PCC 6803 cells grown in the BG-11 medium containing different concentrations of glucose and Na2S2O3 in this study. It was found that Na2S2O3 can effectively increase the percentage of sulphoquinovosyl diacylglycerol (SQDG) and phosphatidylglycerol (PG) to total membrane lipids and the simultaneous application of glucose with Na2S2O3 can counteract the effect of Na2S2O3. In addition, Na2S2O3 can significantly increase the percentage of palmitic acid (C, 16:0) in fatty acid composition of monogalactosyl diacylglycerol (MGDG) and digalactosyl diacylglycerol (DGDG) and decrease the fatty acid unsaturation degree accordingly, and these effects can also be eliminated by glucose. These results indicate that Na2S2O3 can take as a reductant to make membrane lipids in a low unsaturated state, and the simultaneous application of glucose can decrease the reducing power of Na2S2O3. In addition, Na2S2O3 can take as a sulfur donor for the synthesis of SQDG.展开更多

A web-based supplier relationships (SR) framework is therfore proposed using multi-agent systems and linear programming technique to reduce supply cost, increase flexibility and shorten response time. Web-based SR approach is an ideal platform for information exchange that helps buyers and suppliers to maintain the availability of materials in the right quantity, at the right place, and at the right time, and keep the customer-supplier relationship more transparent. A multi-agent system prototype was implemented by simulation, which shows the feasibility of the proposed architecture.展开更多

The results showed the highest dry matter production of both corn and wheat under the moderate combination of phosphorus (0.6 mmol L-1 ) and zinc (2.0 μmol L-1 ) as compared with other imbalance applications of phosphorus and zinc. Excessive P supply significantly inhibited the translocation of Zn from roots of corn to the aboveground part, thus decreasing the content of Zn in the shoots. Application of 3.0 mmol L-1 P could also reduce the water-soluble Zn in plant tissues, leading to an increase in the cell plasma membrane permeability, a decrease in the dehydrogenase activity in roots and the activity of nitrate reductase in leaves, and a decline in the uptake of nitrate by plants. A similar decrease occurred in superoxide dismutase (SOD) and plasma membrane adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase) activity in Zn-deficient plants. But, with increasing P supply, the activity of ATPase in both corn and wheat increased and reached the maximum at the p-supplying level of 3.0 mmol L-1. Similar to the effect of high P supply, no or low P (0.12 mmol L-1 ) supply could be detrimental to dry matter production and physiological functioning of the plants. Corn plants showed a more significant response to the imbalance supply of P and Zn than wheat plants. The possible physiological and biochemical mechanism of phosphorus-zinc antagonistic interaction in corn and wheat might be attributed to decrease in physiological availability and activation of Zn.展开更多

Identification and quantification of principal and trace elements which compose this volcanic glass allow source tracking. The present study proposes a investigation methodology, which was developed on a sample set composed by archaeological obsidian findings from Neolithic sites in Latium; three different analytical techniques are compared: SEM-EDXS, ED-XRF and LA-ICP-MS, in order to gather a wide data set to be compared with data in literature and to be processed by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) for assigning a provenance to each find.展开更多
