A capacity model of multi-phase signalized intersections is derived by a stopping-line method. It is simplified with two normal situations: one situation involves one straight lane and one left-turn lane; the other situation involves two straight lanes and one left-turn lane. The results show that the capacity is mainly relative to signal cycle length, phase length, intersection layout and following time. With regard to the vehicles arrival rates, the optimal model is derived based on each phase's remaining time balance, and it is solved by Lagrange multipliers. Therefore, the calculation models of the optimal signal cycle length and phase lengths are derived and simplified. Compared to the existing models, the proposed model is more convenient and practical. Finally, a practical intersection is chosen and its signal cycles and phase lengths are calculated by the proposed model. 展开更多

Forkhead box (Fox) proteins play critical roles in the regulation of differentiation, proliferation, immunity and aging of cells. Most studies on Fox proteins are limited to cultured cells and rodent. The aim of the current study is to detect by immunohistrochemistry whether FoxO1, FoxO3a and FoxO4 proteins are localized in the stomach and intestine of the pig. The results showed that FoxO4 exists in the mucosa in all parts of the stomach and intestine; FoxO3a exists mainly in the lamina propria and muscularis of some parts. However, FoxOl is not detectable in all parts of the stomach and intestine. Collectively, the results of the present study indicate that there exists a distinct expression pattern of Fox proteins, and that FoxO4 is a primary forkhead transcriptional factor localized in the gastrointestinal tracts of the pig. 展开更多

An energy model for the structure transformation of pile-ups of grain boundary dislocations(GBD)at the triple-junction of the grain boundary of ultrafine-grain materials was proposed.The energy of the pile-up of the GBD in the system was calculated by the energy model,the critical geometric and mechanical conditions for the structure transformation of head dislocation of the pile-up were analyzed,and the influence of the number density of the dislocations and the angle between Burgers vectors of two decomposed dislocations on the transformation mode of head dislocation was discussed.The results show when the GBD is accumulated at triple junction,the head dislocation of the GBD is decomposed into two Burgers vectors of these dislocations unless the angle between the two vectors is less than 90°,and the increase of applied external stress can reduce the energy barrier of the dislocation decomposition.The mechanism that the ultrafine-grained metal material has both high strength and plasticity owing to the structure transformation of the pile-up of the GBD at the triple junction of the grain boundary is revealed. 展开更多

In the light of C-mapping method and topological current theory, the stability of disclinations around a spherical particle in nematic liquid crystals is studied. We consider two different defect structures around a spherical particle: disclination ring and point defect at the north or south pole of the particle. We calculate the free energy of these different defects in the elastic theory. It is pointed out that the total Frank free energy density can be divided into two parts. One is the distorted energy density of director field around the disclinations. The other is the free energy density of disclinations themselves, which is shown to be concentrated at the defect and to be topologically quantized in the unit of (k - k24)π/2. It is shown that in the presence of saddle-splay elasticity a dipole (radial and hyperbolic hedgehog) configuration that accompanies a particle with strong homeotropic anchoring takes the structure of a small disclination ring, not a point defect. 展开更多

With the aid of computation, we consider the variable-coefficient coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations with the effects of group-velocity dispersion, self-phase modulation and cross-phase modulation, which have potential applications in the long-distance communication of two-pulse propagation in inhomogeneous optical fibers. Based on the obtained nonisospectral linear eigenvalue problems (i.e. Lax pair), we construct the Darboux transformation for such a model to derive the optical soliton solutions. In addition, through the one- and two-soliton-like solutions, we graphically discuss the features of picosecond solitons in inhomogeneous optical fibers. 展开更多

In order to develop an anti-FMDV A Type monoclonal antibody (mAb), BABL/c mice were immunized with FMDV A type. Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) 7B 11 and 8H4 against Foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) serotype A were produced by fusing SP2/0 myeloma cells with splenocyte from the mouse immunized with A/AV88. The microneutralization titer of the mAbs 7Bll and 8H4 were 1024 and 512, respectively. Both mAbs contain kappa light chainS, the mAbs were IgG1. In order to define the mAbs binding epitopes, the reactivity of these mAbs against A Type FMDV, were examined using indirect ELISA, the result showed that both mAbs reacted with A Type FMDV. These mAbs may be used for further vaccine studies, diagnostic methods, prophylaxis, etiological and immunological research on FMDV. Characterization of these ncindicated that prepared anti-FMDV A mAbs had no cross-reactivity with Swine Vesicular Disease (SVD) or FMDV O, Asial and C Type antigens. Their titers in abdomen liquor were 1:5×10^6 and 1:2×10^6, respectively. 7B 11 was found to be of subtype IgGb 8H4 was classified as IgG2b subtype. The mAbs prepared in this study, are specific for detection of FMDV serotype A, and is potentially useful for pen-side diagnosis. 展开更多

Three iron (III) complexes with the formula of [Feat(X)L2]BPh4 were studied, in which a pentadentate Schiff-base ligand (H2L2 = bis (3-methoxysalicylideneiminopropyl) methylamine) and a counter anion BPh4 were fixed, and three monodentate ligands, 3-Mepy (3-methylpyridine), 4-NH2py (4-aminopyridine), and 2-Meim (2-methylimidazole) were used as the axial ligand X. The temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility measurements demonstrated that [Fem(3-Mepy)L2]BPh4 showed a gradual spin equilibrium between HS (high-spin) (S = 5/2) and LS (low-spin) (S = 1/2) states, [Fem(4-NH2py)L2]BPh4 showed a steep SCO (spin crossover) and [FeIH(2-Melm)L2]BPh4 was in the HS state even at 100 K. The single crystal X-ray analyses demonstrated that [FelH(4-NH2py)L2]BPh4 has an one-dimensional chain structure constructed by intermolecular hydrogen bonding between 4-amino group of 4-NH2py and methoxy oxygen of adjacent molecular-cation. The crystal structure of [FenI(3-Mepy)L2]BPh4 has no such intermolecular interaction and its SCO site behaves independently, and the crystal structure of [FeIII(2-Meim)L2]BPh4 has a NH...n interaction between imidazole group of 2-Meim of cation and a phenyl group of anion BPh4. The result demonstrates that the intermolecular hydrogen bonding affects SCO profile significantly. 展开更多

Li- cense plate location based on edge density and color analysis is used to detect the license plate re- gion for tracking initialization. In the tracking stage, covariance matching is employed to track the license plate. Genetic algorithm is used to reduce the computational cost. Real-time image tracking of multi-lane vehicles is achieved. In the experiment, test videos are recorded in advance by record- ers of actual E-police systems erage false detection rate and at several different city intersections. A lightning warning system (LWS) which can predict the possibility of lightning strike and the position of lightning discharge was developed. The LWS uses the electric field intensity at the ground as a parameter to warn the possibility of lightning strikes. A planar shutter type electric field mill (EFM) with a rotating vane is studied to measure the electric field. From a calibration experiment, the sensitivity of the EFM was adjusted to 0.15 V/kV/m, and this covers the ranges from 200 V/m to 20 kV/m. Magnetic field waveform is detected by a crossed loop coil and an integral amplifier. Frequency bandwidth of the circuit ranges from 5 kHz to 1.2 MHz. The polarity of lightning discharges is discriminated by electric field component. After fixing the polarity, we can calculate the direction and distance of lightning discharge by the peak and the zero cross time of the detected magnetic field waveform. 展开更多

The synchronous tracking control problem of a hydraulic parallel manipulator with six degrees of freedom (DOF) is complicated since the inclusion of hydraulic elements increases the order of the system.To solve this problem,cascade control method with an inner/outer-loop control structure is used,which masks the hydraulic dynamics with the inner-loop so that the designed controller takes into account of both the mechanical dynamics and the hydraulic dynamics of the manipulator.Furthermore,a cross-coupling control approach is introduced to the synchronous tracking control of the manipulator.The position synchronization error is developed by considering motion synchronization between each actuator joint and its adjacent ones based on the synchronous goal.Then,with the feedback of both position error and synchronization error,the tracking is proven to guarantee that both the position errors and synchronization errors asymptotically converge to zero.Moreover,the effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified by the experimental results performed with a 6-DOF hydraulic parallel manipulator. 展开更多

The treatment group received ac... Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of combined acupuncture and electrophoresis in treating trigeminal neuralgia. Methods: Sixty patients were randomly allocated to two groups. The treatment group received acupuncture plus electrophoresis, and the control group took Carbamazepine and Methylcobalamin. The therapeutic effects would be evaluated after 30 d. Results: The total effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group versus 70.0% in the control group. During the follow-up study (6 months to 1 year), 3 cases got relapsed in the treatment group, occupying 11.1%, and 6 got relapsed in the control group, occupying 28.6%. Conclusion: Combined acupuncture and electrophoresis has a precise effect in treating trigeminal neuralgia, and it bears an advantage of simple operation and maintaining cutaneous sensation. 展开更多

The stability and synchronous performance are usually hard to be improved simultaneously in the biaxial cross-coupling position motion control system.Based on analyzing the characteristics of the cross-coupling control system,a robust adaptive cross-coupling control strategy is proposed.To restrict influences of destabilizing factors and improve both of stability and synchronous performance,the strategy forces dual axes to track the same reference model using Narendra adaptive control theory.And then,a robust parameters adaptive law is proposed.The stability analysis of the proposed strategy is conducted by applying Lyapunov stability theory.Related simulations and experiments indicate that the proposed strategy can improve synchronous performance and stability simultaneously. 展开更多
