The study methodology includes theoretical search and field research with descriptive exploratory method. The results indicate that there is need to be investing in people management, demonstrating that there is still much to be improved, particularly as regards the development of workers. In this sense, it is recommended that invested more in continuing education and refresher courses for staff development, entrepreneurship training to show concern in giving them the opportunity to grow personally and professionally and still have other competitive advantages such as increased productivity, reduced costs, improved quality, and reduction in turnover of staff.展开更多

Changes in the sectors of iron, steel and non-ferrous metals and the current development of technology forces the steel mills increased productivity, reduce production costs while ensuring to obtain a product with the required properties and to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in the global market. Currently, the most popular in meeting these requirements, enjoys a method of integration which combines individual operations into one integrated whole. The use of modem, perfectly designed, fully automated design of mechanical, hydraulic and measurement allowed us to achieve an innovative line of production. This article presents the general characteristics of the steel industry and a description of the latest integrated technology currently used in foundries and rolling mills. It also presents examples of the use of integrated technologies in metallurgy and the effects of economic, environmental and quality resulting from their use on an industrial scale.展开更多

This provokes significant changes in the processes of manufacturing, assembly, and testing The cost of such a type of production can be reduced by employing highly productive reconfigurable equipment with proper software to enable optimization. This paper presents a decision support extension for directing of hydraulic cylinders to assembly-testing lines using fuzzy logic in the Enterprise Resource Planning system of a small size production in a factory in Bulgaria. Different assembly-testing lines are flexibly assigned to the specific cylinder's parameters by the developed fuzzy system on the basis of the overlapping of parameters in the hydraulic cylinders classification. The final decision on the line assigned in case of alternatives is made through accounting for the minimal cylinder delay time. The effectiveness of the approach is assessed by simulation. It leads to an increase of the efficiency of the assembly-testing flow lines, a reduction of the time needed for hydraulic cylinders assembling and testing and balanced loading of the modules.展开更多

The experiment was set out as a randomized complete block design with three replications of three treatments: banana-pineapple rotation (AB), banana-papaya rotation (BB) and banana monoculture (CK) in a conventional tillage system. Soil samples were taken at depths of 0-10, 10-20 and 20-30 cm, and nematodes were extracted by a modified cotton-wool filter method and identified to the genus level. Nematode ecological indices of Shannon-Weaver diversity (Ht), dominance index (A), maturity index (MI), plant parasite index (PPI), structure index (SI), enrichment index (EI), and channel index (CI) were calculated. A total of 28 nematode genera with relative abundance over 0.1% were identified, among which Tylenchus and Paratylenchus in the AB, Thonus in the BB, Tylenchus and Helicotylenchus in the CK were the dominant genera. The rotation soils favored bacterivores, fungivores and omnivores-predators with high colonizer-persister (c-p) values. Soil food web in the rotation systems was highly structured, mature and enriched as indicated by SI, MI and EI values, respectively. Higher abundance of bacterivores and lower values of CI suggested that the soil food web was dominated by a bacterial decomposition pathway in rotation soils. Nematode diversity was much higher after a decade of rotation. Soil depth had significant effects on the abundance of soil nematodes, but only on two nematode ecological indices (λ and MI).展开更多
