Firstly,three vectors for each text are formed: the personal name Boolean vectors denoting whether a personal name occurs the text the biographical word Boolean vector representing title, occupation and so forth, and the feature vector with real values. Then, by combining a heuristic strategy based on Boolean vectors with an agglomeratie clustering algorithm based on feature vectors, it seeks to resolve multi-document personal name coreference. Experimental results show that this approach achieves a good performance by testing on "Wang Gang" corpus.展开更多
This article investigates the soil properties in two soil profiles from the terraces of the Nam Co Lake in Tibet,China. Profile 1,with a slope aspect to east,is 37 m,and profile 2,to southwest,is 32 m above the lake l...This article investigates the soil properties in two soil profiles from the terraces of the Nam Co Lake in Tibet,China. Profile 1,with a slope aspect to east,is 37 m,and profile 2,to southwest,is 32 m above the lake level. Twelve and nine layers were identified in profile 1 and profile 2,respectively,based on the color,texture,structure,moisture content,presence of carbonate,and root density. Grain sizes and measurements of water content,total organic carbon,total inorganic carbon,total carbon,pH value and electrical conductivity were all analyzed for each sample. The results show that soil is poorly developed because of sparse vegetation coverage and weak chemical weathering in the cold and arid area. The results also indicate that the soil properties are different between the two profiles and suggest that soil is better developed in profile 1 than in profile 2. These differences are ascribed to the dissimilarity of landform,vegetation and timing. Profile 1 faces to east as compared with profile 2 facing to southwest and gets less insolation and therefore less evaporation. Thus,vegetation grows better in profile 1 than in profile 2. Radiocarbon dating and OSL dating show that profile 1 underwent a longer soil forming process than profile 2,which is helpful for the soil development in profile 1.展开更多

The paper presents the evolution of logistics into reverse logistics and how it relates to waste management both in the developed and developing world. Reverse logistics is a relatively new phenomenon in the research area which is mainly referring to damaged goods, the take back of products that should be returned to the manufacturers or distributors. This serial research develops the unique ocean wave power station, which is composed of the floating type platform with a pair of the floats arranged at the interval of one wavelength and the counter-rotating type wav...This serial research develops the unique ocean wave power station, which is composed of the floating type platform with a pair of the floats arranged at the interval of one wavelength and the counter-rotating type wave power unit whose runners are submerged in the seawater at the middle position of the platform. Such profiles make the flow velocity through the runners two times faster than that of the traditional fixed/caisson type OWC (oscillating water column), that is, the runners may be able to get the dynamical energy eight times on the ideal. Besides, the runners counter-drive the inner and the outer armatures of the peculiar generator, respectively, and then the relative rotational speed is two times as fast as the speed of the single runner/armature. Such characteristics make the runner diameter large, namely the output higher, as you request, because the rotational moment of the power unit hardly act on the floating type platform. This paper, as the first step, discusses the platform behaviors at the normally oscillating wave. The platform behavior is affected by not only the length and the amplitude of the wave but also the relation between the weight of the platform and the buoyancy force of the floats.展开更多

There are more than 800,000 units of audiovisual documents in the archive. The main laws regulating the activity of Lithuanian Central State Archive and related to audiovisual archiving are the Law on Documents and Archives of Lithuanian Republic, the Law of Cinema of Lithuanian Republic, and the Law on Copyright and Related Rights of Lithuanian Republic. There are four big collections of audiovisual documents in the Lithuanian Central State Archive--films, photo documents, sound recordings, and video recordings. The Archive's specialists have a large experience in the field of physical treatment and preservation of analogue audiovisual documents. Lithuanian Central State Archive digitizes audiovisual documents seeking the balance between long time preservation and nowadays access. Since May, 2010 till April 2013, Lithuanian Central State Archive implemented the project--Lithuanian documentaries on the Internet. During the project the Archives digitized and transferred to the Internet 1,000 titles of Lithuanian documentaries, created in the period 1919-1961. The authors analyzed the status of water prevention and control in Chengchao Iron Mine,China,and put forward the necessary measures. The hydrogeological parameter controls the design of mine water prevention and affects the mineral well safety in operation. Enhance supervision and control,keeping the current facilities intact,using the existing pump house and the underground tunnel to adjust and control the amount of water and improving the hydrogeological conditions in the mine are the practical and remedial measures.展开更多
A promising bacterial strain for the biodegradation of Microcystins(MCs)was isolated from Dianchi lake in China and identified as Sphingopyxis sp.USTB-05 by the analysis of 16s rDNA.Initial MC-RR of 42.3 mg·L -1 ...A promising bacterial strain for the biodegradation of Microcystins(MCs)was isolated from Dianchi lake in China and identified as Sphingopyxis sp.USTB-05 by the analysis of 16s rDNA.Initial MC-RR of 42.3 mg·L -1 was completely degraded by USTB-05 within 36 h,which was a relatively high biodegradation rate of MC-RR.With the cell-free extract(CE)of Sphingopyxis sp.USTB-05,MC-RR was biodegraded at a more rapid biodegradation rate compared with its strain,so that initial MC-RR of 42.3 mg·L -1 was completely biodegraded within 10 h.During the bio-reaction of MC-RR catalyzed by CE,two intermediate metabolites and a dead-end product of MC-RR were observed on HPLC profiles and all of them had similar scanning profiles in the wavelength from 200 to 300 nm,indicating that the group of Adda in all products of MC-RR remained intact.展开更多
This research aims to analyse the contents of Fundo Clamor, located at the Documentation and Scientific Information Centre--CEDIC, from the Pontifical Catholic University of S~_o Paulo--SP, between the years of 1970 a...This research aims to analyse the contents of Fundo Clamor, located at the Documentation and Scientific Information Centre--CEDIC, from the Pontifical Catholic University of S~_o Paulo--SP, between the years of 1970 and 1992, as well as its contribution to the process of rescuing historical memory of child and teenager abduction, imprisonment, and torture in the course of military dictatorships in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. The methodology used in this descriptive and qualitative research intends to take two directions: a bibliographical and a descriptive analytic documental research. Through the consultation and analysis of documents from Fundo Clamor (correspondence, denunciations, bulletins, and leaflets from Abuelas de la Plaza de Mayo, reports, writs of habeas corpus, pieces of reportage, and files from clandestine detention centres and on enforced disappearances), a compilation will be made with information regarding the disappearance of children and the imprisonment and/or abduction of pregnant militants in an attempt to describe the situation of apprehension and incarceration, the historical context, and the repression forces involved in the operation of arrest, kidnapping and/or torture of militants, children, and teenagers. Besides this heritage, a documental research will be made at Terror Archives, the Centre for Documentation and Archives for the Defence of Human Rights (CDyA) of Paraguay Supreme Justice Court, which contains a register of Alfredo Stroessner's thirty-five-year-long military dictatorship in Paraguay. The main argument in this research states that the archives from the Committee for the Defence of Refugees Human Rights from the Southern Cone, available at Fundo Clamor, contribute significantly to the rescue of historical memory from the dictatorial period and to the achievement of complete citizenship in these countries, considering that Brazil was the protagonist of the National Security Doctrine implantation process in South America.展开更多

The study investigated the investment strategy of the Temasek Holdings as one of the most successful SWFs which is owned by the government of Singapore. Temasek Holdings was founded in 1974 to manage part of the government's revenues. Present turbulent times create a big pressure on healthy investment strategy of the SWFs. But total shareholder return for Temasek since its inception in 1974 has been a healthy 17% compounded annually. The main objective of the paper is to focus on the role of the Temasek Holdings as a company managed on commercial principles with an aim to achieve long-term sustainable returns. The study also analyzed Temasek Holdings'investment strategy. The study provides answers to questions like: why Temasek is of the most successful SWFs and what is the fund risk management? Another part of the paper compares investment strategy of the Temasek Holdings with other SWFs. The study has been conducted mainly on the basis of literature survey, secondary information and with using various web sites and research paper. The analysis has been also based on disclosures appearing in the Temasek annual reports over the period from 2008 to 2010.展开更多
