The current role of workplace learning would need to align to job and qualification requirements. Organisations would need to explore the development of Corporate Qualifications Frameworks to quantity skills needs. In the process, attention has to be paid to creat contextual awareness as well as a sense of purpose for learners. In essence, an integrated educational model that should be more flexible, more adaptable, and more effective, serving the needs of society at large should be considered. Care should be taken to build frameworks and models that address both the productive needs of organisations, whilst at the same time, ensuring the engagement of individuals. These frameworks should entice the employee to participate in a self-development process that benifits the organisation. Corporates should address the aspirations of individuals and plan more rewarding careers for staff. Employees should have a clear path for development and growth. Through collective effort, all particpants would benefit.展开更多

Questionnaires were submitted to 400 nurses and of which 386 were completed, resulting in a response rate of 96.5%. A sample of this size ensured the validity and reliability of the results. The data were analyzed using statistical analysis and techniques such as frequencies, means and path analysis using computer software SPSS for Windows 15.0 and LISREL 8.72. The results demonstrate (1) a significant, direct, and positive effect of personality on physical self-description; (2) a significant, direct, and negative effect of physical self-description on social physique anxiety; and (3) an indirect negative effect of personality on social physique anxiety through physical self-description. All paths in the model were significant (p 〈 0.05). Analysis using linear structural relational model (LISREL) demonstrated the suitability of the framework and proved that the model used was applicable for this research. The results of this research will be used as a reference to develop strategies for human resource management in Taiwan Residents hospitals.展开更多

It draws upon a creativity process that considers three "dimensions" or "disciplines" (3D) critical for creative organizations--within discipline expertise, out of discipline knowledge, and a disciplined creative process. The paper first explores the Cobb-Douglas production function as a relevant tool for modeling the 3D creative process. The next part discusses the 3D process as a production function, which is modeled following the well-known Cobb-Douglas specification. Last, the paper offers implications for future research on disciplined creativity/innovation as a method of improving organizations' creative performance. The modeling shows that labor and investment can readily enter into the 3D creativity process as inputs. These two inputs are meaningful in explaining where innovation outputs come from and how they can be measured, with a reasonable theoretical decomposition. It is not true that the more capital investments in the creativity process, the better the level of innovation production, but firm's human resource management and expenditures should pay attention to optimal levels of capital and labor stocks, in a combination that helps reach highest possible innovation output.展开更多
