Under the constantly changing production and marketing conditions including globalization,the fashion apparel industries are frequently restructuring to maintain customers and sustain competitiveness.One of the method...Under the constantly changing production and marketing conditions including globalization,the fashion apparel industries are frequently restructuring to maintain customers and sustain competitiveness.One of the methodologies adopted by manufacturers includes mass customization,which attempts to produce near custom made product at near mass production cost.Since swimwear requires tighter fit tolerance and still has fashion content,it has been used in this study to illustrate the ease of design change,design modification,and customization.Multi-style design of swimsuit is very demanding and time-consuming if traditional design methods are applied.Swimsuit manufacturers require systems with the capacity to deal with garment design process as a whole,including possibilities to work directly within a 3D graphic environment.However,it is realised that one of the major challenges in garment design concerns the physically-based simulation of production and 3D visualization.An innovation method consisting of a computer-aided design(CAD)system,allowing the designer to perform multi-style swimsuit design on a customized virtual human body,is presented in this paper.The 3D visualization and personalization of the simulation results are presented to help the designers to preview and determine whether the design of the swimsuit is satisfactory and then obtain feedback to improve their designs iteratively.The new functions of the virtual system provide the abilities to perform intelligent design of various swimsuit styles and materials for different body parts according to individual design requirements.The advantages of innovative design method for swimsuit have been discussed in this paper and examples have been provided to illustrate the ease of use CAD in design simulation and innovation.展开更多
This study focuses on thirty-five Low-level/achieving students on General Education English which meets for two hour.,; per week, eight weeks for two consecutive semesters （totaling thirty-two hours） in the Universi...This study focuses on thirty-five Low-level/achieving students on General Education English which meets for two hour.,; per week, eight weeks for two consecutive semesters （totaling thirty-two hours） in the University of Technology in Taiwan. Its chief aims four-fold： First, to promote the students＇ learning motivation; second, to increase the students＇ learning interests; third, to raise their English abilities by reading theme-based/oriented topics; and, fourth, instruct them by giving guidelines to make Power-Point presentations in class. A prior or pilot survey was conducted to provide empirical opportunities to collect and explore the participants＇ views, comments, and opinions in relation to the selected research questions on this topic. The results also indicate that students can speak different/various length of words, utilize appropriate phrase to express their ideas or goals, and to speak in various/different paces, etc. Teachers couldn＇t assess the students only by their test results due to the different learning styles adopted by individual students; however, through this survey, students can be better assisted through the identification of their individual styles or habits, their individual styles or habits of learning. As regards relevant knowledge about their students＇ learning styles, teachers may consider whether and how to adjust their methods of teaching in order to better motivate them to learn English more effectively and efficiently.展开更多
The aim of this paper is to analyze the album covers of English band Depeche Mode after 80＇s according to the principles of graphic design. Established in 1980, the musical style of the band was turned from synth-pop...The aim of this paper is to analyze the album covers of English band Depeche Mode after 80＇s according to the principles of graphic design. Established in 1980, the musical style of the band was turned from synth-pop to new wave, from new wave to electronic, dance, and alternative-rock in decades, but their message stayed as it was： A non-hypocritical, humanist, and decent manner against what is wrong and in love sincerely. As a graphic design product, album covers are pre-print design solutions of two dimensional surfaces. Graphic design, as a design field, has its own elements and principles. Visual elements and typography are the two components which should unite with the help of the six main principles which are： unity/harmony; balance; hierarchy; scale/proportion; dominance/emphasis; and similarity and contrast. All album covers of Depeche Mode after 80＇s were designed in a simple but dominant way in order to form a unique style. On every album cover, there are huge color, size, tone, and location contrasts which concluded in simple domination; domination of a non-hypocritical, humanist, and decent manner against what is wrong and in love sincerely.展开更多
