Based on the analysis on the protocols of realistic P2P systems, a software which can be used to simulate the P2P network environment and the propagation of P2P active worm is imple- mented in this paper. A large number of simulation experiments are performed using the developed simulation software. The results from these simulation experiments validate the proposed model, which means that the model can be used to analyze the spreading behaviors of the P2P active worm and predict its trend.展开更多

Patch models involve explicit movements of people between distinct locations. The aim of the present work has been designed and explored a patch model with population mobility between different patches and between each patch and an external population. The authors considered a SIR (susceptible-infected-recovered) scheme. The model was explored by computer simulations. The results show how endemic levels are reached in all patches of the system. Furthermore, the performed explorations suggest that the people mobility between patches, the immigration from outside the system and the infection rate in each patch, are factors that may influence the dynamics of epidemics and should be considered in health policy planning.展开更多

The effect of partial discharge was studied by means of a number of simulations. The simulations were based on the well-known three capacitor model for partial discharge. An equivalent circuit was derived for partial discharge due to a single void in the insulation material of a power cable. The results obtained from the simulations will form the basis of the design proses of a non-intrusive condition monitoring technique. The technique is based on the classification of discharge activity according to five levels of PD. Future work will include the improvement of the simulation model by investigating the high frequency model of a power cable as well as the statistical nature of PD activity. This will improve the accuracy of the simulation results when compared to actual measurements. The work discussed in this paper will be used to construct and calibrate a practical model which will make use of PD measurements for non-intrusive condition monitoring of medium voltage electrical cables.展开更多

Several automated screening techniques are used to detect individual lesions in the retina. Still it takes more dependency of time and experts. To overcome those problems and also automatically detect DR in easier and faster way, we took into soft computing approaches in our proposed work. Our proposed work will discuss several amounts of soft computing algorithms, it can detect DR features (landmark and retinal lesions) in an easy manner. Processes includes are: (1) Pre-processing; (2) Optic disc localization and segmentation; (3) Localization of fovea; (4) Blood vessel segmentation; (5) Feature extraction; (6) Feature selection; Finally (7) detection of diabetic retinopathy stages (mild, moderate, severe and PDR). Our experimental results based on Matlab simulation and it takes databases of STARE and DRIVE. Proposed effective soft computing approaches should improve the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy.展开更多
