The small-medium sized enterprise （SME） in China has made considerable progress and been the main power to promote the regional economic development. SME cluster at the small town in the developed areas along the east coast of China. This paper analyses the relationship between SME cluster and the economic development of small towns. The conclusion is that SME cluster is the direction of the small town＇s development. The special cultural tradition and value conception are the important location conditions to develop SME cluster. In the end, the author provides some countermeasures to develop SME clusters in the small towns.

Research of E-commerce Application in Small and Medium Enterprises——A Case Study of Wenzhou

The paper analyzes the status quo of E-commerce application in Wenzhou＇s small and medium enterprises. This survey selects the 100 prominent small and medium enterprises covering chemical engineering, shoes, apparel, machinery, furniture, glasses, lighters, pen and pencil, electric and electronics as the investigating targets and issues the questionnaires to them. The result indicates that, the status quo of E-commerce application in Wenzhou＇s small and medium enterprises are worrisome, which is obviously way behind other cities. Based on that, the paper analyzes the reasons in combination with visiting them, and also proposes the corresponding strategies and predicts its prospect in the end.

Mapping the Layout of China's Strategic Emerging Industries

Currently,technology,human resources,economic development level and resource endowment determine the spatial layout of China's strategic emerging industries,whose development is dominated by large state-owned enterprises and leading firms.Disparities in the layout of strategic emerging industries are limited for economically developed regions in China but significant for less developed regions.In this context,the Chinese government should be alarmed of repetitive development and excessive input of industrial resources;encourage the development of private capital and prevent the monopoly of state-owned enterprises;adopt a strategy of complementary advantages,and promote industrial relocation for the multi-tiered and non-equilibrium development of strategic emerging industries in China.

Economic Development and Small Businesses in Japan

Japan’s economy lost most of its industrial production force as a result of World War II. However, from 1955 onwards, Japan has achieved rapid economic growth, joining the group of the world’s most developed countries by the early 1970s. The period from 1955 to the early 1970s is generally regarded as a period of High Economic Growth. There are various opinions regarding the factors that enabled Japan to attain such high economic growth, referred to as the Economic Miracle. The Effect of Tax as an Instrument of Fiscal Policy in Kosovo

This paper analyzes and discusses the tax system applied in Kosovo during the period from 1999 until now. It demonstrates the effects of tax policies on the country＇s economic growth and development of businesses in general. This paper also addresses the impact of those policies in maintaining the social equilibrium of a population and economic stability of the country. Applied tax policies in Kosovo have been aimed more at maintaining a stable fiscal and budgetary policy. Based on the analysis of real cases of Kosovo tax laws and their impact on particular businesses, this paper will demonstrate how tax policies applied in Kosovo have given less attention to the need of economic development, which should have been reflected through promoting the development of domestic production, reduction of unemployment, and reduction of the high trade deficit. Empirical evidence from this analysis is discussed, conclusions are derived, and the recommendations of this paper are provided.

Implications of a Crisis on Small Businesses in the European Union and Republic of Croatia

Until the early 1990s Croatia has been neglecting, and even underestimating the significance, the role, the needs, and the results of small businesses （small and medium entrepreneurship）. Complete attention was focused on big companies. Relatively late, in 2002, small businesses, within the statutory legislation, have gotten its appropriate legal status and economic relevance. Today it is treated as a ＂basic necessity＂ of every society and a generator of economic development. But, economic crisis that has been present since 2008 has manifested all of its negativities, which has reflected on the present state of the economy, the whole society, and it is also shown from the results and some relevant indicators.

Compliance of Documentation Transfer Pricing Requirements in Foreign Direct Investment Enterprises in Vietnam

The increase of inter-boundary transactions brings a number of benefits for enterprises. However, even when benefits of transfer pricing are evident, multinational organizations still face legal challenges, including performing parts of transactions in another jurisdiction and motives of tax officials in investigating transfer pricing. This is especially true when countries do not want to lose benefits from tax collection. Therefore, many countries and organizations such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development （OECD）, Pacific Association of Tax Administrators （PATA）, the European Union （EU）, and Vietnam have introduced requirements for transfer pricing documentation to prevent transfer pricing manipulation and maintain benefits from taxes. The aim of this research was to assess the compliance of those requirements of foreign direct investment （FDI） enterprises in Vietnam. This article which is a summary of our research includes the following sections： （1） OECD guidelines of transfer pricing documentation; （2） Vietnam regulations of transfer pricing documentation; （3） results of the research; and （4） discussion and conclusion.

People pay much more attention on females who start their own business in the past two decades. One reason is that the notion of gender equality is brought into practice, therefore, starting a business is no longer for male only. Another reason is that female entrepreneurs can also improve their social status and drive the economy by starting their own enterprises. The purpose of microfinanee programs is to encourage women to start an enterprise. Moreover, women can get financial sustainability, poverty alleviation, and more female empowerment through their business. The research applies the conception of microfinance programs to discuss if 10 Hakka female entrepreneurs can achieve the effect of empowerment through the promotion of economic ability. Furthermore, the research focuses on Hakka female entrepreneurs in Miaoli area, and probes into entrepreneurial situations and difficulties in order to find out what can be empowered for expanding their business.

Empirical Research on the Relationship between Best Corporation Practices and Environmental Performance

Is the adoption of best practice in business associated with improved environmental performance？ And what methods can he used to assess and compare the environmental practices and performance of different companies？ In this paper, through case anatysis, the business environmental practices and performance of five companies in the manufacturing sector were examined and scored. Assessing these companies practices and performance according to “The best practice model” designed by Australian Manufacturing Council （AMC. 1994）. The finding shows that there is strong correlation between environmental practices and performance of companies （r=0.85, p〈0.05）, and indicates that corporate paying attention to environmental issue will improve its all performances in business.
