It plays an important role in particular in undertaking programs such as the verification of the minimum living standard guarantee. The minimum living security system has an invaluable role to play in alleviating poverty and promoting social equity and justice. However, some ethical issues still require resolution in the context of social work’s involvement in verifying the minimum subsistence guarantee. The present study employed semi-structured interviews with eight frontline social workers with experience in minimum living standard guarantee verification services in L City, Guangxi, to explore the ethical dilemmas encountered in social work’s participation in the process of minimum living standard guarantee verification. These included the loyalty dilemma of confidentiality, the responsibility dilemma of self-determination or not, and the obedience dilemma of caring or not. Concurrently, the underlying causes are examined and potential resolution strategies are put forth to enhance social work practice, and optimize service efficiency and quality.展开更多
