Considering the irratio...In this work, focusing on the demerit of AEA (Alopex-based evolutionary algorithm) algorithm, an improved AEA algorithm (AEA-C) which was fused AEA with clonal selection algorithm was proposed. Considering the irrationality of the method that generated candidate solutions at each iteration of AEA, clonal selection algorithm could be applied to improve the method. The performance of the proposed new algorithm was studied by using 22 benchmark functions and was compared with original AEA given the same conditions. The experimental results show that the AEA-C clearly outperforms the original AEA for almost all the 22 benchmark functions with 10, 30, 50 dimensions in success rates, solution quality and stability. Furthermore, AEA-C was applied to estimate 6 kinetics parameters of the fermentation dynamics models. The standard deviation of the objective function calculated by the AEA-C is 41.46 and is far less than that of other literatures' results, and the fitting curves obtained by AEA-C are more in line with the actual fermentation process curves.展开更多

By taking advantage of the separation characteristics of nonlinear gain and dynamic sector inside a Hammerstein model, a novel pole placement self tuning control scheme for nonlinear Hammerstein system was put forward...By taking advantage of the separation characteristics of nonlinear gain and dynamic sector inside a Hammerstein model, a novel pole placement self tuning control scheme for nonlinear Hammerstein system was put forward based on the linear system pole placement self tuning control algorithm. And the nonlinear Hammerstein system pole placement self tuning control(NL-PP-STC) algorithm was presented in detail. The identi fication ability of its parameter estimation algorithm of NL-PP-STC was analyzed, which was always identi fiable in closed loop. Two particular problems including the selection of poles and the on-line estimation of model parameters, which may be met in applications of NL-PP-STC to real process control, were discussed. The control simulation of a strong nonlinear p H neutralization process was carried out and good control performance was achieved.展开更多
An assessment of the role of Art as a resource for learning and development of the child has become necessary now that education appears to be the yearning of all especially in the developing countries. This paper see...An assessment of the role of Art as a resource for learning and development of the child has become necessary now that education appears to be the yearning of all especially in the developing countries. This paper seeks to assess the role of Art in learning and development of a child. The paper stresses that the child needs Art to learn because children's attention is drawn first by pictures (Art works) before letters of Alphabet. According to the paper, children become more knowledgeable and creative as they participate in Art classes where they are given opportunities to express themselves while engaging in drawing and painting exercises. This leads to self-discovery and development in children. By this, entrepreneurial spirit is also imbibed. The paper also notes that children who would not ordinarily want to learn have found pleasure in learning with Art and computer. Here the use of cartoons and animations become appropriate in teaching the child. Children also become more adventurous and creative as they find pleasure in drawing with application software like Corel Draw, Microsoft Paint, and so on. Finally, the paper emphasizes the need for Art to be wholly infused in the curricular of schools especially the primaries. This will be a strong factor or agent of development in children. Here the creative and inventive spirit so developed and imbibed will lead to discoveries of future entrepreneurs, industrialists and technologists for national developments.展开更多
A sea spray generation function(SSGF)for bubble-derived droplets that takes into account the impact of wave state on whitecap coverage was presented in this study.By combining the new SSGF with a previous wave-state-d...A sea spray generation function(SSGF)for bubble-derived droplets that takes into account the impact of wave state on whitecap coverage was presented in this study.By combining the new SSGF with a previous wave-state-dependent SSGF for spume droplets,an SSGF applicable to both bubble-derived and spume droplets that includes the impacts of wave state was obtained.The produced SSGF varies with surface wind as well as with wave development.As sea surface wind increases,more sea spray droplets are produced,resulting in larger SSGFs and volume fluxes.Meanwhile,under the same wind conditions,the SSGF is mediated by wave state,with larger SSGFs corresponding to older waves and larger windsea Reynolds numbers.The impact of wave state on sea spray heat flux was then estimated by applying this SSGF while considering the thermodynamic feedback process.Under given atmospheric and oceanic conditions,the estimated sea spray heat flux increases with wind speed,wave age,and windsea Reynolds number.展开更多
