To explore the therapeutic effects of the method of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis on hemorrhagic apoplexy of acute stage, 45 cases were treated by the method and observed for their conscious state and motor function, which were compared with 40 cases treated with regular western drugs. The results showed that the effective rate in the treated group was 82.2% and that in control group 60% with a significant difference (P<0.05) between the two groups. In the treated group, the scores of the conscious state and the motor function after treatment were elevated dramatically (P<0.01), indicating a much better effect in the treated group than in the control group. 展开更多

To observe the therapeutic effects of the prescription of Huo Nao Fang (活脑方) on ischemic apoplexy,120 patients were divided into a treatment group and a control group, with 60 in each group, the formertreated with Huo Nao Fang while the latter with western medicine. The nervous function and bloodrheology were tested before and after treatment for both groups, and the effects of Huo Nao Fang wereevaluated. The results showed that the total effective rate was 91.7% in the treatment group and 61.6% inthe control group, with a significant difference (P<0.01) between the two groups. The treatment group wassuperior to the control group in improving blood rheology, reducing blood lipid and restoring the nervousfunction (P<0.05). 展开更多

Objectives: To compare the therapeutic effect of scalp electroacupuncture with that of conventional body acupuncture for apoplexy (wind stroke) and to observe the influence of both acupuncture therapies on hemorheology of ischemic apoplexy. Methods: 183 patients, whose diseases are attributed to apoplexy according to the diagnostic criteria, are randomly divided into treatment group (93 cases) and control group (90 cases) and treated respectively with scalp electroacupuncture and conventional body acupuncture. 11 items of hemorheology of patients’ blood samples are tested with NXE-1 Viscometer which are taken in the early morning before and after treatment under fasting condition. Results: Both scalp electroacupuncture and conventional body acupuncture exert therapeutic effect for apoplexy, but the effect of scalp electroacupuncture is obviously better than that of conventional acupuncture (P< 0.05 ); both treatment group and control group are statistically significant in reducing plasma viscosity, high shear reduced viscosity, low shear reduced viscosity, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, hematocrit and fibrinogen, (P<0.01 and 0.05); while the treatment group is statistically significant in reducing whole blood viscosity, ratio of whole blood viscosity, erythrocyte index of rigidity and electrophoresis time of erythrocyte (P<0.01~ 0.05), but the control group is not significant statistically in influencing these indexes (P>0.05). 展开更多

Objective: To compare the therape utic effects of acupuncture of different acupoints in the treatment of spast ic hemiplegia of apoplexy. Methods: Eighty stro ke patients with spastic hemiplegia were evenly randomized into control grou p and treatment group. Forty cases of treatment group were given with acupun cture of Jiaji (夹脊 EX-B2) from T1 to L5, while forty cases of control gro up were treated with conventional acupoints as Jianyu (肩NFDA1 LI 15), Quchi (曲池 LI 11), Huantiao (环跳 GB 30), Zusanli (足三里 ST 36), Kunlun (昆仑 BL 60), etc. o n the diseased side, once daily, with 10 sessions being one therapeutic course, and 3 courses all together. The modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) and neurological d eficit grading scale (NDS) were used as the indexes to assess the therapeutic ef fects. Results: After treatment, the scores of NDS of both treat ment and control groups reduced and the difference value between post- and pre-treatment of tr ea tment group was significantly bigger than that of control group. MAS showed a si milar tendency in both groups. Of the 40 cases in treatment and control groups, 6 and 1 were cured, 20 and 15 had marked improvement, 9 and 11 had improvement, 4 and 8 failed, 1 and 5 got worse, with the total effective rates being 87.5% an d 67.5% respectively. The therapeutic effect of treatment group was significantl y superior to that of control group (P<0.01). Conc lusion: Acupuncture of Jiaji ( EX-B2) is superior to acupuncture of conventional acupoints in alleviating the state of spastic hemiplegia of apoplexy. 展开更多

Based on the data analysis platform provided by TCMISS(V2.5),this paper analyzes the rule of prescribing drugs used by Professor Yongyan Wang for the treatment of apoplexy and deepens the understanding of his academic research on syndrome differentiation and treatment.Professor Wang’s medical records were summarized and sorted into the"Chinese Medicine inheritance Assistance system".Through the functions of"frequency statistics","drug use mode","rule analysis"and so on,the characteristics of professor Yongyan Wang's prescription for treating apoplexy were statistically analyzed. It is helpful to understand and inherit Professor Wang's academic thoughts by analyzing the data of professor Wang's medical records of apoplexy. 展开更多

Combined treatment of ischemic stroke with Chinese medicine and exogenous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell(BMSC) transplantation may improve the removal of blood stasis and stimulation of neogenesis.Chinese medicines that remove blood stasis not only promote blood circulation but also calm the endopathic wind, remove heat, resolve phlegm, remove toxic substances and strengthen body resistance. The medicinal targeting effect of Chinese medicine can promote the homing of BMSCs,and the synergistic therapeutic effects of drugs can contribute to BMSC differentiation. As such, exogenous BMSC transplantation has potential advantages for neogenesis.Chinese medicines and exogenous BMSCs provide complementary functions for the removal of blood stasis and stimulation of neogenesis. Therefore,a combination of Chinese medicine and transplantation of exogenous BMSCs may be particularly suited to ischemic stroke treatment. 展开更多
