A total of 176 serum samples were collected and screened by Rose Bengal Plate Test (RBPT). The positive sera vqere further examined using Tube Agglutination Test (TAT) and c-Elisa. The seropositivity was 15.9%, 14.8% and 11.4% using RBPT, TAT and c-Elisa respectively. Whereas, the active infection based on seropositivity and clinical signs were 4.6%, 4.6% and 2.3% in case of RBPT, TAT and c-Elisa respectively. Based on c-Elisa result the infected individuals were further subjected to clinical examination and treated with streptomycin and doxocycline for six weeks.展开更多

The author performed a preliminary prospective, randomized, single-blinded clinical trial (n=21) in a cross-over design comparing acupuncture treatment, which was either compatible with individual Chinese diagnosis according to the Heidelberg Model of TCM (i-ACU) or a standardized treatment on acupoints with no specific relation to TCM diagnosis (u-ACU). The repeated measures analysis revealed a significant effect for i-ACU vs. u-ACU (F =7.2, df=1.37, P=-0.011). The study revealed first evidence that acupuncture may prolong 6 min walk distance as a key parameter of heart failure.展开更多

Thus, it is desirable to select a good blocked design before running the experiment. Mostly, a single block variable was used in the literature to treat the inhomogeneity for simplicity. However, in practice, the inhomogeneity often comes from multi block variables. Recently, a new criterion called B2-GMC was proposed for two-level regular designs with multi block variables. This paper proposes a systematic theory on constructing some B^2-GMC designs for the first time. Experimenters can easily obtain the B^2-GMC designs according to the construction method. Pros of B^2-GMC designs are highlighted in Section 4, and the designs with small run sizes are tabulated in Appendix B for practical use.展开更多
