In this regard by preparing the reasons, we pay attention to the function of education in codification of Radif. Although Iranian traditional music has long history but its codification to seven Dastgah-s and five Avaz-es in the format of Radif is attributed to Qajar Dynasty in the 19th century. In this transformation, Mirza Abdollah, Tar-Player of the Nasser al-Din Shah Period, has played an important role in final codification of Radif. Due to the truth that the past masters scrimped in music education, and Mirza Abdollah had encountered with problems to learn music, hence he has mostly cared about music education in adulthood, and it is probable that one of the reasons in collecting Gusheh-s (approximately a small piece of the Iranian Dastgahi music) and organizing them into coherent sets was making simplicity for the students to learn. Furthermore, masters who seriously and continuously have taught after Mirza Abdollah, left a narration (version) of Radif. On the other hand, definite patterns in placement of Gusheh-s and phrases of the Radif have been organized in a manner that makes educational function for it.展开更多

Two people who shared this view were Zolt^n Kod^ly and Shinichi Suzuki. Suzuki positively affected the educational systems worldwide with his approach to violin teaching and his ideas on early childhood pedagogy. Choosing between the Suzuki violin teaching methodology and the traditional violin teaching methodology is a personal decision. This article tries to objectively elaborate on different aspects of Suzuki and traditional violin teaching methodologies. Siukonen's (1929) methods of music education (teaching and singing) in Finland from 1863 to the late 1...The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of educational trends on A. T6rnudd's (1913) and V. Siukonen's (1929) methods of music education (teaching and singing) in Finland from 1863 to the late 1930s. In the examination of methods the analysis focuses on the time when T6rnudd and Siukonen were influential. A model of analysis was created in the study, with the help of which common and divergent elements in the educational trends and methods of music education were sought. According to the study, TOmudd's pattern singing method represented the Old School starting points, but he was a supporter of the work school, for instance. Siukonen's method was based on the New School principle in which the child-centered education philosophy and the developmental-psychological growth and development were taken into account in developing the method. Siukonen raised singing by ear as a central feature, from which children made observations. Methodical transition period took place at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s. However, in teaching singing, the effects of the new trends were seen as early as from the late 1910s onwards.展开更多

The analysis is based on an on-line survey of 448 farm tourist businesses...This article focuses on farm-tourist hosts and who they are in terms of education and competence. Gender is a central variable in the analysis. The analysis is based on an on-line survey of 448 farm tourist businesses conducted in spring 2009. In addition, a sample of women and men hosts on 19 farm tourism enterprises is interviewed. Women are more likely to be managers of farm tourism businesses, and have higher levels of formal education than men. Men are more likely to have vocational education, local attachment and competence obtained by growing up on a farm. Level of education does not have any significant impact on turnover, profitability and expected profit. As the businesses are small-scale and developed from the farms' material resources, the competence required is the ability to transform the farm resources into a tourist product. This competence might be achieved not only through formal educational, but also through previous work experiences, courses, networks, advisory services and daily experience. Interviews show that the hosts refer to their vocational backgrounds as important and relevant, and they refer to their practically obtained competence rather than to their educational backgrounds.展开更多

Edwin Gordon (1989, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2007) and promoted internationally by various institutions and organizations specifically accredited. It describes the influence of the videotaped supervision on the process, functions of monitoring, and evaluation of educational practices, starting with an empirical model that has guided the interventions in a study of supervision on training aimed at consolidating and developing professional skills in music education in early childhood. This paper sought to understand: the kind of practices, interactions, communications developing during an educational actions, the existence of a consistent relationship between the principles expressed in the MLT and their application, the type and benefits of supervision performed by of video recording on stakeholders in terms of change in professional behavior, and finally whether the active supervision could be comparable with other kinds of approaches.展开更多
