Methods. Ninety-six patients suffering from primary dysmenorrhea were randomly and evenly divided into trealment group treated with medicine-separated moxibustion of Shenque (神阙 CV 8, 3-5 cones every time, beginning 1 week before onset of menstruation and stopping on the 3^rd day after onset, with 10 sessions being a therapeutic oourse, 3 courses all together), and control group treated with oral administration of Yueyueshu (月月舒 menstruation-smoothing granule, 10 g/time, b.i.d, 3 courses altogether). Menses prostaglandin E2(PGF2α) and plasma oxytocin (OT) during menstruation were determined by radioimmunoassay. Results; After the treatment, of the two 48 cases in treatment and control groups, 18 and 5 were cured, 24 and 9 had marked improvement in their symptoms, 6 and 26 had improvement, 0 and 8 failed in the treatment, with the total effective rates being 100. 096 and 83.3% respectively, the therapeutic effect of treatment group was markedly superior to that of control group (P〈0.05). After the treatment, the contents of menses PGF2α in treatment group and plasma OT in both groups were significantly lower than those of pre-treatment ( P〈 0.01 ). The therapeutic effect of moxibustion was significant- ly better than that of medication in lowering plasma OT. Conclusion: Medicine-separated moxibustion works well in treating primary dysmenorrhea, and moxibustion induced decrease of menses PGF2α and plasma OT may contribute to its effect in relieving dysmenorrhea.展开更多

In treatment group, patients were treated with acupuncture of Jiaji (夹脊 EX-B 2) and oral administration of Yishen Tongdu Won (益肾通督丸,Bolus for Reinforcing the Kidney and Dredging Governor Vessesl) and those of control group treated with oral administration of Sulfasalazin (0.5 g, twice daily). Before and after treatment, the thoracic-dilaion scale, Schober test, Bath ankylceing spondylitis disease activity index (BASDAI), Bath ankylosing spondylitis functional index (BASFI), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reaction protein (CRP) were detected separately. Results: After 6 months of treatment, of the both 40cases in treatment and control groups, 27 (67.5%) and 13 (32.5%) were improved remarkably, 11 (27.5%) and 16 (40.0%) effective, and 2 (5.0%) and 11 (27.5%) failed, with the effective rates being 95.0% and 72.5% separately. The therapeutic effect of treatment group was significantly superior to that of control group (P〈 0.05). After treatment, the thoracicdilaion scale and Schober test values increased significantly ( P〈 0.05), while BASDAI, BASFI, ESR and CRP lowered considerably (P〈0.01, P〈0.05). Comparison between two groups indicated that after treatment, the decreased values of BASDAI, BASFI, ESR and CRP of treatment group were significantly lower than those of control group ( P〈 0.01 ), while those of the thoracio-dilaion scale and Schober test of treatment group were significantly higher than those of control group ( P 〈 0.05, P 〈 0.01 ). Results displayed that both acupuncture combined with Chinese drugs and Sulfasalazin could lower BASDAI, BASFI, ESR and CRP, raise the thoracic-dilaion scale and Schober test values considerably in AS patients, and the therapeutic effect of combined acupunclure and Chinese drugs was apparently superior to that of Westem medicine. Conclusion: Joint application of acupuncture and Chinese drugs is superior to Western medicine in the therapeutic effect for AS and has fewer side effects.展开更多

Methods: A total of 20 cases of CP children were subjected into this study. Changes of systolic peak value (Vs), blood flow velocity at the end-diastolic phase (Ved), mean velocity (Vm), pulsation index (PI) and resistance index (RI) of the cerebral hemodynamics before and after performing JIN’s Three-Needling Therapy with the needles retained for 30 min (group A) and 5 min (group B) were observed by using transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (TCD). Results: After acupuncture, the blood flow in the middle cerebral artery (MCA), anterior cerebral artery (ACA) and posterior cerebral artery (PCA) was accelerated, and the resistance of blood vessels decreased. The effect of needle-retaining-30 min was better than that of needle-retaining-5 min. Conclusion: In treating cerebral paralysis by using JIN’s Three-Needling Therapy, sufficient stimulation provided by needle remaining is an important factor for achieving satisfactory therapeutic effects.展开更多

Methods: A total of 69 senile stroke patients were randomly divided into treatment group (n=38, accepting acupuncture plus herbal medicine treatment) and control group (n=31, accepting herbal medicine treatment only). Principal acupoints used were Baihui(GV 20), Jiquan(HT 1), Jianyu(LI 15), Quchi (LI 11), Zhongwan(RN 12), Siqiang (Extra acupoint) and Zusanli(ST 36),combined with other acupoints according to the symptoms. These acupoints were punctured with filiform needles and stimulated with uniform reinforcing reducing method, once everyday except Sundays, with 30 sessions being a therapeutic course. Chinese medicinal herbs used were Huangqi (Radix Astragali,黄芪)30 g, Dangshen (Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae,党参)30 g, Danshen (Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, 丹参)30 g, Chishao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra,赤芍)30 g, Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong,川芎)10 g,Dilong (Lumbricus,地龙)10 g, Niuxi (Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae,牛膝)15 g, Jixueteng (Caulis Spatholobi,鸡血藤)30 g and Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, 甘草)6 g which were decocted in water to be taken one dose everyday (in the morning and evening), continuously for 60 days, with 30 days being a therapeutic course. Results: After treatment, in treatment and control groups, of the 38 and 31 cases, 18 (47.37%) and 8 (25.81%) experienced remarkable improvement, 18 (47.37%) and 18 (58.06%) were effective, and 2 (5.26%) and 5 (16.13%) had no significant changes, with the total effective rates being 94.74% and 83.87% respectively. Simultaneously, indexes of blood rheology as whole blood ratio high shear viscosity (WBRHSV), whole blood ratio low shear viscosity (WBRLSV), plasma ratio viscosity (PRV), hematacrit (HCT) and fibrinogen (Fib) were remarkably reduced in comparison with pre treatment, meaning improvement of the microcirculation (P<0.05-0.01). Conclusion: The results display that acupuncture plus herbal medicine treatment has a better therapeutic effect than that of simple medicinal herb treatment for senile hemiplegia, and both treatments can improve patients’ blood rheology.展开更多

Results showed that 1) EA could cause r-CBF and serum NO content to increase and CWC to lower, suggesting an protective action of EA on IR cerebral injury; 2) intravenous injection of L-Arg also had an protective effect on cerebral IR cerebral injury, while L-NNA had no this effect; and 3) pre-treatment with L-Arg might strengthen the effect of EA further, while pretreatment with L-NNA could weaken its effect. It indicates that L-Arg-NO may be involved in the effect of EA in protecting the brain from ischemic injury.展开更多

Conclusion: In treating cerebral paralysis by using JIN’s Three-Needling Therapy, sufficient stimulation provided by needle remaining is an important factor for achieving satisfactory therapeutic effects.
文摘Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of clinical treatment of acute urticaria chiefly by electroacupuncture (EA). Methods: A total of 180 outpatients with acute urticaria were randomized into treatment group and control group. 100 cases in the treatment group were treated with EA at Quchi (曲池 LI 11) and Xuehai (血海 SP 10) as the main points which were supplemented with Dazhui (大椎 GV 14), Fengchi (风池 GB 20), Geshu (膈俞 BL 17), Pishu (脾俞 BL 20), etc. 80 cases in the control group were managed by chlorpheniramine maleate and Vitamin C. Results: After 3 days’ treatment, of the 100 and 80 cases in treatment and control groups, 79 and 53 were cured, 10 and 6 markedly effective, 5 and 8 effective, and 6 and 13 failed, with the effective rates being 94.00% and 83.75% respectively. The therapeutic effect of electroacupunture was significantly superior to that of medication(P<0.05). Conclusion: The method of electroacupuncture at Quchi (曲池 LI 11), Xuehai (血海 SP 10),etc. was a more effective therapy for acute urticaria.
文摘Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of oculo acupuncture therapy in the treatment of cerebral infarction induced hemiplegia. Methods: 58 cases of stroke patients were randomly divided into treatment group (n=30) and control group (n=28). In treatment group, on the basis of medication plus rehabilitation treatment, patients voluntarily accepted oculo acupuncture therapy (acupuncture of Upper Jiao Area and Lower Jiao Area). In control group, patients only accepted medication and rehabilitation treatment. The therapeutic effect was evaluated with Brunstrom’s 6 stages Assessing Method. Results: After 24 sessions of treatment, the ratios of the diseased limbs reaching stage VI and more in functional activity in the patients of treatment group increased from 16.7% (upper limb) and 20.0% (lower limb) before treatment to 70.0% and 90.0% respectively; while in control group, those ratios of the upper and lower limbs increased from 10.7% and 28.6% before treatment to 39.2% and 60.7% separately. There was a significant difference between two groups in the therapeutic effect (P<0.05). Conclusion: Oculo acupuncture plus medication is superior to simple medication treatment in improving functional activity of the hemiplegic limbs.
文摘Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture therapy plus Chinese medicinal herbs in the treatment of 38 cases of senile patients with hemiplegia. Conclusion: The results display that acupuncture plus herbal medicine treatment has a better therapeutic effect than that of simple medicinal herb treatment for senile hemiplegia, and both treatments can improve patients’ blood rheology.
文摘Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of comprehensive plum-blossom magnetic needle therapy on prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc. Methods: 247 cases of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc were treated first with manual treatment and then with plum-blossom magnetic needle therapy and effect-increasing pad therapy at specified points and reactive points. Results: After treatment for 2 therapeutic courses,153 cases were cured accounting for 61.94%, 71 cases were markedly effective accounting for 28.75%, 22 cases were improved accounting for 8.91% and the rest one failed, accounting for 0.45%. Conclusion: The comprehensive plum-blossom magnetic needle therapy has a better therapeutic effect on prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc.
文摘In the present paper, the authors present their viewpoints about the standardization of acu-moxibustion from ① orderliness of pattern-identification and acupoint prescription, ② unification of acupoint location, ③ systematization of acupoint needling, and ④ standardization of needling manipulations. The standardization is very important for the development of acupuncturology and for its popularization in the world.
文摘In the present study, the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) of acupoints of Ren, Spleen and Stomach Meridians on artificial abortion induced side effects was observed in 100 artificial abortion women. In comparison with 45 artificial abortion women in the control group (who had not accepted EA treatment), EA possessed significant effects in relieving abdominal pain, reducing vaginal bleeding duration, lowering infection rate and infertility rate after artificial abortion operation.
文摘In the present study, the involvement of L-arginine(L-Arg) NO on the protective action of electroacupuncture(EA) on cerebral ischemic injury was observed in acute ischemia-reperfusion(IR) rat model by taking regional cerebral blood flow(r-CBF),cerebral water content(CWC),and blood nitric oxide(NO) contents as indexes. It indicates that L-Arg-NO may be involved in the effect of EA in protecting the brain from ischemic injury.
文摘Objective: To observe the effect of combined acupuncture and Chinese herbal formula on the motor function and activities of daily living (ADL) of post-stroke patients and further evaluate the resultant clinical efficacy. Methods: A total of 80 acute stroke patients were randomly divided into a control group (40 cases) and an observation group (40 cases). Conventional Western medicine management was employed in the control group, while additional acupuncture and Chinese herbal formula were employed in the observation group. After completing the sessions of treatment, changes of the motor function (using the US National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, NIHSS) and activities of daily living (using Barthel Index) were measured. Results: The total effective rate in the observation group was 87.5%, versus 62.5% in the control group, showing a statistical difference (P〈0.05). After the treatment, the motor function and activities of daily living of patients in both groups were markedly improved (P〈0.05), and those in the observation group presented with a better result (P〈0.05). Conclusion: Conventional Western medicine management coupled with acupuncture and Chinese herbal formula are beneficial to the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with cerebral infarction.
