The effect of maleic anhydride grafted styrene-ethylene- buty-lene-styrene block copolymer (SEBS-g-MAH) and in-situ grafting MAH on mechanical, dynamic mechanical properties of wood flour/recycled plastic blends com...The effect of maleic anhydride grafted styrene-ethylene- buty-lene-styrene block copolymer (SEBS-g-MAH) and in-situ grafting MAH on mechanical, dynamic mechanical properties of wood flour/recycled plastic blends composites was investigated. Recycled plastic polypro-pylene (PP), high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polystyrene (PS), were mixed with wood flour in a high speed blender and then extruded by a twin/single screw tandem extruder system to form wood flour/recycled plastic blends composites. Results show that the impact properties of the composites were improved more significantly by using SEBS-g-MAH compatibilizer than by using the mixtures of MAH and DCP via reactive blending in situ. However, contrary results were ob-served on the tensile and flexural properties of the corresponding com-posites. In General, the mechanical properties of composites made from recycled plastic blends were inferior to those made from virgin plastic blends, especially in elongation break. The morphological study verified that the interfacial adhesion or the compatibility of plastic blends with wood flour was improved by adding SEBS-g-MAH or in-situ grafting MAH. A better interfacial bonding between PP, HDPE, PS and wood flour was obtained by in-situ grafting MAH than the addition of SEBS-g-MAH. In-situ grafting MAH can be considered as a potential way of increasing the interfacial compatibility between plastic blends and wood flour. The storage modulus and damping factor of composites were also characterized through dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA).展开更多

Three gate-oxide layers embedded in the silicon waveguide constitute a triple MOS capacitor structure, which boosts the modulation efficiency compared with a single MOS capacitor. The simulation results demonstrate that the Vπ Lπ product is 2. 4V · cm. The rise time and fall time of the proposed device are calculated to be 80 and 40ps from the transient response curve, respectively,indicating a bandwidth of 8GHz. The phase shift efficiency and bandwidth can be enhanced by rib width scaling.展开更多

The properties of GaN epilayers a...Effects of in situ annealing on the structural and optical properties of Gallium nitride (GaN) layers grown on (0001) sapphire by hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE) are studied. The properties of GaN epilayers are improved by insitu annealing at growth temperature under ammonia (NH3) atmosphere. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis shows that the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the rocking curves narrows as the annealing time increases. Raman scattering spectroscopy shows that E2 (high) peak positions shift to the low frequency region. Compared to without annealing and epilayers annealed with bulk GaN,the E2 (high) peak position of epilayers becomes closer to that of bulk GaN as the in situ annealing time increases. The biaxial compressive stress decreases after in situ annealing. Photoluminescence (PL) examination agrees well with XRD and Raman scattering analyses. These results suggest that the optical and structural properties of GaN epilayers can be improved by in situ annealing.展开更多

The spin vectors (mean values of the spin operators) are obtained as explicit functions of time in the most general case. A series of cyclic solutions are presented. The nonadiabatic geometric phases of these cyclic solutions are caleulated, and are expressed in terms of the solid angle subtended by the closed trace of thc total spin vector, as well as in terms of those of the individual spins.展开更多

By introducing aSu-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) type of perturbation interaction ...In the present paper, we continue our investigation on the antiferromagneticorigin of the charge order observed in the halt-doped manganese. By introducing aSu-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) type of perturbation interaction to the double-exchange Hamiltonian, wecalculate again its ground-state phase diagram at Glling x = 0.5 by the unrestricted real-spaceHartree-Fock approximation method. We find that, as the SSH electron-phonon interaction increases,the charge order parameter decreases to zero rapidly but the CE-type antiferromagnetic order becomesmore stable. In other words, the charge order is much more fragile than the CE-type or theNeel-type antiferromagnetic orders under the electron-phonon perturbation. These results support theproposed theory in the recent publications that the charge order in these systems is induced by theantiferromagnetic correlations.展开更多

The kinetics of gelation was analyzed via the correlation between the apparent gelation rate and concentration of PVdF at a given temperature. Combination the results of the kinetics of gelation and the DSC study, it revealed that the phase separation was the major behavior and the fibrils were the major junction joints of the three-dimensional network even in the case the concentration of PVdF was higher than 25 wt%. The porous surface observed by ESEM also reflected that the phase separation took place during the gelation.展开更多

Two different project cases with and without high-rise building adjacent to pile foundation were compared. The relationships of slope pile bending moment, earth pressure, pile top displacement and complex settlement with respect to time were obtained. 1) When there is no adjacent building, the displacement of supporting system caused by excavation is mainly in the horizontal direction; while when the adjacent building exists, the displacement of supporting system will be vertical. 2) When the excavation depth is less than or equal to the adjacent building's composite foundation depth, the force of supporting structure is uniform and has small value, at the same time, the pile strength is in fully use and the foundation is stable; while when the excavation depth is greater than the depth of adjacent building's composite foundation, the results will be opposite. 3) During the excavation process, the adjustment of the composite ground loads on the supporting structure is carried out downward and the force of the supporting structure is reduced through the deformation of the bearing layer.展开更多

We show that the phase-matching condition for the TWRI can be satisfied by a suitable selection of the wavevectors and the frequencies of the three exciting modes involved in the TWRI. Using a method of multiple-scales we derive a set of nonlinearly coupled envelope equations describing the TWRI process and give some explicit solitary-wave solutions.展开更多

An important relation between the vacuum expectation value of gauge fields and scalar fields is also derived by solving the Euler equation for the gauge fields. Based on this relation the gauge potential is given which can be used to explain the asymptotic behavior and confinement of quarks in a hadron, and at the same time the Yukawa potential of strong interaction can be given too.展开更多

METHODS: Twenty patients with biopsy proven hepat- ic metastases were selected from those who ...AIM: To introduce the combination method of radio- chemoembolization for the treatment of selected he- patic metastases. METHODS: Twenty patients with biopsy proven hepat- ic metastases were selected from those who underwent transarterial radiochemoembolization, a novel combina- tion protocol, between .lanuary 2009 and July 2010. Patients had different sources of liver metastasis. The treatment included transarterial administration of three chemotherapeutic drugs (mitomycin, doxorubicin and cisplatin), followed by embolization with large (50-150 μm) radioisotope particles of chromic 32R Multiphasic computer tomography or computer tomography stud- ies, with and without contrast medium injections, were performed for all patients for a short-term period before and after the treatment sessions. The short-term effec- tiveness of this procedure was evaluated by modified response evaluation criteria in solid tumors (mRECIST), which also takes necrosis into account. The subjective percentage of necrosis was also assessed. The re- sponse evaluation methods were based on the changes in size, number, and the enhancement patterns of the lesions between the pre- and post-treatment imaging studies. RESULTS: Patients had liver metastasis from colorectal carcinomas, breast cancer, lung cancer and carcinoid tumors. The response rate based on the mRECIST criteria was 5% for complete response, 60% for par- tial response, 10% for stable disease, and 25% for progressive disease. Regarding the subjective necrosis percentage, 5% of patients had complete response, 50% had partial response, 25% had stable disease, and 20% had progressive disease. Based on traditional RECIST criteria, 3 patients (15%) had partial response, 13 patients (65%) had stable disease, and 4 patients (20%) had disease progression. In most patients, colorectal carcinoma was the source of metastasis (13 patients). Based on the mRECIST criteria, 8 out of these 13 patients had partial responses, while one remained stable, and 5 showed progressive disease. We also had 5 cases of breast cancer metastasis which mostly remained stable (4 cases), with only one partial response after the procedure. Six patients had bilobar involvement; three of them received two courses of radiochemoembolization. The follow up imaging study of these patients was performed after the second ses- sion. In the studied patients there was no evidence of extrahepatic occurrence, including pulmonary radioac- tive deposition, which was proven by Bremsstrahlung scintigraphy performed after the treatment sessions. For the short-term follow-ups for the 2 mo after the therapy, no treatment related death was reported. The mostly common side effect was post-embolization syndrome, presented as vomiting, abdominal pain, and fever. Nineteen (95%) patients experienced this syndrome in different severities. Two patient had asci- tes (with pleural effusion in one patient) not related to hepatic failure. Moreover, no cases of acute liver failure, hepatic infarction, hepatic abscess, biliary necrosis, tu- mor rupture, surgical cholecystitis, or non-targeted gut embolization were reported. Systemic toxicities such as alopecia, marrow suppression, renal toxicity, or cardiac failure did not occur in our study group. CONCLUSION: Radiochemoembolization is safe and effective for selected hepatic metastases in a short- term follow-up. Further studies are required to show the long-term effects and possible complications of this approach.展开更多

CONCLUSION: Radiochemoembolization is safe and effective for selected hepatic metastases in a short- term follow-up. Further studies are required to show the long-term effects and possible complications of this approach.

文摘By using the finite element method and viscoelastic artificial boundary, a soil-structure interaction system is established to simulate the influence of surface buildings on the seismic response of subway structures. The conditions of different relative positions between ground building and subway structure are analyzed. The result~ indicate that when considering the existence of surface buildings, the relative story displacements and internal forces of subway structures are changed greatly. Further the influence of surface buildings on subway structure changes as the distance increases.
