With the aim of visualizing the real-time simulation calculation of water delivery system (WDS), a structural drawing-oriented (SDO) simulation technique was presented, and applied to Zhangjiuhe Diversion Project, which is a long-distance water delivery system constructed for draw- ing water from the Zhangjiuhe River to Kunming city. Taking SIMULINK software as simulating plat-form, the technique established a visual dynamic simulation model for the system. The simulation procedure of the system was simplified,and the efficiency of modeling was also enhanced according to the modularization and reutilization of the simulation program. Furthermore, a self-optimization model was presented. Based on the digital simulation models, the on line controlled optimization link was added, and the input data can be continually optimized according to the feedback information of simulating output. The system was thus optimized automatically. Built upon MATLAB software, simulation optimization of the Zhangjiuhe Diversion Project was achieved, which provides a new way for the research of optimal operation of WDS. 展开更多

A microbial fuel cell(MFC)is a novel promising technology for simultaneous renewable electricity generation and wastewater treatment.Three non-comparable objectives,i.e.power density,attainable current density and waste removal ratio,are often conflicting.A thorough understanding of the relationship among these three conflicting objectives can be greatly helpful to assist in optimal operation of MFC system.In this study,a multiobjective genetic algorithm is used to simultaneously maximizing power density,attainable current density and waste removal ratio based on a mathematical model for an acetate two-chamber MFC.Moreover,the level diagrams method is utilized to aid in graphical visualization of Pareto front and decision making.Three biobjective optimization problems and one three-objective optimization problem are thoroughly investigated.The obtained Pareto fronts illustrate the complex relationships among these three objectives,which is helpful for final decision support.Therefore,the integrated methodology of a multi-objective genetic algorithm and a graphical visualization technique provides a promising tool for the optimal operation of MFCs by simultaneously considering multiple conflicting objectives. 展开更多

A risk analysis and a decision-making method of tunnel engineering construction schedule based on visual simulation are presented. Furthermore, using S curve theory and schedule management method, the real-time management and control method of tunnel engineering construction based on visual simulation is presented. Derivation of Optimal Global Equalization Function with Variable Size Block Based Local Contrast Enhancement

A conventional global contrast enhancement is difficult to apply in various images because image quality and contrast enhancement are dependent on image characteristics largely. And a local contrast enhancement not only causes a washed-out effect, but also blocks. To solve these drawbacks, this paper derives an optimal global equalization function with variable size block based local contrast enhancement. The optimal equalization function makes it possible to get a good quality image through the global contrast enhancement. The variable size block segmentation is firstly exeoated using intensity differences as a measure of similarity. In the second step, the optimal global equalization function is obtained from the enhanced contrast image having variable size blocks. Conformed experiments have showed that the proposed algorithm produces a visually comfortable result image. 展开更多

Trade-off Optimization for Scalable Video Coding Streaming in Relay-Based OFDMA Networks

To achieve an optimal trade-off between video quality and energy efficiency in the uplink streaming of multi-user Scalable Video Coding (SVC) videos in relay-based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA)... To achieve an optimal trade-off between video quality and energy efficiency in the uplink streaming of multi-user Scalable Video Coding (SVC) videos in relay-based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) cellular networks, a cross-layer design framework that jointly selects the Transmission Policy (TP) for SVC video frames, assigns OFDMA subcarriers, and allocates power for each subcarrier is proposed. We apply the dual decomposition method to the problem, and obtain a TP selection subproblem for each SVC video adaptation and a resource allocation subproblem of Joint Subcarrier, Relay and Power Allocation (JSRPA). A second level of dual decomposition is used to divide the JSRPA problem into independent subcarrier subproblems. The proposed Crosslayer Trade-off Optimization (CTO) algorithm is sub-distributed with significantly low complexity. A performance evaluation with typical SVC video traces demonstrates that the proposed algorithm is able to converge and efficiently achieve the optimal trade-off between the video quality and energy consumption at the MSs for uplink SVC streaming. 展开更多
