Objective: To observe the risk factors of thrombosis in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).Methods: From February 2001 to April 2003, 24 patients with moderate and severe OSAHS (OSAHS group) and 19 healthy adults (control group) were recruited. Their blood samples were drawn at 6∶00 and 16∶00 respectively for testing hemocrit, platelet aggregation (PAG), whole blood viscosity (WBV), prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), plasma fibrinogen (Fng) and endothelin (ET).Results: There was a significantly higher hemocrit, WBV, Fng and ET as well as a significant shortening of PT and APTT at 6∶00 than that at 16∶00 in OSAHS group. However, there was no significant difference in all testing items between 6∶00 and 16∶00 in control group. The hemocrit, WBV, PAG, plasma Fng and ET were significantly higher, and PT and APTT were obviously shorter at 6∶00 in OSAHS group than those at 6∶00 in control group. A higher hemocrit, PAG, plasma Fng and ET, a longer PT and APTT were observed at 16∶00 in OSAHS group, compared with those at 16∶00 in control group.Conclusion: In OSAHS patients there were striking risk factors of thrombosis, which is more remarkable in the early morning than in the afternoon. 展开更多

Objective To explore the regulatory effect of fragile X mental retardation protein (FMRP) on the translation of microtubule associated protein 1B (MAP1B). Methods The expressions of MAP1B protein and MAP1B mRNA in the brains of 1-week and 6-week old fragile X mental retardation-1 (FmrI) knockout (KO) mice were investigated by immunohistochemistry, Western blot, and in situ hybridization, with the age-matched wild type mice (WT) as controls. Results The mean optical density (MOD) of MAP1B was significantly decreased in each brain region in KO6W compared with WT6W, whereas in KO1W, this decrease was only found in the hippocampus and cerebellum. MAP1B in 6-week mice was much less than that in 1-week mice of the same genotype. The results of Western blot and in situ hybridization showed that MAP1B protein and MAP1B mRNA were significantly decreased in the hippocampus of both KO1W and KO6W. Conclusion The decreased MAP1B protein and MAP1B mRNA in the Fmrl knockout mice indicate that FMRP may positively regulate the expression of MAP1B. 展开更多

The wideband CMOS voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO)with low phase noise and low power consumption is presented for a DRM/DAB(digital radio mondiale and digital audio broadcasting)frequency synthesizer.In order to obtain a wide band and a large tuning range,a parallel switched capacitor bank is added in the LC tank.The proposed VCO is implemented in SMIC 0.18-μm RF CMOS technology and the chip area is 750 μm×560 μm,including the test buffer circuit and the pads.Measured results show that the tuning range is 44.6%;i.e.,the frequency turning range is from 2.27 to 3.57 GHz.The measured phase noise is-122.22 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset from the carrier.The maximum power consumption of the core part is 6.16 mW at a 1.8 V power supply. 展开更多

Objective This study aimed to assess the protective value of adiponectin(APN)in pancreatic islet injury induced by chronic intermittent hypoxia(CIH).Methods Sixty rats were randomly divided into three groups:normal control(NC)group,CIH group,and CIH with APN supplement(CIH+APN)group.After 5 weeks of CIH exposure,we conducted oral glucose tolerance tests(OGTT)and insulin released test(IRT),examined and compared the adenosine triphosphate(ATP)levels,mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP)levels,reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels,enzymes gene expression levels of Ant1,Cs,Hmox1,and Cox4 i1 which represented mitochondrial tricarboxylic acid cycle function,the protein and gene expression levels of DRP1,FIS1,MFN1,and OPA1 which represented mitochondrial fusion and division,and the protein expression levels of BAX,BCL-2,cleaved Caspase-3,and cleaved PARP which represented mitochondrial associated apoptosis pathway of pancreatic islet.Results OGTT and IRT showed blood glucose and insulin levels had no differences among the NC,CIH and CIH+APN groups(both P>0.05)at 0 min,20 min,30 min,60 min,120 min.However,we found that compared to NC group,CIH increased the ROS level,reduced ATP level and MMP level.The islets of CIH exposed rats showed reduced gene expression levels of Ant1,Cs,Hmox1,and Cox4 i1,decreased protein and gene expression levels of MFN1 and OPA1,increased protein and gene expression levels of DRP1 and FIS1,increased protein expression levels of cleaved Caspase-3 and cleaved PARP,with lower ratio of BCL-2/BAX at protein expression level.All the differences among three groups were statistically significant.APN treated CIH rats showed mitigated changes in the above measurements associated with islet injuries.Conclusion APN may ameliorate the pancreatic islet injury induced by CIH via inhibiting the imbalance in mitochondrial fusion and division. 展开更多

To recover Zn, Pb, Fe and Si from a low-grade mining ore in the Lanping basin, Yunnan Province, China, a novel technology using the roasting with pyrite and carbon followed by beneficiation and hydrochloric acid leaching was proposed. Firstly, several factors such as pyrite dosage, roasting temperature, carbon powder dosage, holding time and particle size affecting on the flotation performance of Zn(Pb) and magnetic separation performance of Fe were simultaneously examined and the optimum process parameters were determined. A flotation concentrate, containing 17.46% Zn and 3.93% Pb, was obtained, and the Zn and Pb recoveries were 86.04% and 69.08%, respectively. The obtained flotation tailing was concentrated by a low-intensity magnetic separator. The grade of iron increased from 5.45% to 43.45% and the recovery of iron reached 64.87%. Hydrochloric acid leaching was then carried out for the magnetic separation tailing and a raw quartz concentrate containing 81.05% SiO2 was obtained. To further interpret the sulfidation mechanism of smithsonite, surface morphology and component of the sample before and after reactions were characterized by XRD and EPMA-EDS. This paper explores the integrated utilization of low-grade thermal energy in hot coal mines, based on analysis of original heating, refrigerating, mine draining, bath draining and air exhaust systems, and in combination with the actual conditions of Tangkou Coal Mine in Shandong Province. It presents a set of comprehensive and integrated utilization schemes for the various different kinds of low quality heat energy. With heat pumps, the recycling of the low quality heat energy from the drainage, bathing water and the exhaust air can occur in winter, and in summer, there exists condensed heat of the refrigerating system. When in conjunction with solar collectors, the thermal utilization of solar power can be realized for the whole year. The system achieves mine drainage and bathing water purification and recycling, as well as purifying exhaust air by water spraying. It also satisfies the demands of a whole year's bathing heat for the coal mine, with refrigeration in summer, and heating for the ground house and shaft house in winter. It is able to integrate different kinds of low quality heat energy and low emission drainage and dust, and can replace the traditional boiler heating system. Finally, the system reduces conventional energy consumption and the amount of mine water drainage. 展开更多

In this research,the Factor Analysis model of measuring provincial low carbon development in China has been constructed.Based on data from 30 provinces,an empirical study was developed to measure comprehensive low carbon development using the Factor Analysis model(Principal Components method and Normalized Varimax Rotation).The results reveal that the provincial marks of low carbon development are generally low and only nine provinces have high marks(more than 0.80).The results also show significant regional disparity.The provincial marks of the eastern region are higher than both the middle and western provinces of China's Mainland.All of the provinces with high marks(more than 0.90) are located in the eastern region,and those with the lowest marks(0.60) are located in the middle region.Furthermore,regional disparity in low carbon development follows the same pattern as economic development in China.Finally,some suggestions for decision-makers are presented. 展开更多

AIM: To investigate the association between metabolic syndrome (NetS) and the development of gallstone disease (GSD). METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 7570 subjects (4978 men aged 45.0:1:8.8 years, and 2592 women aged 45.3:1:9.5 years) enrolled from the physical check-up center of the hospital. The subjects included 918 patients with gallstones (653 men and 265 women) and 6652 healthy controls (4325 men and 2327 women) without gallstones. Body mass index (BII), waist circumference, blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and serum lipids and lipoproteins levels were measured. Colorimetric method was used to measure cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cho- lesterol (HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Dextrose oxidizing enzyme method was used to measure FPG. Subjects were asked to complete a questionnaire that enquired about the information on demographic data, age, gender, histories of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and chronic liver disease and so on. Metabolic syndrome was diagnosed according to the Adult Treatment Panel HI (ATP ]3) criteria. Gall- stones were defined by the presence of strong intralu- minal echoes that were gravity-dependent or attenu- ated ultrasound transmission. RESULTS: Among the 7570 subjects, the prevalence of the gallstone disease was 12.1% (13.1% in men and 10.2% in women). BMI, waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose and serum triglyceride (TG) in cases group were higher than in controls, while serum high-density lipid was lower than in controls. There were significant differences in the waist circumference, blood pressure, FPG and TG between cases and controls. In an age- adjusted logistic regression model, metabolic syndrome was associated with gallstone disease. The age-adjust- ed odds ratio of MetS for GSD in men was 1.29 [95% confidence interval (CI), 1.09-1.52; P = 0.0030], and 1.68 (95% CI, 1.26-2.25; P = 0.0004) in women; the overall age-adjusted odds ratio of NetS for GSD was 1.42 (95% CI, 1.23-1.64; P 〈 0.0001). The men with more metabolic disorders had a higher prevalence of gallstone disease, the trend had statistical significance (P 〈 0.0001). The presence of 5 components of the MetS increased the risk of gallstone disease by 3.4 times (P 〈 0.0001). The prevalence of GSD in women who had 5 components of NetS was 5 times higher than in those without Nets component. The more the components of Mets, the higher the prevalence of GSD (P 〈 0.0001). The presence of 5 components of the Mets increased the risk of gallstone disease by 4.0 times. CONCLUSION: GSD appears to be strongly associated with MetS, and the more the components of NetS, the higher the prevalence of GSD. 展开更多

To further support the low-carbon vehicle technologies development, integrated policies should seek to: (1) employ those integrated energy-saving technologies, (2) apply hybrid electric technology, (3) commercialize electric vehicles through battery technology innovation, (4) support fuel cell vehicles and hydrogen technology R&D for future potential applications, (5) boost the R&D of second generation biofuel technology, and (6) conduct further research on applying low-carbon technologies including CO2 capture and storage technology to coal-based transportation solutions. 展开更多
