There have been several studies in the past to automatically extract the pockets from the structure information of known proteins. However, it is difficult to find a study comparing the precision of the extracted pockets from known pockets on the protein. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for extracting pockets from structure data of proteins and analyze the quality of the algorithm by comparing the extracted pockets with some known pockets. These results in this paper can be used to set the parameter values of the pocket extraction algorithm for getting better results.展开更多

In training stage, according to the manual labeled feature points, the relative AAM is constructed and the corresponding average feature is obtained. In recognition stage, the interesting hand gesture region is firstly segmented by skin and movement cues. Secondly, the models are fitted to the image that includes the hand gesture, and the relative features are extracted. Thirdly, the classification is done by comparing the extracted features and average features. 30 different gestures of Chinese sign language are applied for testing the effectiveness of the method. The Experimental results are given indicating good performance of the algorithm.展开更多

This paper makes a study of preferred and dispreferred second turns in naturally occurring interactions to show structurally expected or unexpected responses from the second parts of the adjacent pairs. The study is based on the analysis of examples of people's actual conversations. It is concluded that in actual conversations, the speaker may make a preferred or dispreferred answer in either marked or unmarked form according to the speaker's intention and conversation circumstances.展开更多

The relatively simple interactive operations such as rotation and transfer can be realized on the platform. Moreover, the normal vector and interior point are calculated to form the virtual clipping plane, which is then used to incise the 3-D object. Information of the virtual slice can be obtained, in the mean while the virtual slice images are displayed on the screen. The technique can realize the real time interaction extraction of virtual slice on 3-D CT image. The cuboids structured can be zoomed, moved and eircumrotated by operating mouse to incise the 3-D reconstruction object. Real time interaction can be realized by clipping the reconstruction object. The coordinates can be acquired by the mouse clicking in the 3D space, to realize the point mouse pick-up as well angle and distance interactive measurement. We can get quantitative information about 3-D images through measurement.展开更多

Therefore, the arteries and the heart cannot be easily visualized by current visualization methods. To solve the problems, we propose a new framework for arteries and cardiac visualization by combining a priori knowledge and the set operations.Firstly, a suitable region can be easily determined in the transfer function space with a priori knowledge and the visual feedback results. Secondly, the arteries and the heart can be directly extracted by the marked seed point. Finally, the arteries and the heart are separated for solving mutual occlusion through the set operations. This framework can easily solve the mutual occlusion problem in clinical visualization and greatly improve the region selection method in the transfer function space. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated on the basis of many experimental results.展开更多
