Samples were investigated by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) analysis of the PCR-amplified 16S and 18S rRNA genes and specific bands were sequenced. Cluster analysis of the DGGE profiles revealed that all of the samples grouped into two distinct clusters, in accordance with sampling site; while in each cluster, the divergence of sub-clusters correlated with sampling depth. Sequence analysis of selected dominant DGGE bands revealed that most sequenced phylotypes (84%) exhibited 〉97% similarity to the closest sequences in GenBank, and were affiliated with ten common freshwater plankton phyla (Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Cyanobacteria, Bacillariophyta, Pyrrophyta, Cryptophyta, Ciliophora, Stramenopiles, and Rotifera). Several of these groups are also found worldwide, indicating the cosmopolitan distribution of the phylotypes. The relationships between DGGE patterns and environmental factors were analyzed by redundancy analysis (RDA). The results suggested that, total nitrogen, nitrate, nitrite, temperature were strongly correlated with the variation ammonia, and CODMn concentrations, and water in plankton composition.展开更多

We focus on nu-support vector machineregression and use it for phase space prediction of chaotic time series. The effectiveness of themethod is demonstrated by applying it to the Henon map. This study also compares nu-support vectormachine with back propagation (BP) networks in order to better evaluate the performance of theproposed methods. The experimental results show that the nu-support vector machine regressionobtains lower root mean squared error than the BP networks and provides an accurate chaotic timeseries prediction. These results can be attributable to the fact that nu-support vector machineimplements the structural risk minimization principle and this leads to better generalization thanthe BP networks.展开更多

A building block modeling method uses the modules of a six tuple to form a rule based solution model. Moreover, a rule based system has been designed and set up to solve the Dynamic Programming Model. This knowledge based representation can be easily used to express symbolical knowledge and dynamic characteristics for Dynamic Programming Model, and the inference based on the knowledge in the process of solving Dynamic Programming Model can also be conveniently realized in computer.展开更多

These new GIS tools can be readily applied in a practical and appropriate manner in spatial and temp oral research to patch the gaps in GIS data mining and knowledge discovery functions. The specific achievement here is the integration of related artificial intellig ent technologies into GIS software to establish a conceptual spatial and temporal analysis framework. And, by using this framework to develop an artificial intelligent spatial and tempor al information analyst (ASIA) system which then is fully utilized in the existin g GIS package. This study of air pollutants forecasting provides a geographical practical case to prove the rationalization and justness of the conceptual tempo ral analysis framework.展开更多

Thermal ionization method is based on two core concepts: electrical micro- and macro-instability of clouds. Cloud droplets increase in sizes in the ascending air under the influence of electric micro-instability. Macro-instability is responsible for the formation of space charges in convective clouds. Artificial rainfall and discharge of space charges of clouds may be caused by means of the electrical modification techniques. The key role in these processes belongs to thermionic production of artificial light and heavy ions, which are formed as the result of applying a pyrotechnic composition of potassium-magnesium compounds. Negative ions are hydrated and adsorbed by cloud droplets leading to their growth and further rainfall. An artificial ionized channel allows to change cloud conductivity, which prevents clouds from accumulating thunderstorm electricity. Electrical methods of cloud modification can be used for the artificial induction of precipitation, prevention of natural hazards, thunderstorms, tornadoes and heavy rains.展开更多

Our results show that the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, mean pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, typing test speed and memory level percentage are negatively correlated with temperature value, and positively correlated with humidity value; the human temperature and weight are positively correlated with temperature value, and negatively correlated with humidity value. This research lays the foundation for the study of interaction between the deep confined space environment and safety behavior.展开更多
