Discussion on Shaping the Sound Personality of College Students in the Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities

The Role of the Examination Management for Medical Students in Humanities Education and Training Professional Quality

It has been proved by years of research that if the function of examination management cannot be fully understood or be used effectively, the humanities education and train of professional quality for medical students will not make a fundamental achievement. Because it is not only an academic training but also the examination management and the humanities cultivation have a close connection. The humanities cultivation which is based on the core of virtue requires a good campus environment. Therefore, we should adjust to the medical students＇ humanities quality training requirements, making the targeted reform and innovation of examination management.

Learning Business Ethics in Schools

Business ethics is a contemporary issue among business professionals. To enhance business ethics in the long run, educating future business professionals in colleges （i.e., college students） is one of the starting points. This paper aims to investigate students＇ perceptions on business ethics, such as their perceived importance of business ethics, knowledge of and interest in business ethics, their preferred method of introducing business ethics, and the perceived usefulness of learning business ethics in lessons. Focus groups will be used to collect feedback on these issues from students with different gender and seniority in colleges. This study will give insights into the students＇ perceptions on business ethics and suggest ways/methodology to increase the awareness of business ethics in colleges. Business professionals and educators can make reference to the findings to develop relevant materials on business ethics to their employees and students.

Body Weight Models in a Population-Based Study of Albanian School Adolescents

The aim of this study was to investigate the body weight models among adolescent school students and to establish the national prevalence of being overweight and obesity in Albanian adolescents. Overweight and obesity is a global public health concern. There is limited information on overweight and obesity in Albanian adolescents. A cross-sectional study on a stratified sample of 1,786 adolescents who attended school, 705 （39%） males and 1,081 （61%） females was conducted in Albania in January-December 2011. They were interviewed and examined for weight and height using standardized techniques. Referring to the 2007 WHO classification for the BMI scale it resulted that 4.4% 95% CI 3.5 - 5.4 adolescents resulted overweight where 32.9% were females and 67.1% were males with a statistically significant difference among them, P 〈 0.01. The overall prevalence of overweight in adolescent females was 2.4%, while in males was 7.5%. The prevalence of obesity class I resulted 0.4%, the obesity class II was 0.3% and obesity class III was 0.1% 95% CI 0.02 - 0.3 from the total of participants. A remarkable finding of our study was that 70.8% of adolescent school students were in normal weight, 20% of them underweight, where 71.7% were females, P 〈 0.01.

Discussion on the Standardized Management of College and University Students＇ Electronic Laboratory Operation

At present, all aspects of China have entered the era of a rapid development, while the development speed of digital electronic technology is especially outstanding. This is a new way for China＇ s new personnel training, and also proposes higher requirements on this type of personnel training institutions. In view of the demands of society and different majors on personnel, an enhancement to the standardized management of electronic laboratory operations becomes one of the important tasks for personnel training institutions. In this paper, how to practice the standardization management in an all-round way is discussed centered at college and university students＇ electronic laboratory.

The Development of Mathematical Modelling Activities from Thematic Projects in the Social-Critical Perspective

In this paper, the authors present a modelling activity developed from a thematic project in the models and mathematical modelling class of the professional master＇s degree program in mathematics education at the Federal University of Ouro Preto. The students enrolled in the class chose to study the theme Brazilian Public Politics. After several debates regarding the theme, the students were separated into three groups and each group chose a subtheme to study. The themes were IDH （index of human development）, minimum wage and social security. As an example, a description of the thematic project about the minimum wage in Brazil is presented. The principal results obtained in the study of this theme include a discussion about the potentialities of the theme as a classroom activity in different levels of schooling. As an educational activity, the thematic project demonstrated itself to be greatly relevant, since not only did it provide the learning possibility of mathematics related to the issues studied, but also promoted various discussions regarding the theme, which, in our conception, contributes to the social-critical development of the students. Finally, from the point of view of applied mathematics and mathematics education, the development of a modelling activity from thematic projects showed itself to be a good source of researches.

＂Spiritual Adult＂ and Innovation of Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities

Whether college students can grow up to be ＂spiritual adults＇is directly related to their healthy growth. The implementation of ＂spiritual adult＂ education in the ideological and political education in colleges and universities should give play to university spirits＇osmosis in college students＇ spiritual cultivation, to the impact of classroom teaching on the improvement of college students＇ humanistic quality, to the impact of social practice on college students＇ self-development and self-discipline, to the university counselors＇role of teaching students how to be mature and useful, and to campus culture＇s deifying influence on cultivation of the students＇ virtues.

A study of nonlinear age-structured population models

This paper presents a novel analysis for the solution of nonlinear age-structured prob- lem which is of extreme importance in biological sciences. The presented model is very useful but quite complicated. Modified variational iteration method （MVIM） coupled with auxiliary parameter is used to cope with the complexity of the model which subse- quently shows better results as compared to some existing results available in literature. Furthermore, an appropriate way is used for the identification of auxiliary parameter by means of residual function. Numerical examples are presented for the analysis of the pro- posed algorithm. Graphical results along with the discussions re-confirm the efficiency of proposed algorithm. The work proposes a new algorithm where He＇s polynomials and an auxiliary parameter are merged with correction functional. The suggested scheme is implemented on nonlinear age-structured population models. Graphs are plotted for the residual function that reflects the accuracy and convergence of the presented algorithm.
