For modelin...The modeling and optimization of an industrial-scale crude distillation unit (CDU) are addressed. The main spec- ifications and base conditions of CDU are taken from a crude oil refinery in Wuhan, China. For modeling of a com- plicated CDU, an improved wavelet neural network (WNN) is presented to model the complicated CDU, in which novel parametric updating laws are developed to precisely capture the characteristics of CDU. To address CDU in an economically optimal manner, an economic optimization algorithm under prescribed constraints is presented. By using a combination of WNN-based optimization model and line-up competition algorithm (LCA), the supe- rior performance of the proposed approach is verified. Compared with the base operating condition, it is validat- ed that the increments of products including kerosene and diesel are up to 20% at least by increasing less than 5% duties of intermediate coolers such as second pump-around (PA2) and third Dump-around (PA3).展开更多

In this paper, a novel scheduling strategy is proposed for a practical crude oil blending process. The objective is to keep the property of feedstock, mainly described by the true boiling point (TBP) data, consistent and suitable. Firstly, the mathematical model is established. Then, a heuristically initialized hybrid iterative (HIHI) algorithm based on a two-level optimization structure, in which tabu search (TS) and differential evolution (DE) are used for upper-level and lower-level optimization, respectively, is proposed to get the model solution. Finally, the effectiveness and efficiency of the scheduling strategy is validated via real data from a certain refinery.展开更多

In this paper, a PSO type-reduction method for GIT-2FLS based on the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is presented. With the PSO type-reduction, the inference principle of geometric interval FLS operating on the continuous domain is consistent with that of traditional interval type-2 FLS operating on the discrete domain. With comparative experiments, it is proved that the PSO type-reduction exhibits good performance, and is a satisfactory complement for the theory of GIT-2FLS.展开更多
