METHODS:The expression of genes significantly changed on microarray during H pylori infection was scanned from the web literary database and translated into proteins.A network of protein interactions was constructed by searching the primary interactions of selected proteins. The constructed network was mathematically analyzed and its biological function was examined. In addition, the nodes on the network were checked to determine if they had any further functional importance or relation to other proteins by extending them. RESULTS:The scale-free network showing the relationship between inflammation and carcinogenesis was constructed.Mathematical analysis showed hub and bottleneck proteins, and these proteins were mostly related to immune response. The network contained pathways and proteins related to H pylori infection, such as the JAK-STAT pathway triggered by interleukins.Activation of nuclear factor (NF)-κB,TLR4,and other proteins known to function as core proteins of immune response were also found. These immune-related proteins interacted on the network with pathways and proteins related to the cell cycle, cell maintenance and proliferation, andtranscription regulators such as BRCA1,FOS,REL,and zinc finger proteins. The extension of nodes showed interactions of the immune proteins with cancer- related proteins. One extended network, the core network,a summarized form of the extended network, and cell pathway model were constructed. CONCLUSION:Immune-related proteins activated by H pylori infection interact with proto-oncogene proteins. The hub and bottleneck proteins are potential drug targets for gastric inflammation and cancer.展开更多

We investigated the allelopathic interactions between Karenia mikimotoi and Dunaliella salina in laboratory cultures based on different temperature (15℃, 20℃, and 25℃) and lighting (40,80, and 160 umol/(m2·s)) conditions. The growth of D. salina in bi-algae culture (1:1 size/density) was significantly restrained. The results of cell-free filtrate culture indicate that direct cell-to- cell contact was not necessary in interspecific competition. Further experimental results demonstrated that allelochemicals released from K. miMmotoi were markedly influenced by both temperature (P=0.013) and irradiance (P=0.003), resulting in different growth characteristics olD. salina in filtrate mediums. Compared with the plateau period, K. mikimotoi exudates in the exponential phase had a stronger short-term inhibition effect on D. salina in normal conditions. A clear concentration-dependent relationship was observed in the effect of allelochemicals released from K. mikimotoi with low-promoting and high-repressing effects on D. Salina in a short time-scale. In addition, allelopathic substances remain stable and effective under high temperature and pressure stress. Many flocculent sediments adhering with D. salina cells were observed in all filtrate mediums, while the quantity and color depended on the original culture conditions.展开更多

It is considered to be the second most productive calcifying organism on earth and becoming an important factor in the global carbonate cycle. Emiliania huxleyi is one of the only two bloom-forming coccolithophores and becomes a species crucial to the study of global biogeochemical cycles and climate modeling. Coccolithoviruse is a recently discovered group of viruses infecting the marine coceolithophorid E. huxleyi. They are a major cause of coceolithophore bloom termination, and DMSP concentration is increasing in the process of viral lysis. Phylogenetic evidences support that some genes are functional both in E. huxleyi and its virus (EhV). Horizontal gene transfer (HGT) of multiple functionally coupled enzymes occurs in E. huxleyi and its DNA virus EhV has been confirmed, which contributes to the diversification and adaptation of plankton in the oceans and also critically regulates virus-host infection by allowing viruses to control host metabolic pathways for their repli- cation. Therefore, it is of particular interest to understand this host-virus interaction. On this issue, we have made a minireview of coeeolithoviruses focusing on the basic characteristics, phylogenesis, horizontal gene transfer and the interaction between the host and its viruses, as well as its important role in global biogeochemical cycling.展开更多

For each track, the acceleration response in the free field was obtained. The numerical results show that the influence of vibrations from underground trains on sensitive equipment depends on the track types. At frequencies above 10 Hz,the floating slab track with a natural frequency of 7 Hz can be effective to attenuate the vibrations.展开更多

Nevertheless, the playing role of each of them remains controversial. The NiemannPick type C1 like 1 gene (NPC1L1) receptor has been recently implicated on hepatitis C virus (HCV) entry into the cell and ezetimibe, an anti-cholesterol drug seems to block that, emerging the idea to control hepatitis C outbreak modulating lipid-related receptors. Hepatitis C infection seems to modulate lipid metabolism according to host genetic background. Indeed, it circulates like a lipoviroparticle. The main aim of this field of vision would be to discuss the role of hepatocyte receptors implicated on virus entry, especially NPC1L1 and the therapeutic options derived from the better knowledge about HCV-lipidsreceptors interaction.展开更多

A pattern of membrane surface which showed smaller and bigger peaks was obtained by scanning tunneling microscope(STM), looking like the domains of lipid groups and proteins in the model of fluid mosaic biomembrane. Some even more higher and wider peaks projected out from the membrane surface in STM image after the interacting of laminin with membrane receptor were, probably, the complexes of laminin and membrane receptor. Furthermore, the decreased lateral diffusion coefficient value (D) was obtained by fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) after the laminin was reacted with membrane receptor. This phenomenon provides an evidence that the complexes of laminin and its membrane receptor were located on the membrane of macrophages. So we could consider that the laminin is combined with membrane receptor leading to the variation in the properties of membrane surface.展开更多

Shungite is a natural mineral which has special structural composition, characterized by the existence of fullerenes and nanotubes. This paper explains the methods applied by the authors to prepare shungite for experimental research, to process apple juice by adsorbent, to determine the quantity of microorganisms in juice after it interacted with shungite, weight percentage of dissolvable dry solids, active acidity and quality parameters. In juice, processed by shungite, bacteria, fungi and yeast were detected. The authors made a comparison between microbial population in juice before and after its interaction with shungite. The paper refers to method under which shungite adsorbs bacteria, fungi and yeasts. The authors presented the results of studying dry solids content, active acidity of apple juice, processed by shungite at various temperatures and conducted assessment of apple juice quality after its interaction with sorbent. Through their research, the authors established rational parameters of apple juice processed by shungite under which the maximum reduction of microbial insemination is reached. The research proved that after apple juice interacts with shungite, its dry solids content and active acidity level remain unchanged. This paper confirmed high quality parameters of apple juice processed by shungite. Taking into account the obtained results, the authors concluded that use of shungite to process apple juice does not require expensive equipment, complex maintenance of the processing procedure, which reduce the cost value of a manufactured product.展开更多

Personality factors could predict relationship satisfaction through the influence of individuals' relationship schemas (Fiske and Taylor 1991) and perceptions of their partners (Simpson and Rholes 1998). Given the potential importance of attachment styles to relationship mechanisms and the well-established relationship between attachment and interpersonal behavior (Bartholomew and Horowitz 1992; Hazan and Shaver 1987), interpersonal traits may influence relationship satisfaction directly. According to Leary's (1957) interpersonal reflex theory, any interpersonal act elicits responses from the other person that verify, validate, or otherwise reinforce the actor's own self-image and self-presentation, and thus increase the probability that the actor will emit similar interpersonal acts in future interactions. The Impact Message Inventory (IMI) attempts to measure individuals' perceptions of how others impact them by evoking interpersonal acts such as dominance and affiliation. This study examined the influence of perceived partner-evoked behavior and individuals' own interpersonal styles on relationship satisfaction. This study used IMI measures of evoked Dominance and Affiliation as well as revised Liking and Loving measures to predict relationship satisfaction using three different satisfaction outcome measures. The final analyses included 291 participants (134 men and 157 women) who completed a scantron survey. Partner impact, or the interpersonal behaviors, evoked from the individual during interaction, predicted relationship satisfaction well. Evoked affiliation was the most consistently strong predictor of satisfaction across all three outcome measures. Liking (distinct here from affiliation) is a stronger predictor of relationship satisfaction than is loving (distinct here from passion), and it is significant across all three outcome measures. The liking measure appears to reflect a relatively high level of reward in the relationship and intrinsic enjoyment of the partner's company without the comparative cost of loving. Future research should examine interactions between couples, moving beyond intrapsychic self-reports of perceived experiences and feelings, although these are important in their own right.展开更多

The objective of this investigation was to study the vibration of curved twin I-girder bridges due to moving vehicles and the effect of vibrations on bridge users. To this end, a comprehensive three-dimensional finite element models for bridge and vehicle are developed by using ANSYS code for studying bridge-vehicle interaction and the resultant sensitivity to vibration. Truck parameters include the body, the suspension and the tires. Gap and actuator elements are incorporated into the tire models to simulate the separation between the tires and road surface, and road surface roughness, respectively. Road roughness profiles are generated from power spectral density and cross spectral functions. To couple the motion of the bridge and vehicle, Lagrange multipliers and constraint equations are utilized through the augmented Lagrangian method. A parametric study is performed to identify the effect of various parameters on the vibration of the bridge. The results have been expressed in the form of human perceptibility curves. This study finds that the bridge response is significantly influenced by the road roughness, bump height at expansion joint and vehicle speeds. The results show that the inclusion of features such as increasing the torsional stiffness by providing additional stiffened bracing has major effects on the reduction of perceptible vibration.展开更多

The obtained supra-structure could act as a supra-crosslink (Fc-SCL) in its copolymerizing with N,N-dimethylacrylamide (DMA) leading to a hybrid supramolecular hydrogel (Fc-Gel). Fc-SCL inherited satisfactory electrochemical activity from Fc. When the weight percentage of Fc-SCL in Fc-Gel was increased, an apparent increase of elastic modulus (G ′) was observed. Furthermore, Fc-Gel also exhibited good fluorescent properties. It was also demonstrated that the inclusion complexation of CD and Fc played a crucial role in constructing the hydrogel; therefore, this Fc-Gel was an organic-inorganic hybrid hydrogel induced by supramolecular interaction.展开更多

The results show that the inclusion of features such as increasing the torsional stiffness by providing additional stiffened bracing has major effects on the reduction of perceptible vibration.

文摘In this work, through inclusion complexation between cyclodextrin (CD) host and ferrocene (Fc) guest, a monomer with double bond was incorporated to the surface of CdS quantum dot (QD). It was also demonstrated that the inclusion complexation of CD and Fc played a crucial role in constructing the hydrogel; therefore, this Fc-Gel was an organic-inorganic hybrid hydrogel induced by supramolecular interaction.

文摘Viruses replicate and proliferate in host cells while continuously adjusting to and modulating the host environment. They encode a wide spectrum of multifunctional proteins, which interplay with and modify proteins in host cells.Viral genomes were chronologically the first to be sequenced. However, the corresponding viral proteomes, the alterations of host proteomes upon viral infection, and the dynamic nature of proteins, such as post-translational modifications, enzymatic cleavage, and activation or destruction by proteolysis, remain largely unknown.Emerging high-throughput techniques,in particular quantitative or semi-quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics analysis of viral and cellular proteomes, have been applied to define viruses and their interactions with their hosts. Here,we review the major areas of viral proteomics, including virion proteomics, structural proteomics, viral protein interactomics, and changes to the host cell proteome upon viral infection.

文摘Dynamically crosslinked materials generally lose their self-healing ability and mechanical robustness in aqueous, acidic, and basic environments due to disruption of their dynamic interactions and bonds.Herein,a micelle-like structure with a hydrophobic outer layer is used to protect ionic interactions. This structure ensures the self-healing and long-term stability of the ionically crosslinked elastomers in aqueous, acidic, and basic environments. The elastomer possesses a tensile strength of 6.7 MPa and a strain at break of 1400%,which is superior to the existing waterproof selfhealing elastomers. The strain sensors and dielectric actuators based on the elastomer are highly stable and self-healable,even in extremely harsh environments. This design strategy of hydrophobic protection for dynamic interactions is quite general, allowing it to be extended to other self-healing materials.

文摘The Gram-positive bacterium Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)is a wide spread common opportunistic pathogen that causes a wide variety of infectious diseases, from benign skin infections to life-threatening diseases such as the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)infection.Although emerging evidence suggests that lysine acetylation may play critical roles in bacterial physiology, the atlas of acetylome in S.aureus has not been studied. To comprehensively profile protein lysine acetylation in S.aureus,we used an integrated approach that combined immune affinity peptide enrichment using anti-lysine acetylation antibody,high-pH HPLC fractionation, and HPLC/mass spectrometry analysis. This study led to the identification of 1361 non-redundant acetylation sites on 412 proteins found in a search of S.aureus protein database extracted from the Swiss-Prot database. We further performed bioinformatic analysis to characterize this modification, including gene ontology annotation,protein-protein interaction, and domain analysis of the acetylation sites. We found that the acetylated proteins were enriched in multiple biological pathways, such as ribosomal function and energy metabolism. Our data provides a rich source for functional studies of lysine acetylation in S.aureus.

文摘The shock wave boundary layer interaction on the suction side of transonic compressor blade is one of the main objectives of TFAST project (Transition Location Effect on Shock Wave Boundary Layer Interaction). The experimental and numerical results for the flow structure investigations are shown for the flow conditions as the existing ones on the suction side of the compressor profile. The two cases are investigated: without and with boundary layer tripping device. In the fwst case, boundary layer is laminar up to the shock wave, while in the second case the boundary layer is tripped by the step. Numerical results carried out by means of Fine/Turbo Numeca with Explicit Algebraic Reynolds Stress Model including transition modeling are compared with schlieren, Temperature Sensitive Paint and wake measurements. Boundary layer transition location is detected by Temperature Sensitive Paint.
