Configuration knowledge modeling of customizable products based on semantic web technologies

In order to solve the problem of modeling product configuration knowledge at the semantic level to successfully implement the mass customization strategy, an approach of ontology-based configuration knowledge modeling, combining semantic web technologies, was proposed. A general configuration ontology was developed to provide a common concept structure for modeling configuration knowledge and rules of specific product domains. The OWL web ontology language and semantic web rule language （SWRL） were used to formally represent the configuration ontology, domain configuration knowledge and rules to enhance the consistency, maintainability and reusability of all the configuration knowledge. The configuration knowledge modeling of a customizable personal computer family shows that the approach can provide explicit, computerunderstandable knowledge semantics for specific product configuration domains and can efficiently support automatic configuration tasks of complex products.

Application of SAGE algorithm in PET image reconstruction using modified ordered subsets

A new method that uses a modified ordered subsets （MOS） algorithm to improve the convergence rate of space-alternating generalized expectation-maximization （SAGE） algorithm for positron emission tomography （PET） image reconstruction is proposed.In the MOS-SAGE algorithm,the number of projections and the access order of the subsets are modified in order to improve the quality of the reconstructed images and accelerate the convergence speed.The number of projections in a subset increases as follows：2,4,8,16,32 and 64.This sequence means that the high frequency component is recovered first and the low frequency component is recovered in the succeeding iteration steps.In addition,the neighboring subsets are separated as much as possible so that the correlation of projections can be decreased and the convergences can be speeded up.The application of the proposed method to simulated and real images shows that the MOS-SAGE algorithm has better performance than the SAGE algorithm and the OSEM algorithm in convergence and image quality.

Apoptosis Induced by Bcl-2 Antisense Peptide Acid in HL60 Cells

Objective To study the differences and similarities of the antisense drugs with different structures on the biological functions of HL60 cells. Methods Cytotoxic effects were measured by cell viability assay. The expression levels of protein were assayed by immunofluorescence using fluoresce isothiocyanate label. The morphological changes in apoptotic cells were observed. Flow cytometric analysis of DNA fragmentation was also performed. Results Antisense peptide nucleic acid (PNA) targeting the coding region of the Bcl-2 mRNA could effectively inhibit the growth of HL60 cells, down-regulate the synthesis of Bcl-2 protein and induce apoptosis. After HL60 cells were treated with 10 μmol/L Bcl-2 antisense PNA or antisense oligonucleotide for 72 h respectively, apoptotic rates of HL60 cells were 17.80±1.53 and 13.17±1.12, respectively( P <0.05). Conclusion Antisense PNA targeting the coding region of Bcl-2 mRNA may have stronger antisense effects than the antisense oligonucleotides and could induce apoptosis of HL60 cells.

Portal ductopathy:Clinical importance and nomenclature

Non-cirrhotic portal hypertension(PHT)accounts for about 20%of all PHT cases,portal vein thrombosis(PVT) resulting in cavernous transformation being the most common cause.All known complications of PHT may be encountered in patients with chronic PVT.However,the effect of this entity on the biliary tree and pancreatic duct has not yet been fully established.Additionally,a dispute remains regarding the nomenclature of common bile duct abnormalities which occur as a result of chronic PVT.Although many clinical reports have focused on biliary abnormalities,only a few have evaluated both the biliary and pancreatic ductal systems.In this review the relevant literature evaluating the effect of PVT on both ductal systems is discussed,and findings are considered with reference to results of a prominent center in Turkey,from which the term"portal ductopathy"has been put forth to replace"portal biliopathy".

Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy Between Tradition and Innovation

Since the mid-1980s Chinese calligraphy art has undergone a radical change and has opened itself to experimentation. A vivid debate on CCC （Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy） （Zhongguo xiandai shufa） is involving art critics in China nowadays. WANG Dongling and the modernists think that, despite many changes and influences, we can still refer to the traditional calligraphic lexicon to describe the calligraphic production of contemporary Chinese art. They still remain deeply rooted in the signified system of Chinese writing, even if they break with the strict rules of Chinese classical aesthetic （contamination of Western elements and focus on the stylistic exploration）. WANG Nanming and the Avant-garde think that ＂contemporary calligraphy is not calligraphy yet＂： It is ＂anti-calligraphy＂, annihilates Chinese tradition, rejects the use of legible characters, experiments with new languages and new media within the idiom of international contemporary art. The result is the creation of works of art that could be assimilated to Abstract art, Abstract expressionism, Conceptual art, Performance art, Contemporary dance, Multimedia art, and even Street art. This paper aims at showing how still valid and extremely productive are both these two theoretical and creative/practical approaches to Chinese calligraphy in China nowadays. They turned the art of calligraphy into a medium for global comprehension and communication.

Gardening Art of Genyue Imperial Garden and Its Significance to Modern Landscape

Genyue Imperial Garden represents the Royal Garden in Northem Song Dynasty, and it has an important position in the Chinese classical garden history, as well as high values in history, culture, art. In this paper, the significance of the gar- dening art of Gsnyue Imperial Garden to modem landscape design was explored through the analysis on the macroscopic layout and microscopic gardening art of Genyue Imperial Garden.

A Definition Formalism of Machining Features for DFM

Benefiting from advances in feature technology for design and manufacture can not be expected before a formal methodology is established. This paper makes attempt to establish a definition formalism of machining features in design for manufacturability from two aspects: formal definition and manufacturability analysis. Some definitions for machining feature based upon the selection and sequencing of material removal operations for component in accordance with the design geometry are presented and a framework of feature based design for manufacturability is outlined correspondingly. The proposed scheme contributes to several aspects of feature based CAD/CAM integration, especially to encourage potentially a more generic approach to the automation of design.

Linking a Game Engine Environment to Architectural Information on the Semantic Web

Because of the importance of graphics and information within the domain of architecture, engineering and construction （AEC）, an appropriate combination of visualization technology and information management technology is of utter importance in the development of appropriately supporting design and construction applications. Virtual environments, however, tend not to make this information available. The sparse number of applications that present additional information furthermore tend to limit their scope to pure construction information and do not incorporate information from loosely related knowledge domains, such as cultural heritage or architectural history information. We therefore started an investigation of two of the newest developments in these domains, namely game engine technology and semantic web technology. This paper documents part of this research, containing a review and comparison of the most prominent game engines and documenting our architectural semantic web. A short test-case illustrates how both can be combined to enhance information visualization for architectural design and construction.

A PERSONALIZED IMAGE RETRIEVAL BASED ON VISUAL PERCEPTION

A new scheme named personalized image retrieval technique based on visual perception is proposed in this letter, whose motive is to narrow the semantic gap by directly perceiving user's visual information. It uses visual attention model to segment image regions and eye-tracking technique to record fixations. Visual perception is obtained by analyzing the fixations in regions to measure gaze interests. Integrating visual perception into attention model is to detect the Regions Of Interest (ROIs), whose features are extracted and analyzed, then feedback interests to optimize the results and construct user profiles.

Mechanism and Geo-mechanics Models of Landslides Triggered by 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake

Due to the extremely high magnitude, long duration, and the complicated geo-environment in the disaster area, the great 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake not only produced a huge number of landslides and rockfalls, but also involved complicated dynamic processes. These processes are quite different from the characteristics of landslides and rockfalls under general gravitational force, and presently human knowledge is very poor in this field. In order to describe the special dynamic processes, some terms such as shattering-cracking, shattering-sliding, shattering-falls and ejection are defined in this paper. Combined with slope structures, a mechanism classification system of strong earthquake-triggered landslide and rockfall is suggested, which is divided into 5 categories and 14 types. This paper also analyzes the basic characteristics, dynamic processes and geo-mechanics conceptual models of some typologies, especial the type of shattering-sliding for most large-scales landsides. This paper initially reveals the formation mechanism, geo-mechanics models and dynamic features of landslides and rockfalls triggered by the great Wenchuan Earthquake.

Trial by Fire： The Eastern Ordination of Stephen Dedalus

Section five of James Joyce＇s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is designed, among other things, to dramatize a young poet＇s ascension to the rank of ＂priest of art,＂ Where Stephen had previously contemplated being a Catholic priest, he now decides to embrace the world girdling Catholicity of global culture and its full range of spiritual traditions. To show how Stephen becomes a priest of art, Joyce has Stephen face three challengers in the form of MacCann, Davin, and Cranly, who all upbraid Dedalus to abandon his apostasy and conform. These three all try to tempt Dedalus away from his devotion to his individuality and personal integrity, and are analogues to the temptations faced by the Buddha on the eve of his enlightenment under the Bo tree. The Buddha faced Kama, the God of Desire; Mara, the Lord of death; and Dharma, who represents Duty. Stephen faces the temptations of social activism （and its attendant ego inflation） in the form of MacCann, a self-destructive Irish Nationalism in the figure of Davin and finally his obligation to his parochial and demanding family as represented by Cranly＇s arguments. Cranly （Dharma） even enjoins Stephen explicitly to make his Easter duty. These are dangerous distractions which can all keep Stephen from his goal, which is the Nibbana of artistic achievement. When Stephen triumphs over these three tempters he has come through the fire of self-doubt and is ready for his larger fate as an artist.

Soul, Spirit, Breath, and Life in the Book of Job

The terms ＂soul,＂ ＂spirit,＂ ＂breath,＂ and ＂life＂ occur several times each in the Book of Job. A proper understanding of these terms in Scripture, especially ＂soul＂ and ＂spirit＂ is integral to understanding the state of the dead, among others. These terms are used in diverse contexts with interchangeable nuances in the Book of Job. A living （＂life＂） person （＂soul＂） consists of the body/flesh plus the life principle （＂spirit＂） of which ＂breath＂ is a concrete expression. In poetic contexts, the terminologies denote the physical （＂soul＂/＂life＂）, appetitive （＂soul＂/＂life＂）, psychical （＂spirit＂/＂breath＂）, and emotional （＂soul＂/＂spirit＂） characteristics of the human being. While ＂soul＂ and ＂life＂ tend towards physieality and therefore can be used synonymously for the whole person, ＂spirit＂ and ＂breath＂ tend towards non-physicality and express such phenomena as intellection and wind. A study of these terminologies in other poetic texts in the Hebrew Bible may evince similar semantic configurations as found in the Book of Job.

Writing as Painting： Creative Scholarly Writing From H616ne Cixous＇ Post-structuralism and Maurice Merleau-Ponty＇s Body Phenomenology

This paper deals with scholarly writing and a testing and experimental review of its related conventions. The author applies to her review of the subject a theoretical stimulus that returns to the starting point of H616ne Cixous＇ （2008） post-structuralism and Maurice Merleau-Ponty＇s （2012） phenomenology of the body. The author becomes open to meditation on the topic as a bodily soothsayer redeeming permission for creative scholarly writing using the intuitively associative method and style of writing which she has developed. The author suggests that a theoretical starting point located in post-structuralism and the phenomenology of the body offers the possibility to equate creative scholarly writing with painting. The aim of this paper is to start from post-structuralism and the phenomenology of the body and to conceive a new method of understanding and adapting creative scholarly writing, while the author allows herself to perceive and write in her intuitively associative style.

Theory Viewing Yeats＇s Poetic Modernization From Mask

As ＂the greatest poet in the 20th century＂, Yeats is always a hot topic among academic community. The question whether Yeats is the ＂last romantic＂ or the first Modernist remains controversial for a long time in academic field. Whether critics term Yeats a modernist or not, they generally agree that the poems produced in his late creative period are definitively modernist works. This paper targets Yeats＇s realization of poetic modernization through his mask theory applied in ＂Crazy Jane＂ poems. It discusses the poetic movement in the beginning of the 20th century, the poetic theory Yeats proposed and instances Yeats＇s mask theory as the manifestation of his poetic modernization. The author argues that with his innovation in verse writing particularly demonstrated by application of mask theory in ＂Crazy Jane＂ poems, Yeats unquestionably played a very important role in Anglo-American modernist poetry.

To the Problem of the Deconstruction of Images of Socialist Ideals in Russian Sots Art： Psychoanalytic Aspect

The article is devoted to the psychoanalytic issues of the deconstruction of images of socialist ideals in Russian Sots Art--an ironic title of the artistic trend in which used a mixture signs of visual semiotics of ＂social realism＂ and ＂pop art＂ of the 1990-2000s. By comparing the idealization of the image of Lenin in Soviet art of the 1930-1950s with its grotesque interpretation in Sots Art works of the 1990s, it appears to be interesting to trace the functions of grotesque and caricature in the deconstruction of the canons of socialist realism. Thereupon, special interest is the role of the regression mechanism in the transformation of the ideals of socialist realism into laughable images.

The Attics of My Life： Joy Within the Melancholic Lyrics of John Keats and The Grateful Dead

This essay is a culmination of intensive research exploring the commonality between Dr. John Keats＇ poetry and the lyrics of The Grateful Dead. As this is the 50th anniversary of The Grateful Dead, it is appropriate to celebrate that with a scholarly paper. In teaching my course The GrateJid Dead as Poets I discovered compelling intersections between English Romantic poetry and the lyrics of The Grateful Dead. These findings are useful and important because the work of the Dead spans five decades and endures in ways that assure their place in literary history as well as the music world. The importance of The Grateful Dead cannot be overstated. They bring hope, love, joy and philanthropy to the world, as did the English Romantic poets. There is much yet to explore; this essay is about only a few of the many Grateful Dead lyrics.

Expression of ABCG2 in human gastric carcinoma

Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of ABCG2 in human gastric carcinoma and its clinical significance.Methods:Expression of ABCG2 was examined with immunohistochemical technique in the specimens from 45 gastric carcinoma tissues and 30 surrounding normal tissues.The mRNA expression of ABCG2 was measured by RT-PCR and real-time quantitative PCR in 30 cases of gastric carcinoma and normal gastric mucosa, respectively.Results:ABCG2 expression was observed in 28 of 45(62.2%) cases by immunohistochemical analysis.In ABCG2-positive tumors, adjacent non-neoplastic tissue was similarly analyzed, revealed that ABCG2 was up-regulated in gastric carcinoma.ABCG2 expression in poorly differentiated/undifferentiated carcinoma was significantly higher than that in well/moderately-differentiated carcinoma(P < 0.05).The mRNA expression of ABCG2 was significantly higher than that in normal gastric mucosa(P < 0.05).Conclusion:ABCG2 plays an important role in the multi-drug resistance of gastric carcinoma.ABCG2 might be an important factor in the research of gastric cancer stem cell.

A Brief View of Practice Ontology Aesthetics in the Context of Contemporary China

In recent years, Practice Ontology Aesthetics takes shape in academic discussion and argument. The introduction of Practice Ontology Aesthetics occurred in the course of introspection of Practice Aesthetics in modem China, in which the existence dimension in Marxist concept of practice was of great significance to breaking the theoretical limitation of present Practice Aesthetics. Therefore, in terms of the distinctive context of Chinese contemporary aesthetics, the introduction of Practice Ontology Aesthetics from the theoretical perspective of Marxist existentialism offers a possible way to break the current aesthetics and represents a multiple academic pursuit of Marxist, Chinese and modem aesthetics.

Building Extraction from LIDAR Based Semantic Analysis

Extraction of buildings from LIDAR data has been an active research field in recent years. A scheme for building detection and reconstruction from LIDAR data is presented with an object-oriented method which is based on the buildings’ semantic rules. Two key steps are discussed: how to group the discrete LIDAR points into single objects and how to establish the buildings’ semantic rules. In the end, the buildings are reconstructed in 3D form and three common parametric building models (flat, gabled, hipped) are implemented.

Arachnoiditis Ossificans of Lumbosacral Spine: a Case Report and Literature Review

ARACHNOIDITIS ossificans （AO） is a rare type of chronic arachnoiditis presence of calcification spinal arachnoid. Small characterized by the in, or ossification of the plaques of calcificationof the dura mater are frequently observed in radiography or during surgery, which are often asymptomatic and have no apparent clinical significance. AO and dura calcification should not be confused.
