by the method in two steps: In step one, the missing blocks are filled in the gradient domain by the ACDD algorithm; in step two, and the image is reconstructed from the reformed gradients by solving a Poisson equation. The proposed method eliminates the staircase effect and accelerates the convergence rate. This is demonstrated by experimental results. 展开更多

To reduce the time required to complete the regeneration process of erasure codes, we propose a Tree-structured Parallel Regeneration (TPR) scheme for multiple data losses in distributed storage systems. Under the scheme, two algorithms are proposed for the construction of multiple regeneration trees, namely the edge-disjoint algorithm and edge-sharing algorithm. The edge-disjoint algorithm constructs multiple independent trees, and is simple and appropriate for environments where newcomers and their providers are distributed over a large area and have few intersections. The edge-sharing algorithm constructs multiple trees that compete to utilize the bandwidth, and make a better utilization of the bandwidth, although it needs to measure the available band-width and deal with the bandwidth changes; it is therefore difficult to implement in practical systems. The parallel regeneration for multiple data losses of TPR primarily includes two optimizations: firstly, transferring the data through the bandwidth optimized-paths in a pipe-line manner; secondly, executing data regeneration over multiple trees in parallel. To evaluate the proposal, we implement an event-based simulator and make a detailed comparison with some popular regeneration methods. The quantitative comparison results show that the use of TPR employing either the edge-disjoint algorithm or edge-sharing algorithm reduces the regeneration time significantly. 展开更多

Empl layer calculation instead layer statistics to estimate oying physical of application the packet loss probability of space channel, which can improvethe accuracy and practicality. 2. Then, an iterative algorithm is presented to solve the deconvolution. Because the window-function is available to describe arbitrary shape, our algorithm is suitable for restoring irregular segment of data loss, including square-block. The H_∞ performance analysis and controller design for linear networked control systems(NCSs) are presented.The NCSs are considered a linear continuous system with time-varying interval input delay by assuming that the sensor is time-driven and the logic Zero-order-holder(ZOH) and controller are event-driven.Based on this model,the delay interval is divided into two equal subintervals for H_∞ performance analysis.An improved H_∞ stabilization condition is obtained in linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) framework by adequately considering the information about the bounds of the input delay to construct novel Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals(LKFs).For the purpose of reducing the conservatism of the proposed results,the bounds of the LKFs differential cross terms are properly estimated without introducing any slack matrix variables.Moreover,the H_∞ controller is reasonably designed to guarantee the robust asymptotic stability for the linear NCSs with an H_∞ performance level γ.Numerical simulation examples are included to validate the reduced conservatism and effectiveness of our proposed method. 展开更多

By considering that the and analyzing the relationship between the delay and its upper bound, employing a Lyapunov-Krasovskii function and an integral inequality approach, an improved stability criterion for NCSs is proposed. Furthermore, the resulting condition is extended to design a less conservative state feedback controller by employing an improved cone complementary linearization (ICCL) algorithm. In opportunistic networks, most existing buffer management policies including scheduling and passive dropping policies are mainly for routing protocols. In this paper, we proposed a Utility-based Buffer Management strategy(UBM) for data dissemination in opportunistic networks. In UBM, we first design a method of computing the utility values of caching messages according to the interest of nodes and the delivery probability of messages, and then propose an overall buffer management policy based on the utility. UBM driven by receivers completely implements not only caching policies, passive and proactive dropping policies, but also scheduling policies of senders. Simulation results show that, compared with some classical dropping strategies, UBM can obtain higher delivery ratio and lower delay latency by using smaller network cost. 展开更多

A weighted least squares(WLS) method is designed to estimate the parameters of plant, which could overcome the data uncertainty problem caused by delays and dropout. The variance-dependent Goldstein radar interferogram filter takes into account the information of both interferometric coherence and multilook factors,and can produce very consistent results for interferograms generated under a wide variety of multilook factors and with very different noise level.However,the filter is a bit complicated and its application is still very limited.We present the designing and implementation of the variance-dependent Goldstein radar interferogram filtering,emphasizing on the logic flow,the generation of look-up table,the determination of filtering parameter,and the handling of edge information loss.Experiments with real interferograms are provided to demonstrate the applications of the designed filtering.Comparisons with the result of the coherence-dependent Goldstein filter show that improvements from 18.4% to 36.9% are achieved when the variance-dependent filter is used,and the noisier the interferogram,the greater the improvement. 展开更多

The conservative Additive Increase Multiplicative Decrease mechanism of traditional TCP causes the link under-utilization in the Wide Area Networks(WANs) due to the WANs' intrinsic nature of high latency and high packet loss.To alleviate the problem,we present the design and implantation of STAG,an Acceleration Gateway with Split-TCP in the paper.STAG is built on embedded network equipment and acts as a transparent proxy.In STAG,a new improved congestion control method named Rapid TCP is adopted,which determines whether or not to decrease the congestion window based on the packet loss trend.In particular,in the fast recovery phase,it chooses different window adjustment strategies based on the current size of congestion window to achieve higher utilization.The performance validation of STAG is done on both our emulation testbed and the real wide area network.The results show that STAG with Rapid TCP effectively adapts to the high loss network environment and significantly speeds up the applications without loss of fairness. 展开更多

Efficient Priority Packet Recovery Based on Network Coding in DVB-IPDC System

In DVB-IPDC system, due to the constraints of handheld devices and the broadcast nature of wireless network, packet loss is inevitable. ECDR-NC proposed is a retransmission encoding packet selection algorithm based on the dynamic information updating, which can find the current most effective complete decoding packet. ECDR-NC can not only avoid the redundant encoding packets due to the overlapping among encoding packets, but also reduce the computational complexity compared with the traditional encoding schemes. Furthermore, the retransmission upper bound of ECDR-NC is fully controlled. In time-sensitive applications, to maximize the aggregate number of recovery packets while minimizing the total number of discarded packets due to the time limit according to the priority preference, the adaptive priority scheme EPNC is formulized, and the weighted relation graph is constructed to find the maximum-weighted encoding packets sequence according to the decoding gains. In the same network environment, the performances comparisons between PNC and EPNC show that EPNC is more efficient and more rational, and the average discarded packets ratios ofEPNC can be reduced about 18%~27%. The main contributions of this paper are an effective retransmission encoding packet selection algorithm ECDR-NC proposed, and a new adaptive priority recovery scheme EPNC introduced into DVB-IPDC system. 展开更多
