Despite their unusually small sizes, the evolutionary history of miRNA gene families seems to be similar to their protein-codingcounterparts. In contrast to the small but abundant miRNA families in the animal genomes, plants have fewer but larger miRNA gene families. Members of plant miRNA gene families are often highly similar, suggesting recent expansion via tandem gene duplication and segmental duplication events. Although many miRNA genes are conserved across plant species, the same gene family varies significantly in size and genomic organization in different species, which may cause dosage effects and spatial and temporal differences in target gene regulations. In this review, we summarize the current progress in understanding the evolution of plant miRNA gene families.展开更多

The spatiotemporal evolution of the filamentary plasma string induced by sub-pulses of the burst-mode is revealed according to the analysis of the instantaneous photoluminescence images. Due to the presence of residual plasma, the energy loss of sub-pulse during the balancing of self-focusing effect is reduced, and thus refreshes the plasma via refocusing. The refreshed plasma peak generated by the subsequent subpulse appears at relatively low density positions in the formed filamentary plasma string, which results in more uniform densities and less spatial overlap among the plasma peaks. The continuity and uniformity of the filamentary trace in sapphire are enhanced by the burst-mode. Besides, the burst filamentary propagation can also remain effective when the sub-pulse energy is below the self-focusing threshold. Based on this uniform and precise energy propagation mode, the feasibility of its use for the laser lift-off(LLO) process is verified.展开更多

The influences of different turning angle ratio(TR) and chord length ratio(CR) of two blades and the relative angle of attack of rear blade(Delta) are analyzed. The numerical results indicated that the tandem cascade can obtain overall performance improvement including higher static pressure ratio and lower total pressure loss with the matching parameters in the range of TR=3~5, CR=0.5~1.2, and Delta=-15°~-5°. The separation on the front blade has more prominent impact than that on the rear blade, so the performance improvement of tandem cascade is significantly dependent on the reduction of front-blade separation and loss. Regarding the rear blade, the gap injection effect can periodically control the separation. Temporal and spatial analysis of the flow field shows that the optimal-performance cases generally have much smaller wake loss for both two blades, but the unsteady characteristics of the wake loss is more apparent than that of the poor performance cases.展开更多
