Combined with the cases and arguments in the book, we interpret the use of color in myths, astrological observations, and philosophical thoughts from an astronomical perspective, so as to analyze the changes and causes of the ancient people’s conception of color under the vein of astronomical exploration.展开更多

In this book the author made a deep-going study of the Neolithic archaeological vestiges of Big Dipper, prehistoric pitch pipes related to the determination of solar terms and the eclipes recorded in Shang oracle inscriptions. He analyzed the formation of the traditional Chinese theory of constellations and the theory of stellar quadrants. He researched into the origin of Chinese theory of the 28 lunar mansions, the contents of the Changsha silk books and the formation of the early theory of the sky as the cover of the earth. Based on archaeological data, oracle bone inscriptions, bronze inscriptions,historical documents and ethnological evidence, the book expounded systematically important achievements of ancient China in astronomy, and discussed the relationship of the origin of astronomy with that of civilization.展开更多
