The compensation of the amplitude spectrum within a reliable frequency range of the seismic record is performed in the S domain to restore the amplitude spectrum of reflection. We use spectral simulation methods to fit the time-dependent amplitude spectrum and compensate for the amplitude attenuation owing to absorption. We use phase scanning to select the time-, space-, and frequencydependent phases correction based on the parsimony criterion and eliminate the residual phase effect of the wavelet in the S domain. The method does not directly calculate the Q value; thus, it can be applied to the case of variable Q. The comparison of the theory model and field data verify that the proposed method can recover the amplitude spectrum of the strata reflectivity, while eliminating the effect of the residual phase of the wavelet. Thus, the wavelet approaches the zero-phase wavelet and, the seismic resolution is improved.展开更多

Computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are the more appropriate methods to diagnose pancreatic hyperechogenicity when compared with transcutaneous or endoscopic ultrasound examination. More importantly, pancreatic hyperechogenicity may not be a certain indicator of pancreatic fat infiltration. Even if it is true, we do not know the clinical significances of pancreatic fat accumulation. Some suggested that excess fat in the pancreas is associated with chronic pancreatitis. However, several histological studies on human alcoholic chronic pancreatitis did not prove the presence of fatty pancreas in such cases. Thus, except for aging, it is very rare to have truly steatotic pancreas in the absence of certain human diseases.展开更多

Through limited vibration measurements in the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering in Taiwan conducting model-based experiments, the 3-D Bouc-Wen model has been statistically and repetitively refined using the 95% confidence interval of the estimated structural parameters to determine their statistical significance in a multiple regression setting. When the parameters' confidence interval covers the "null" value, it is statistically sustainable to truncate such parameters. The remaining parameters will repetitively undergo such parameter sifting process for model refinement until all the parameters' statistical significance cannot be further improved. The effectiveness of the refined model has been shown considering the effects of sampling errors, of coupled restoring forces in tri-directions, and of the under-over-parameterization of structural systems. Sifted and estimated parameters such as the stiffness, and its corresponding natural frequency, resulting from the identification methodology developed in this study are carefully observed for system vibration control.展开更多

The oscillations contain a perturbation with the same frequency of EP violation signal, which is mitigated by two different methods as in Galileo Galilei (GG) mission and μSCOPE. In GG the sensor for readout is sensitive to differential forces in the orbital plane perpendicular to spin axis of test cylinders. In order to mitigate the nutational oscillatory effect, test mass should be rapidly rotated with the spin axis. However, in μSCOPE, the readout sensitive axis is the symmetry axis in the orbital plane. This nutational oscillation will produce a second order effect in the rotation amplitude at twice the signal frequency, and could be subtracted easily, too.展开更多

This purpose is achieved by considering a spring whose constant (and so its frequency) depends on the quantum states ofanother system. Recently, it is realized that by the assumption of frequency modulation of ω to ω √1+ μα+α the mentioned idea can be established. In the present paper, we generalize the approach of quantum optical spring with particular attention to the dependence or trequency to the intensity of radiation field that naturally observes in the nonlinear coherent states, from which we arrive at a physical system has been called by us as nonlinear quantum optical spring. Then, after the introduction of the generalized tlamiltonian of nonlinear quantum optical spring and it's solution, we will investigate the nonclassical properties of the obtained states. Specially, typical collapse and revival in the distribution functions and squeezing parameters, as particular quantum features, will be revealed.展开更多
