Especially the young, born after the 1980s, will play an important part in...Since the city of Chongqing became a municipality on 14th March, 1997, the structure of Chongqing population has undergone tremendous changes. Especially the young, born after the 1980s, will play an important part in the future housing market. So it seems quite urgem to effectively satisfy the housing needs of young people. Massive research and practices indicate that the housing industrialization conserves the environment, improves quality and reduces cost of housing and is among the most effective ways to boost sustainable development of housing industry. The main objective of the paper is to discuss how to meet the growing housing demands of the young and concludes that housing with recreation, sports and other ancillary facilities will be better fit to the young to rent or to own. Furthermore, an analysis of the Chongqing housing market potential of young people's wish to rent or to purchase satisfactory housing demonstrates that some real estate investors may be failing to exploit serious opportunities that could arise from providing service to the young. And this case study of meeting the changing housing needs of the young may help accelerate the process of housing industrialization in Chongqing as well as providing a useful study concerning housing industry.展开更多

Introducing the concept of productive landscape into residential districts, could relieve the contradiction between agricultural land and urban construction land, improve the modern lifestyle, provide a new perspective of landscape design philosophy. The strength, direction and time delay of the relationships between these variables and transaction prices have been considered during the only period of decline in property prices in the years 2000-2002. Industrial heritage plays an essential role in this re...In the contemporary city, the transformation of abandoned industrial landscapes offers great potential for experimentation and in creating new urban environments. Industrial heritage plays an essential role in this respect and it goes beyond its strong cultural and symbolic value. In fact, industrial-cultural heritage is able to re-enact people's capability to maintain the culture of the past while looking forward with appropriate and innovative design solutions. This paper focuses on the design of regeneration of the former Philips' electronic industrial area named Strijp S in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The master plan is pioneer in experimental rules on development areas due to the Crisis and Recovery Act (2010), a new Dutch law in response to development and economical crisis. The authors identify four criteria of analysis in order to show the complexity of this urban transformation and assess the results of this work-in-progress transformation. Moreover, it will discuss the challenges for industrial architecture/heritage when incorporating different objectives of redevelopment and to which extent the local dynamics are linked to the design of reuse. As conclusion, the paper will debate on the comprehensive urban framework, which puts forward sustainable design criteria, sets out principles in temporary and long-term reuse of the old buildings, and on their implication in terms of urban quality of indoor and outdoor spaces.展开更多

In the following article, the authors have given an analysis of the residential market of housing units located in areas of acceptable and excessive noise levels in preselected regions of Poland. With this end in view, an entirely new source of information has been used in the research--an acoustic map which has been defined and applied to produce the outcome of the analysis. It allowed for the recognition of whether or not the noise level influences decisions made by investors existing in a local residential real estate market.展开更多
