The great areal extent, duration, and strength of this high temperature are very rare. For the 2013 hot spell, the major and direct influence mostly came from the anomaly of the western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH). The abnormally strong and stable WPSH was associated with specific surrounding circulations. The eastward extension of a stronger Qinghai-Xizang high favored the westward extension of the WPSH. The weaker cold air activity from the polar region led to the northward shift of the WPSH and helped it to remain stable. In the tropics, the western segment of the ITCZ was abnormally strong in the period, and supported the maintenance of the WPSH from the south. In addition, the interdecadal variation of the WPSH provided a decadal background for the anomaly variation of the WPSH that summer. 展开更多

In order to observe the therapeutic effects of Huanglian Fire-Purging Mixture (黄连清降合剂) on primary hypertension, 46 cases of primary hypertension in the treatment group were treated with Huanglian Fire-Purging Mixture to clear away heat from the liver, relieve mental stress, purge fire and remove toxin;and the other 26 cases of primary hypertension in the control group were treated with Niuhuang Bolus for Lowering Blood Pressure (牛黄降压丸). The effect in the treatment group was obviously superior to that in the control group (P<0.05). The Huanglian Fire-Purging Mixture shows noticeable effects 3-6 hours after medication. The mixture can improve the clinical symptoms, the left ventricular diastolic function and myocardial ischemia, correct dyslipoproteinemia and dysglycemia, and reduce blood viscosity. And it is safe and with no obvious adverse reactions. 展开更多

Recently, smart grid solutions have started to extend the visibility of the electrical grid to the entire network; including high voltage transmission lines, medium voltage distribution networks, and the low voltage networks to households. The typical data monitored includes: voltage, current, phase, and power measurements, together with network events and alarms. This paper analyses the key challenges facing smart grid solutions in providing effective access to large volumes of sensory data that is distributed over a large geographic area. A case study is described that outlines how the use of geospatial technology together with Web 2.0 technologies may be applied to improve user access and control to this data. The results show that a geospatial solution provides an effective mechanism for visualizing telemetry data monitored within the smart grid. 展开更多
