In order to effectively conduct emotion recognition from spontaneous, non-prototypical and unsegmented speech so as to create a more natural human-machine interaction; a novel speech emotion recognition algorithm base...In order to effectively conduct emotion recognition from spontaneous, non-prototypical and unsegmented speech so as to create a more natural human-machine interaction; a novel speech emotion recognition algorithm based on the combination of the emotional data field (EDF) and the ant colony search (ACS) strategy, called the EDF-ACS algorithm, is proposed. More specifically, the inter- relationship among the turn-based acoustic feature vectors of different labels are established by using the potential function in the EDF. To perform the spontaneous speech emotion recognition, the artificial colony is used to mimic the turn- based acoustic feature vectors. Then, the canonical ACS strategy is used to investigate the movement direction of each artificial ant in the EDF, which is regarded as the emotional label of the corresponding turn-based acoustic feature vector. The proposed EDF-ACS algorithm is evaluated on the continueous audio)'visual emotion challenge (AVEC) 2012 dataset, which contains the spontaneous, non-prototypical and unsegmented speech emotion data. The experimental results show that the proposed EDF-ACS algorithm outperforms the existing state-of-the-art algorithm in turn-based speech emotion recognition.展开更多

The method can extract optimized gridding parameters based...This paper presents a reasonable gridding-parameters extraction method for setting the optimal interpolation nodes in the gridding of scattered observed data. The method can extract optimized gridding parameters based on the distribution of features in raw data. Modeling analysis proves that distortion caused by gridding can be greatly reduced when using such parameters. We also present some improved technical measures that use human- machine interaction and multi-thread parallel technology to solve inadequacies in traditional gridding software. On the basis of these methods, we have developed software that can be used to grid scattered data using a graphic interface. Finally, a comparison of different gridding parameters on field magnetic data from Ji Lin Province, North China demonstrates the superiority of the proposed method in eliminating the distortions and enhancing gridding efficiency.展开更多

In training stage, according to the manual labeled feature points, the relative AAM is constructed and the corresponding average feature is obtained. In recognition stage, the interesting hand gesture region is firstly segmented by skin and movement cues. Secondly, the models are fitted to the image that includes the hand gesture, and the relative features are extracted. Thirdly, the classification is done by comparing the extracted features and average features. 30 different gestures of Chinese sign language are applied for testing the effectiveness of the method. The Experimental results are given indicating good performance of the algorithm.展开更多

The inhibition efficiencies were evaluated at different concentratio...Veratraldehyde was tested as a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in I M HCI and 0.5 M H2SO4 separately using mass loss and electrochemical studies. The inhibition efficiencies were evaluated at different concentrations of the inhibitor at different temperatures. The inhibition efficiency increased with increase in inhibitor concentration and decreased with increase in temperature in both the acid solutions. Electrochemical studies showed that the inhibitor is of mixed type with a slight predominance of anodic character. The inhibitor was more active in HCI than in H2SO4. The maximum inhibition efficiency approached at 1000 ppm in both the acid medium. The inhibitor was found to adsorb on the mild steel surface according to the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The surface morphology of mild steel in the presence and absence of inhibitor was studied by using scanning electron microscopic (SEM) images.展开更多

One machine a...In this study, we propose an incremental learning approach based on a machine-machine interaction via relative attribute feedbacks that exploit comparative relationships among top level image categories. One machine acts as 'Student (S)' with initially limited information and it endeavors to capture the task domain gradually by questioning its mentor on a pool of unlabeled data. The other machine is 'Teacher (T)' with the implicit knowledge for helping S on learning the class models. T initiates relative attributes as a communication channel by randomly sorting the classes on attribute space in an unsupervised manner. S starts modeling the categories in this intermediate level by using only a limited number of labeled data. Thereafter, it first selects an entropy-based sample from the pool of unlabeled data and triggers the conversation by propagating the selected image with its belief class in a query. Since T already knows the ground truth labels, it not only decides whether the belief is true or false, but it also provides an attribute-based feedback to S in each case without revealing the true label of the query sample if the belief is false. So the number of training data is increased virtually by dropping the falsely predicted sample back into the unlabeled pool. Next, S updates the attribute space which, in fact, has an impact on T's future responses, and then the category models are updated concurrently for the next run. We experience the weakly supervised algorithm on the real world datasets of faces and natural scenes in comparison with direct attribute prediction and semi-supervised learning approaches, and a noteworthy performance increase is achieved.展开更多

The system attempts to find front-face using Haar-like feature, and selects a detected front-face image from the vertex-chest region. This algorithm can solve valid range of parameters such as radius and coordinate of centre points of parametric models with only linear segments and circles. The result of the study shows that all values within the valid range provided by this algorithm can ensure that the topological shape of a geometric object does not change after reconstruction, and to some extent, this algorithm can significantly promote the efficiency of parametric drawing system design and the intel- lectual level of human-computer interaction. The analysis shows that complexity of this algorithm is O(n2).展开更多

Experimental results indicate that active radic...The oxidation of Hg^0 by Pulse Corona Induced Plasma Chemical Process (PPCP) was investigated through changing discharge voltage, pulse frequency and gas compositions. Experimental results indicate that active radicals including O, O3 and OH can contribute to the oxidation of elemental mercury. 10 kV is the onset voltage, and the higher voltage the better removal efficiency. While with the increase of pulse frequency, the Hg^0 concentration falls rapidly at first but then rises rapidly. The best oxidation condition is at 12 kV and 600-800 PPS. Adding O2 can significantly promote oxidation. With NO and SO2 existed, there is an inhibition of mercury oxidation, and NO has a greater influence. Addition of HCl can promote oxidation slightly but affect the initial concentration of mercury significantly. Little moisture content can promote oxidation, while too much H2O can not only resist the oxidation, but also affect the initial concentration of mercury. The mercury oxidation rate can increase to 97.95% at 12 kV/800 PPS with the system of 10% 02/3% H2O/50 ppm HCI. However, mercury oxidation efficiency can reduce down to 20% with 100 ppm NO added.展开更多

While artificial intelligence answers in responsive patterns only, natural intelligence holds creative qualities. A match is a game that creates suspense over the question of who is going to prevail. It can thus only be a game that features competing human players, since a computerized opponent is unaware of the game's significance. The nature of the match lies within the interactive trial. In a play, however, there is no battle but only cooperation. The aesthetics of such a play unfold to the audience, its purpose is showing rather than experiencing and/or competitively interacting. Artificial intelligence is then a surrogate that is often used in videogames to create an illusion of competition or battle. Its actual purpose is not to feature a worthy opponent, but to be a programmatic loser. 文摘The fusion of VlSI (visual identity system Internet), digital maps and Web GIS is presented. Web GIS interface interactive design with VISI needs to consider more new factors. VISI can provide the design principle, elements and contents for the Web GIS. The design of the Wuhan Bus Search System is fulfilled to confirm the validity and practicability of the fusion.
文摘To solve the problem that in parametric drawing systems, unreasonable parameter values in a parametric model often result in an improper shape of a geometric object, this paper proposes a novel algebraic algorithm for determining the valid range of parameter values in certain 2-dimensional parametric drawing systems. This algorithm can solve valid range of parameters such as radius and coordinate of centre points of parametric models with only linear segments and circles. The result of the study shows that all values within the valid range provided by this algorithm can ensure that the topological shape of a geometric object does not change after reconstruction, and to some extent, this algorithm can significantly promote the efficiency of parametric drawing system design and the intel- lectual level of human-computer interaction. The analysis shows that complexity of this algorithm is O(n2).

文摘Mobile device research has been increasing rapidly in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) recently. Following this trend, this paper proposes a user-centered interface, which has been designed, completely installed and independently run on a mobile phone. Video signal is steamed through its camera as the image input to the interface by employing techniques of image processing, computer vision and graphics to identify automatically absolute positions of human face, neck and two hands. A paradigm is also put up theoretically. And it embeds this interface to perceive the human postures and convert them into relaxed comic character according to its context.
文摘The oxidation of Hg^0 by Pulse Corona Induced Plasma Chemical Process (PPCP) was investigated through changing discharge voltage, pulse frequency and gas compositions. Experimental results indicate that active radicals including O, O3 and OH can contribute to the oxidation of elemental mercury. 10 kV is the onset voltage, and the higher voltage the better removal efficiency. While with the increase of pulse frequency, the Hg^0 concentration falls rapidly at first but then rises rapidly. The best oxidation condition is at 12 kV and 600-800 PPS. Adding O2 can significantly promote oxidation. With NO and SO2 existed, there is an inhibition of mercury oxidation, and NO has a greater influence. Addition of HCl can promote oxidation slightly but affect the initial concentration of mercury significantly. Little moisture content can promote oxidation, while too much H2O can not only resist the oxidation, but also affect the initial concentration of mercury. The mercury oxidation rate can increase to 97.95% at 12 kV/800 PPS with the system of 10% 02/3% H2O/50 ppm HCI. However, mercury oxidation efficiency can reduce down to 20% with 100 ppm NO added.
文摘This paper sets out to argue the relevance for translation studies of complexity theory. It endeavours to argue, though briefly, that translation can be conceptualized as an emergent concept. It then indicates how theories of emergence in social studies provide new scope to theorise agency. Lastly, it considers the implications of the conceptualization for translator education. The arguments put forward in this paper lay the foundation for a philosophy of translation, i.e., a meta-theory of translation in which translation is viewed both as emerging from particular complex human interactions such as language and as being co-determined by complex contextual factors.
文摘Videogames feature non-player-characters. Such ingame entities are controlled by artificial intelligence that is sought to match the user's skill. Defining and understanding the given human-computer-interaction videogame genres can be differentiated in either competitive matches or coherent plays. While artificial intelligence answers in responsive patterns only, natural intelligence holds creative qualities. A match is a game that creates suspense over the question of who is going to prevail. It can thus only be a game that features competing human players, since a computerized opponent is unaware of the game's significance. The nature of the match lies within the interactive trial. In a play, however, there is no battle but only cooperation. The aesthetics of such a play unfold to the audience, its purpose is showing rather than experiencing and/or competitively interacting. Artificial intelligence is then a surrogate that is often used in videogames to create an illusion of competition or battle. Its actual purpose is not to feature a worthy opponent, but to be a programmatic loser. In narrative and linear videogames, such as AI takes the role of a supporting actor whose function in the plot is, to signalize the player's dominance.
文摘Hanzi (Chinese characters) has a long history and affluent contents. To promote the popularity of historical and cultural knowledge of Chinese characters, an online program has been launched by Beihang University and Beijing Normal University to explain Chinese characters' original meanings and evolution processes with vivid and expressive animation videos. Currently, More than 1,000 videos can be accessed through the website “http://www.chinesecharacter.org/”. Besides these online resources, a human-computer interaction system is also proposed to simulate clerical changes of Chinese characters through computer morphing technology. What we want is to make the teaching and learning of Chinese characters more reasonable, more easily understandable and more interesting.
