The modu...In the study and implementation of a programmable RS codec module in satellite communication modem, FPGA is used as the kernel in the implementation, while some ASICs are used as necessary assistant measures. The module includes the RS codec unit, the interleaver and deinterleaver unit, the scrambler and descrambler unit and the frame synchronization unit. The module is realized successfully and it can be programmed on-line to meet the requirements of IESS 308/309/310 including many specifications about different service types and data rates. With the implementation combining FPGA with ASICs, size of the circuit is much reduced, its flexibility dramatically increased, and its stability further strengthened. Furthermore, the module is based on the software radio concept and can be easily integrated into the whole satellite communication modem.展开更多

Whether aircrafts can fly safely and how to determine the requirements of safety flight are the problems needed to be confirmed. Under this circumstances, based on the international Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO) criteria and the standards made by CAAC, this paper adopts the "See and Avoid" principle. Under the binding conditions of flight rules, visibility requirements, responding time, the aircraft speed, circle banking angle or the climbing angle, based on its study on aircraft dynamics principles, this paper establishes a mathematical collision avoidance model for head-to-head traffic and crossing converging traffic at the same level. And the safety separation requirements of the aircrafts in low altitude flight are equantitatively analyzed. Finally, the Matlab software is used to analyze the above method. The result shows that the safe traffic avoidance of the converging traffic at the same level meets certain flight conditions, while intersecting the traffic at the same level can safely avoid the collision.展开更多

In...Machine Learning(ML) techniques have been widely applied in recent traffic classification.However, the problems of both discriminator bias and class imbalance decrease the accuracies of ML based traffic classifier. In this paper, we propose an accurate and extensible traffic classifier. Specifically, to address the discriminator bias issue, our classifier is built by making an optimal cascade of binary sub-classifiers, where each binary sub-classifier is trained independently with the discriminators used for identifying application specific traffic. Moreover, to balance a training dataset,we apply SMOTE algorithm in generating artificial training samples for minority classes.We evaluate our classifier on two datasets collected from different network border routers.Compared with the previous multi-class traffic classifiers built in one-time training process,our classifier achieves much higher F-Measure and AUC for each application.展开更多

Firstly, a calculation method for the occupancy per cycle under different...Quick and reliable identification of the traffic state is of critical importance to traffic control systems, especially when spillovers appear. Firstly, a calculation method for the occupancy per cycle under different traffic conditions were presented, based on the relationship between the three basic traffic flow parameters, speed, traffic flow and density. Secondly, the times at which the stopping and starting waves approach a loop detector were confirmed using the traffic wave models modified by a kinematic equation. Then, the threshold of occupancy, which characterizes the appearance of spillovers, was determined by the premise that the stopping and starting waves had the same speed. At last, the accuracy and usability of the new method were verified by VISSIM simulation, using the ratio of misjudgment as the evaluation index. The results show that the ratio of misjudgment of the new method is about 11.36% compared to 17.65% of the previous method.展开更多

Our work focuses on the network infrastructure and considers its energy awareness in traffic routing. We formulate the model by traffic engineering to achieve link rate a- daption, and also predict traffic matrices to pre- serve network stability. However, we realize that there is a tradeoff between network performance and energy efficiency, which is an obvious issue as Internet grows larger and larger. An essential cause is the huge traffic, and thus we try to fred its so- lution from a novel architecture called Named Data Networking (NDN) which tent in edge routers and can flexibly cache con- decrease the backbone traffic. We combine our methods with NDN, and finally improve both the network performance and the energy efficiency. Our work shows that it is effective, necessary and feasible to consider green- ing idea in the design of future Internet.展开更多

A high accuracy instrument ADV and high precision point-type pressure sensors were used to measure the parameters of the flow field, including the pressure distribution, velocities at seven cross sections near the submarine pipeline with five different clearance ratios, and twelve dynamic pressure values around the pipeline. The pressure distributions and velocity changes around the pipe under dif- ferent flow velocities and clearance ratios were analyzed. These results might be useful for further study of submarine pipeline ero- sion and protection.展开更多

The AFC is composed of the signal control system-oriented control level and the signal controller-oriented fuz...An adaptive fuzzy logic controller (AFC) is presented for the signal control of the urban traffic network. The AFC is composed of the signal control system-oriented control level and the signal controller-oriented fuzzy rules regulation level. The control level decides the signal timings in an intersection with a fuzzy logic controller. The regulation level optimizes the fuzzy rules by the Adaptive Rule Module in AFC according to both the system performance index in current control period and the traffic flows in the last one. Consequently the system performances are improved. A weight coefficient controller (WCC) is also developed to describe the interactions of traffic flow among the adjacent intersections. So the AFC combined with the WCC can be applied in a road network for signal timings. Simulations of the AFC on a real traffic scenario have been conducted. Simulation results indicate that the adaptive controller for traffic control shows better performance than the actuated one.展开更多

After describing the hybrid property of the AUV control system, we present the hierarchical AUV control architecture. The architecture is organized in three layers: mission layer, task layer and execution layer. State supervisor and task coordinator are two key modules handling discrete events, so we describe these two modules in detail. Finally, we carried out a series of tests to verify this architecture The test results show that the AUV can perform autonomous missions effectively and safely. We can conclude the control architecture is valid and practical.展开更多
