Later Li Bin, the governor of the province in the Qing Dynasty led the construction of the Dujiangyan Irrigation System which led to the development of agriculture in the Chengdu Plain, gaining the region the title "Land of Abundance". In the Tang dynasty, people built Luocheng City and dug the Qingyuan, Jieyuxi and Jinshui rivers. Constent dredging of the waterways in the Song Dynasty led to a crisscross network of rivers around Chengdu City.Clear water in the fast flowing river resulted in the booming production of the Shu paper and Shu brocade, later Chengdu also became knoxtn as the "Brocade City".展开更多
