A dynamic testing system is used to gain the dynamic responses of wheel-soil interactions, The Gauss-Newton algorithm is adopted to estimate the undetermined parameters involved in the slip sinkage models. Wong's original model is compared with three typical slip sinkage models on the prediction performance of a drawbar pull. The maximum error rate, root mean squared error and correlation coefficient are utilized to evaluate the performance. The results indicate that the slip sinkage models outperform Wong's model and greatly improve the prediction accuracy. Lyasko's model is confirmed as an outstanding one for its comprehensive performance. Hence, the existence of the slip sinkage effect is validated. Lyasko's model is selected as an optimal one for the practical evaluation of military vehicle trafficability.展开更多

[Method] Based on the application characteristics of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), the intelligent greenhouse monitoring system was designed. And for the incompleteness strategy of load balancing in the Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH), a Real- time Threshold Routing Algorithm (RTRA) was proposed. [Result] The performance of network lifetime and network delay of RTRA were tested in MATLAB and found that, within the same testing environment, RTRA can save nodes energy consumption, prolong network lifetime, and had better real-time performance than LEACH. The al- gorithm satisfies the crops' requirements on real-time and energy efficiency in the greenhouse system. [Conclusion] For the good performance on real-time, the de- signed intelligent greenhouse real-time monitoring system laid the foundation for the research and development of agricultural informatization and intellectualization.展开更多

Experimental simulations show that the soft sensor modeling approach has the advantage via a real-world example in a refinery. A real platform (5 DOF "Degree Of Freedom" Lab Volt 5150 Robotic Arm) is used to carry this work practically, in addition to providing it by a vision sensor, where a new approach is proposed to inspect the robot work environment using a designed integrated MATLAB program having the ability to recognize the changeable locations of each of the robotic arm's end-effector, the goal, and the multi existed obstacles through a recorded film taken by a webcam, then these information will be treated using the FLC where its outputs represent the values that must be delivered to the robot to adopt them in its next steps till reaching to the goal in collision-free movements. The experimental results showed that the developed robotic ann travels successfully from Start to Goal where a high percentage of accuracy in arriving to Goal was achieved, and without colliding with any obstacle ensuring the harmonization between the theoretical part and the experimental part in achieving the best results of controlling the robotic arm's motion.展开更多

A green roof is a specialized roof system that supports vegetation growth on rooftops.This technology is rapidly gaining popularity as a sustainable design option for buildings.In order to contribute to an understandi...A green roof is a specialized roof system that supports vegetation growth on rooftops.This technology is rapidly gaining popularity as a sustainable design option for buildings.In order to contribute to an understanding of green roof in regions with cold winters and snow,an on-site experimental investigation was present with a focus on the assessment of green roof performance during the winter.This field experiment took place on a six small buildings during the winter of 2010-2011.The work monitored three buildings with green roofs,two buildings with reference roofs and one building with a bare soil coverage for the roof.These six buildings were identically constructed and instrumented with sensor networks to provide heat flux data through the roofs.The 15 min averaged data were statistically analyzed for a week under the two separate periods,first without a snow cover and second with a snow cover.The results show that the roof type is a significant factor in affecting the thermal performance of these buildings.Most importantly,green roofs reduce heat flow through the roof and thus reduce the heating energy demand during the winter.However,the energy savings for buildings with the green roofs are reduced under snow conditions because the snow diminishes thermal resistance of the roof and increases the heat transfer process through the roofs.展开更多

Computerized device for detecting NLCI is based on commercially available Gas Discharge Camera (www.ktispb.ru) and allows following time dynamics of several sensors in NLCI conditions. The typical sensors are: water, air, earth, and wood, this instrument was named "The 5th Element". Readings are taken continuously by special software every five or ten seconds in automatic mode. Sensitivity of the device was tested by detecting the influence of total sun eclipse in Siberia in 2008 and by detecting sunrise and sunset. Several experimental modalities have been developed: (1) directed NLCI of a person; (2) directed NLCI of a group of people; and (3) non-directed NLCI of a group of people. On the basis of multi-sensor observation sets,the observation is exchanged at different times to construct a new observation set. Based on each observation set,an extended Kalman filter algorithm is used to estimate the state of the target,and then the federal filtering algorithm is used to solve the state estimation based on the multi-sensor observation data. The effect of the sensor probing probability on the filtering result and the effect of the number of sensors on the filtering result are obtained by the simulation experiment,respectively. At present time, there has been a demand for management systems that can survey and monitor a PC (personal computer) practice room, movement of people in an office, situation of utilization of facilities and so on i...At present time, there has been a demand for management systems that can survey and monitor a PC (personal computer) practice room, movement of people in an office, situation of utilization of facilities and so on in real time without causing psychological stress. For example, PC administrators in Japanese national educational institutions must report operation status of PC practice rooms once a year. But, there is currently no system for automatically recording PC operating situations. Therefore, the burden on the PC administrators is big. In this study, we aimed at systems for accurately managing the sitting and work time without psychologically stressing PC users. This time, we propose uniform management systems of sitting and work time using smart tap node and mat sensor node by IoT (Internet of Things) technology. The smart tap was connected to PCs to acquire the operating status of the PCs. In parallel with this smart tap, the mat sensor was used to acquire human presence state. By calculating binary data representing the PC operating status and human presence state from the two sensing data (smart tap and mat sensor) by the proposed technique, we can exactly calculate wasteful power consumption etc. The use of IoT technology makes it unnecessary to use large installation services when introducing our system. Therefore, this our proposal system can be easily installed even by unskilled workers.展开更多

It is composed by two active wheels, each one driven by DC motor with a high torque and a transmission system containing two spur gears. In the past, for the lack of appropriate technique to measure the deforma...Presented the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors for rock strain monitoring in the 1.2 m long plane stress model of the simulation experiment. In the past, for the lack of appropriate technique to measure the deformation of rock structures, the measurement of deflection was restricted to just a few discrete points along rock, and the measuring points were limited to the location installed with displacement transducers. We developed a method to monitor the deformation of rock structures using fiber optical Bragg grating strain sensors. The sensors were embedded in rock layers of simulation experiment before the materials were put in. These sensors were then used to monitor the experienced strain with different face advancing distance. The test results indicate that, if properly installed, FBG sensors can survive under severe conditions associated with embedment process and yield accurate measurements of strains response. At the same time, we make comparisons of the data obtained by FBG sensors with those by centesimal gauge. The interest in FBG sensors was motivated by the potential advantages that they can offer more than existing sensing technologies.展开更多

Critical crack tip opening displacement (CTODc) of concrete using experimental and analytical evaluation with seven different compressive strengths ranging from 30 up to 150 MPa was studied based on two types of fract...Critical crack tip opening displacement (CTODc) of concrete using experimental and analytical evaluation with seven different compressive strengths ranging from 30 up to 150 MPa was studied based on two types of fracture tests:three-point bending (TPB) and wedge splitting (WS).In the tests,the values of CTODc were experimentally recorded using a novel technique,in which fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors were used,and two traditional techniques,in which strain gauges and clip gauges were deployed.The values of CTODc of tested concrete were also predicted using two existing analytical formulae proposed by JENQ & SHAH and XU,respectively.It is found that the values of CTODc obtained by both experimental measurements and analytical formulae exhibit a negligible variation as the compressive strength of concrete increases,and the test geometry adopted has little impact on the value of CTODc.Regarding the experimental measurement of CTODc,the clip gauge method generally leads to a larger value of CTODc and shows a more significant scatter as compared with the other two methods,while the strain gauge method leads to a slightly lower CTODc as compared with the FBG sensor method.The analytical formula proposed by JENQ and SHAH is found to generally lead to an overestimation,while the analytical formula proposed by XU shows a good accuracy.展开更多

These areas are the mechanics, electronics and computing system. The mobile robot named Fable was developed accordingly to this method. It is composed by two active wheels, each one driven by DC motor with a high torque and a transmission system containing two spur gears. It has three sonars for detection of the opponent and two infrared sensors to detect a line and an Arduino Uno board is used to control all the actions of the robot.

文摘Presented the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors for rock strain monitoring in the 1.2 m long plane stress model of the simulation experiment. In the past, for the lack of appropriate technique to measure the deformation of rock structures, the measurement of deflection was restricted to just a few discrete points along rock, and the measuring points were limited to the location installed with displacement transducers. We developed a method to monitor the deformation of rock structures using fiber optical Bragg grating strain sensors. The sensors were embedded in rock layers of simulation experiment before the materials were put in. These sensors were then used to monitor the experienced strain with different face advancing distance. The test results indicate that, if properly installed, FBG sensors can survive under severe conditions associated with embedment process and yield accurate measurements of strains response. At the same time, we make comparisons of the data obtained by FBG sensors with those by centesimal gauge. The interest in FBG sensors was motivated by the potential advantages that they can offer more than existing sensing technologies.
文摘A novel type of two-dimensional damage assessment system for real time monitoring the structural health of composite structure is described. The configuration of the embedded fiberoptic sensor array and the model of the artificial neural network (ANN) are discussed. The experimental system and results show that the system can monitor a damage of structures with potential application in areas such as space aeronautics, civil engineering, etc.

文摘Critical crack tip opening displacement (CTODc) of concrete using experimental and analytical evaluation with seven different compressive strengths ranging from 30 up to 150 MPa was studied based on two types of fracture tests:three-point bending (TPB) and wedge splitting (WS).In the tests,the values of CTODc were experimentally recorded using a novel technique,in which fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors were used,and two traditional techniques,in which strain gauges and clip gauges were deployed.The values of CTODc of tested concrete were also predicted using two existing analytical formulae proposed by JENQ & SHAH and XU,respectively.It is found that the values of CTODc obtained by both experimental measurements and analytical formulae exhibit a negligible variation as the compressive strength of concrete increases,and the test geometry adopted has little impact on the value of CTODc.Regarding the experimental measurement of CTODc,the clip gauge method generally leads to a larger value of CTODc and shows a more significant scatter as compared with the other two methods,while the strain gauge method leads to a slightly lower CTODc as compared with the FBG sensor method.The analytical formula proposed by JENQ and SHAH is found to generally lead to an overestimation,while the analytical formula proposed by XU shows a good accuracy.

文摘Development of failure in brittle materials is associated with microcracks,which release energy in the form of elastic waves called acoustic emissions. This paper presents results from acoustic emission measurements obtained during three point bending tests on Nestos marble under laboratory conditions.Acoustic emission activity was monitored using piezoelectric acoustic emission sensors,and the potential for accurate prediction of rock damage based on acoustic emission data was investigated. Damage localization was determined based on acoustic emissions generated from the critically stressed region as scattered events at stresses below and close to the strength of the material.

文摘Security problem is an important issue for Wireless Sensor Network.The paper focuses on the privacy protection of WSN applications.An anonymity enhancement tactic based on pseudonym mechanism is presented for clustered Wireless Sensor Network,which provides anonymity for both the sensors within a cluster and the cluster head nodes.Simulation experiments are launched through NS2 platform to validate the anonymity performance.The theoretical analysis and empirical study imply that the proposed scheme based on pseudonym can protect the privacies of both the sensor nodes and the cluster head nodes.The work is valuable and the experimental results are convincible.
