The RBD (Recreation Busi...The growing attention on urban tourism was very widespread. There are two angles to study urban tourism: supply-side and demand-side. And the supply-side of the tourism remains very important. The RBD (Recreation Business District) is a useful framework to understand the components of urban tourism and how they fit together. The paper begins with a review on the RBD and the spatial structure of tourism in urban areas and then attempts to develop a more general understanding of the spatial structure evolution of RBDs in a tourist-historic city-Suzhou. The spatial structures and functions of the RBDs in Suzhou are examined, based on field observations, interviews with city officials and industry leaders, and a review of available documents. The urban tourism of Suzhou has developed in a range of contexts, that various types of RBDs have emerged as a result of different urban development strategies. The spatial structure has evolved from the past "Single-cored Structure" to "Double-cored Structure" at present, and then to "Chain Structure" in the future. The spatial form and evolution of RBD in Suzhou are closely relative with its urban spatial expansion. Urban area dispersal is the prerequisite of the emergence of the RBD. Planning and constructing the RBD becomes a new impetus to urban growth or renewal. Finally, a number of strategies for planning and developing the RBD in Suzhou are suggested. The different RBDs should adopt different strategies. Intensification can be the possible strategy for the RBDs in the ancient city. Accreting with the urban theme park or engrafting on the Jinji Lake is suggested respectively for the RBD in the Suzhou New District and the Suzhou Industrial Park.展开更多

However, if we go deep into the field investigation, after comparison and analysis, we can see that some of the singles music is the art of Sanqu singing that did not disappear from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Siukonen＇s （1929） methods of music education （teaching and singing） in Finland from 1863 to the late 1...The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of educational trends on A. T6rnudd＇s （1913） and V. Siukonen＇s （1929） methods of music education （teaching and singing） in Finland from 1863 to the late 1930s. In the examination of methods the analysis focuses on the time when T6rnudd and Siukonen were influential. A model of analysis was created in the study, with the help of which common and divergent elements in the educational trends and methods of music education were sought. According to the study, TOmudd＇s pattern singing method represented the Old School starting points, but he was a supporter of the work school, for instance. Siukonen＇s method was based on the New School principle in which the child-centered education philosophy and the developmental-psychological growth and development were taken into account in developing the method. Siukonen raised singing by ear as a central feature, from which children made observations. Methodical transition period took place at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s. In this paper we introduce a video post-processing method that enhances the rhythm of a dancing performance,in the sense that the dancing movements are more in time to the beat of the music.The dancing performance as ...In this paper we introduce a video post-processing method that enhances the rhythm of a dancing performance,in the sense that the dancing movements are more in time to the beat of the music.The dancing performance as observed in a video is analyzed and segmented into motion intervals delimited by motion beats.We present an image-space method to extract the motion beats of a video by detecting frames at which there is a significant change in direction or motion stops.The motion beats are then synchronized with the music beats such that as many beats as possible are matched with as little as possible time-warping distortion to the video.We show two applications for this cross-media synchronization:one where a given dance performance is enhanced to be better synchronized with its original music,and one where a given dance video is automatically adapted to be synchronized with different music.展开更多
