We also discuss the dynamical behaviors of the four fiber coupled cavity array with unequal couplings.展开更多

However, the highest occupied molecular orbital of adsorbed methanol lies below the valence band maximum of TiO2, preventing the hole transfer. To study the level alignment of this system, electronic structure of methanol covered TiO2(110) surface has been measured by ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy and the molecular orbitals of adsorbed methanol have been clearly identified. The results indicate the weak interaction between methanol and TiO2 substrate. The static electronic structure also suggests the mismatch of the energy levels. These static experiments have been performed without band gap excitation which is the prerequisite of a photocatalytie process. Future study of the transient electronic structure using time-resolved UPS has also been discussed.展开更多

The cavity frequency is large-detuned from the atomic transition frequency, so the Hamiltonian can be expressed as an effective form. The photon-number-dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are cancelled with the assistance of a strong classical field, thus the scheme is insensitive to both the cavity decay and the thermal field. The scheme can be used to generate multi-atom Bell-state and Greenberger-Horne-Zeiliner (GHZ) state.展开更多

In the scheme n two-level atoms, initially in ground states, are sent through a resonant cavity filled with a strong coherent field sequentially. Then state-selective measurements are performed on the atoms. The detections of the atoms in ground states collapse the cavity field onto a superposition of 2(n) coherent states. This is the first way for producing superpositions of many coherent states through resonant atom-field interaction.展开更多

A 40 (2007) 13407] on six two-level atoms is proposed. In the scheme, the atom-cavity detuning is much bigger than the atom-cavity coupling strength and the necessary preparation time is much shorter than the Rydberg-atom lifespan. In second quantization this quasi-excitation is associated with the boson realization of SO(3) Lie algebra. Physically, the phenomena of q-deformed excitation can happen in many models of quantum dynamics, such as super emission from a system of many identical two-level atoms, the spin wave in Heisenberg chain, the high spin precession and the coherent output of Bose-Einstein atoms in a trap. Especially, in these models, the deformation parameter q is well defined intrinsically by a conservative quantity, such as the total atomic number and the angular momentum.展开更多

To perform the experiments, deionized water and municipal secondary effluents (SE) were artificially contaminated with atrazine (ATZ) and treated by the two proposed methods. ATZ concentration, COD and TOC were recorded along the reaction time and used to evaluate EfOM effect on the system efficiency. Results demonstrate that the presence of EfOM can significantly reduce the micropollutant removal rate due to competition of EfOM components to react with radicals and/or molecular ozone. The hydroxyl radical scavenging caused by EfOM was quantified as well as the contribution of molecular ozone and .OH radicals during the ozonation of SE. EfOM components promoted higher inhibition of ATZ oxidation by hydroxyl radicals than by molecular ozone.展开更多

To investigate the relationship between atomization energy and energy transfer rate, the number of doorway modes of explosives is estimated by the theory of Dlott and Fayer in which the rate is proportional to the number of normal mode vibrations. It was evaluated frequencies of normal mode vibrations of eight molecules by means of density functional theory (DFT) at the b3p86/6-31G(d,p) level. It is found that the number of doorway modes shows a linear correlation to the atomization energies of the molecules, which were also calculated by means of the same method. A mechanism of this correlation is discussed. It is also noted that in those explosives with similar molecular structure and molecular weight, the correlation between the atomization energy and the number of doorway modes is higher.展开更多

The two cavity fields are both initially prepared in the coherent states, and the two two-level atoms are initially prepared in the singlet state |ψ^-〉 =(|eg〉 - |ge〉 ) / √2. We investigate the influence of the damping constant n, the intensity of the external sources F, and the relative difference of the atomic couplings r on the entanglement between the two atoms. In the dispersive approximation, we find that the entanglement between the two atoms decreases with the time evolution, and the decreasing rate of entanglement depends on the values of F/k, k/ω, and r. For the given small values of F/k and k/ω, on the one hand, the increasing of r favors entanglement decreasing of the atomic system, on the other hand, when r → 1 the entanglement decreasing becomes slower. With the increasing of the value of k/ω, the influence of r on the decreasing rate of entanglement becomes smaller, and gradually disappears for the big value of k/ω.展开更多

In this work, a combined dry-gel-conversion and steam-assisted- crystallization method is used to synthesize hierarchically porous zeolite ZSM-5 with varied Si/AI malar ratios. X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 physisorption, NH3-temperature programmed desorption (TPD), scanning electronic microscopic (SEM) measurement and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) are employed to characterize the struc- ture and acidity of both hierarchically porous zeolites and their conventional counterparts. The method is found to be applicable to ZSM-5 with molar ratios of Si/A1 from 20 to 180. The ZSM-5 zeolites are used as catalysts for benzene methylation at 460 ℃ to investigate the effect of additional porosity and Si/A1 ratios. At low Si/AI ratios, the benzene conversions over conventional and hierarchical ZSM-5 are close, and selectivity to toluene is high over hierarchical ZSM-5. It is found that hierarchical porosity markedly enhances the utility of zeolite and the se- lectivity towards xylenes via improved mass transport at higher Si/Al ratios. Under an optimized hierarchical ZSM-5 catalvst, xvlene selectivity reaches 34.9% at a Si/AI ratio of 180.展开更多
