Each step plays a different role in performance evaluation indicator system and has its own impact on the realization of performance evaluation objectives respectively. The industrial organisations have a vested interest in quality and its practices in making a quantum leap, thereby requiring proper refocusing and rethinking. This is targeted seriously towards firms acquiring Knowledge Systems (KS) in order to nurture the employees' capabilities. Therefore, to enhance performances and their highly creative direction takes consideration of QE (quality engineering) and KS and disciplines complementary to each other. Additionally, the flow of operations and activities of the KS through the application of quality engineering (QE) principles is according to the view of Japanese engineer Taguchi. This aims to achieve good quality in the product design and processes, and also to anticipate problems that may occur before the shipping of the products. In this study, the use of quality control engineering and Taguchi's function methods in determining these properties and the loss caused by the company will be examined. However, the adopted approach of study scope to the society will aid KS. Also, efforts in this direction motivate the employment of a statistical method by Taguchi which relied on the principle of target-oriented quality, representing the value characterising the product quality. 展开更多

Minjingu Phosphate Rock (MPR) from Northern Tanzania and the Ikutha Phosphate Rock (IPR) found in Central-Southeast Kenya are well documented as potential sources of phosphorous (P) available in East Africa. On-farm trials in phosphate-deficient soils in Western Kenya demonstrated MPR to be as effective as triple superphosphate (TSP) - 20% P, at equal P rates. The aim of this work is to determine the distribution of phosphorus in these phosphate rocks (PRs). The different phosphorus fractions were extracted using the modified Williams extraction procedure and analysis carried on a UV/VIS spectrometer (SHIMADZU UV-220-02 and NOVASPEC II). The analysis showed that the most abundant form of phosphorus in the phosphate rocks was the Inorganic Phosphorus (IP) contributing 74.20% of total phosphorus (TP) for Minjingu, and 83,28% of total phosphorus for Ikutha phosphate rock. 展开更多

Functional knowledge integration is the initial and core phase of a design process. It is the key phase to ensure that the functional requirement of the design product can be appropriately complied with, and its result is also the rudiment of the subsequent detailed design work. If this important phase can be supported by an increasingly distributed resource environment, and be automated such that its completion requires less manual work, the efficiency of the design process would be largely improved and its ability to promote innovation would be enhanced. Therefore, this study involved a detailed analysis of the functional knowledge integration of the design process, as well as the proposal of a corresponding running model. Based on the model, a computational algorithm and an evaluating method were established to automate functional knowledge integration. A corresponding computer program was developed to prove the feasibility of this approach, and it was used to design a solarpowered wiper blade. 展开更多
